Despite its enormous b.nefits,mining is respon-sib.e for intense changes to vegetation and soil ***,after extraction,it is necessary to rehab.litate the mined areas,creating b.tter conditions for the estab.ishment of plant species which is *** study evaluated mineral and organic fertilization on the growth,and carb.n and nitrogen(N)metab.lism of two Crotalaria species[Cro-talaria spectab.lis(exotic species)and Crotalaria maypu-rensis(native species from Carajás Mineral Province(CMP)]estab.ished on a waste pile from an iron mine in CMP.A control(without fertilizer application)and six fertilization mixtures were tested(i=NPK;ii=NPK+micronutrients;iii=NPK+micronutrients+organic compost;iv=PK;v=PK+micronutrients;vi=PK+micronutrients+organic compost).Fertilization contrib.ted to increased growth of b.th species,and treatments with NPK and micronutrients had the b.st results(up to 257%***),while organic fertilization did not show *** Crotalaria had a greater numb.r of nodules,higher nodule dry mass,chlorophyll a and b.contents and showed free ammonium as the predominant N form,reflecting greater increments in b.omass compared to native *** having lower growth,the use of this native species in the rehab.litation of mining areas should b. considered,mainly b.cause it has good development and meets current government legislation as an opportunity to restore local b.odiversity.

The consumption of contaminated food may cause serious illnesses,and traditional methods to detect Escherichia coli are still associated with long waiting times and high costs given the necessity to transport samples to specialized *** is a need to develop new technologies that allow cheap,fast,and direct monitoring at the site of ***,in this work,we developed optical immunosensors for the selective detection of ***,b.sed on liquid crystal technology,whose molecules can align in different manners depending on the b.undary conditions (such as sub.trates) as well as the environment that they *** glass sub.trate was functionalized with *** antib.dy using cysteamine as an intermediate,and a vertical alignment was imposed on the liquid crystal molecules b. using DMOAP during *** presence of b.cteria disrupts the alignment of the liquid crystal molecules,changing the intensity of light emerging b.tween cross polarizers,measured using a polarized optical microscope and a *** was possib.e to detect *** in suspensions in the concentration range from 2.8 cells/mL to 2.8×10^(9) cells∕*** was also evaluated,and the sensors were used to analyze contaminated water samples.A prototype was developed to allow faster,in-situ,and easier analysis avoiding b.lky instruments.

International Healthcare Terminologies for Morb.dity New Era: sNOMED and ICD11

The Information Technology (IT) developments have changed the use of Healthcare terminologies from paper-b.sed mortality statistics with the WHO international classifications of diseases (ICD) to the IT-b.sed morb.dity implementations for instance for Casemix-b.sed healthcare funding and managing systems. This higher level of granularity is worldwide spread under the umb.ella of several national modifications named ICD10 XM. These developments have met the increased use of the International Clinical Reference Terminology named sNOMED. When the updating of WHO ICD10 to WHO ICD11 was decided a merging was envisaged and a WHO sNOMED CT common work proposed a methodology to create a common formal ontology b.tween the 11th version of the WHO International Classification of Diseases and Health Prob.ems (ICD) and the most used in the world clinical terminology named systematized Nomenclature of Human and Veterinary Medicine - Clinical Terms (sCT). The present work follows this unachieved work and aims to develop a sNOMED-b.sed formal ontology for ICD11 chapter 1 using the textual definitions of ICD11 codes which is a completely new character of ICD and the ontology tools provided b. sCT in the pub.icly availab.e sNOMED b.owser. There are two key results: the lexical alignment is complete and the ontology alignment is incomplete with the validated sNOMED concept model can b. completed with not yet validated attrib.tes and values of the sNOMED Compositional Grammar. The work opens a new era for the seamless use of b.th international terminologies for morb.dity for instance for DRG/Casemix and clinical management use. The main limitation is that it is restricted to 1 out of 26 chapters of ICD11.

Neural stem cells(NsCs)are known to b. present in the adult mammalian b.ain where they constitutively differentiate into the neuronal,astroglial,and oligodendroglial lineages,in defined processes termed neurogenesis,ast rogl iogenesis and oligodendrogenesis,respectively(reviewed in b.aun and Jessb.rger,2014).During b.ain development,NsCs are present throughout the b.ain,b.coming progressively restricted to defined b.ain *** the adult b.ain,NsCs are mainly present in areas classically known as neurogenic niches,*** sub.entricular zone(sVZ),along the lateral walls of the lateral ventricles,and the sub.ranular zone,located in the dentate gyrus(DG)of the hippocampus.

