Introduction Hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells(HSPC)are responsible for the reconstitution of blood cells and thought to contribute to peripheral tissue *** acute exercise in young adults,HSPC are mobilized from their niche in bone marrow into circulation,however the kinetics of mobilization following exercise is not well understood in older *** the present study,we aimed to investigate how exercise intensity influences mobilization of specific subpopulations of HSPC,and how mobilization is affected by *** Healthy older men(OM;69.9±2.0 years)and young men(YM;21.5±0.8 years)performed three separate bouts of exercise on a cycle ergometer:70%of their peak work rate(WRpeak)until volitional fatigue,30%of their WRpeak work matched to the 70%WRpeak trial,and a high intensity interval training(HIIT)*** samples were collected before,immediately post,and 10,30,and 60 min *** blood cells,hematocrit,and mononuclear cells isolated by density gradient centrifugation were quantified using flow *** Mononuclear cells,CD34+,CD34+/CD38+,CD34+/CD110+,CD3+/CD(16+56)+,CD11c+/CD123-,and CD11c-/CD123+cells per millilitre of blood increased immediately post-exercise,but predominately in the 70%WRpeak trial in both OM and *** Taken together,our evidence suggests that higher intensity exercise but also volume is necessary for the mobili-zation of ***,the pattern of mobilization was nearly identical in OM as compared to YM though to a lesser extent than their younger counterparts.

A series of nucleotide sugar interconversion enzymes(NSEs) generate the activated sugar donors required for biosynthesis of cell wall matrix polysaccharides and glycoproteins. UDPglucose 4-epimerases(UGEs) are NSEs that function in the interconversion of UDP-glucose(UDP-Glc) and UDP-galactose(UDP-Gal). The roles of UDP-glucose 4-epimerases in monocots remain unclear due to redundancy in the pathways. Here, we report a brittle plant(bp1) rice mutant that exhibits brittle leaves and culms at all growth stages. The mutant culms had reduced levels of rhamnogalacturonan I, homogalacturonan, and arabinogalactan ***, the mutant had altered contents of uronic acids, neutral noncellulosic monosaccharides, and cellulose. Map-based cloning demonstrated that OsBP1 encodes a UDPglucose 4-epimerase(OsUGE2), a cytosolic protein. We also show that BP1 can form homoand hetero-protein complexes with other UGE family members and with UDP-galactose transporters 2(OsUGT2) and 3(OsUGT3), which may facilitate the channeling of Gal to polysaccharides and proteoglycans. Our results demonstrate that BP1 participates in regulating the sugar composition and structure of rice cell walls.

Development of Maize-Tigernut Fortified Weaning Food Using Starter Cultures

The effects of starter fermentation on the nutritional qualities of maize-tigernut fortified weaning foods were investigated. The dry-milled, malted maize grains fortified with dry-milled roasted tigernut flours (70:30) were subjected to 48 hrs of spontaneous and starter fermentation (singly and as combined starters). Nutritional, sensory characteristics and feeding trials of the weaning foods were evaluated. Four fermented weaning blends were formulated: FMT (spontaneously fermented maize-tigernut), SFMT1 (lactobacillus plantarum F2C fermented maize-tigernut), SFMT2 (lactobacillus plantarum U2A fermented maize-tigernut) and SFMT3 (combined starter-fermented maize-tigernut). SFMT2 had the highest crude protein, fat, fibre, ash and least carbohydrate content among the blends. The highest energy content (456.84 Kcal/100 g) was observed in blend SMFT2 which was also higher than that of both negative (Nutrend) and positive (Conventional animal feed) controls. The least antinutrient and vitamin contents were recorded in SFMT2. Blend SFMT1 had the highest Vitamin B1 (0.67 mg/100 g), Vitamin A (472.60 ug/100 g), phosphorus (75.