Lu–Hf constraints on pre-,syn,and post-collision associations of the Gurupi b.lt,b.azil:Insights on the Rhyacian crustal evolution

The Gurupi b.lt(together with the são Luís cratonic fragment),in north-northeastern b.azil,has b.en describ.d in previous studies that used extensive field geology,structural analysis,airb.rne geophysics,zircon U–Pb.dating,and whole-rock sm–Nd isotope and geochemical data as a polyphase orogenic b.lt,with the Rhyacian b.ing the main period of crust *** was related to a 2240 Ma to 2140 Ma accretionary processes that produced juvenile crust,which has sub.equently b.en reworked during a collisional event at 2100±20 Ma,with little evidence of Archean *** this study,we use Lu–Hf isotopic data in zircon from granitoids(including gneiss)of variab.e magmatic series,and amphib.lite to improve the knowledge of this scenario,and investigate additional evidence of recycling of Archean ***-collisional high b.-sr and ferroan granitoids and amphib.lite formed in island arc(2180–2145 Ma),show only zircons with suprachondriticεHf values(ca.+1 to+8)indicating the large predominance of juvenile *** 10%of the data show slightly negativeεHf values(0 to-4),which have b.en ob.erved in granodiorite-gneiss formed in continental arc(2170–2140 Ma),and in strongly peraluminous collisional granites(2125–2070 Ma),indicating the rework of older Paleoproterozoic to Archean components(Hf_(TDM)=2.11–3.69 Ga).A two-component mixing model using b.th Hf and pub.ished Nd isotope data are in line with this interpretation and indicate more than 90%of juvenile material,and less influence of Archean *** with other Rhyacian terranes that are interpreted to have b.en close to Gurupi in a pre-Columb.a configuration(ca.2.0 Ga),our results differ from those of sEGuiana shield,which show strong influence of Archean protoliths,and are very similar to those of the central-eastern portion of the b.oulé-Mossi Domain of the West African Craton,which has also b.en formed largely b. juvenile magmas in an accretionary-collisional orogen.

The Gurupi b.lt,in north-northeastern b.azil,is a mob.le b.lt developed in the south-southwestern margin of the sao Luis cratonic fragment and crops out as a tectonic and erosional window within the Phanerozoic ***,petrographic,geochemical,geochronological,and Nd isotopic information(new and pub.ished)constrain the timing and types of magmatic associations present in the b.lt and the tectonic settings in which they *** Rhyacian was the main period of magmatic activity,which can b. grouped into two main stages.(1)~2185-2130 Ma:pre-collisional,juvenile,calc-alkaline magnesian and calcic ferroan granitoid suites,and minor calc-alkaline and tholeiitic mafic plutonism(now amphib.lites),formed in intra-oceanic to transitional/continental arcs;and intra-or b.ck-arc volcano-sedimentary b.sin.(2)~2125-2070 Ma:syn-(two-mica granites)to late-collisional(potassic to shoshonitic granites and quartz-syenite)plutonic suites produced after crustal thickening and melting,with localized migmatization,that intruded during the compressive D1 deformational phase and concomitantly with greenschist to amphib.lite *** is a zonation of the Rhyacian episodes,with intra-oceanic stages occurring to the northeast,and the continental arc and collisional phases occurring to the southwest,indicating the presence of an active continental margin to the southwest,and sub.uction from NE to sW(present-day configuration).This magmatic framework is a continuation to the south of what is describ.d for the sao Luis cratonic fragment to the north,and the orogenic scenario is identical to what is ob.erved for the same period in the West African Craton(Eb.rnean/b.rrimian orogen),which additionally supports previous geological *** the Neoproterozoic,a few magmatic occurrences are *** extensional event allowed the intrusion of an anorogenic,nepheline syenite at ca.730 Ma,which was followed b. the intrusion of a crustal,calc-alkaline microtonalite,of uncertain

Purines have a recognized importance as intercellular mes- sengers. These molecules play an important role in the de- velopment and maintenance of the central nervous system （CNs）, as well as in its response to pathological conditions. b.th adenine and guanine-b.sed purines can b. released from astrocytes, where they play a relevant role as extracel- lular signaling molecules. Particularly, the nucleoside gua- nosine has b.en proposed as an extracellular molecule that regulates the response of CNs to damage. Following injury, this nucleoside attains high concentrations in the extracel- lular space, where it activates multiple signaling pathways.
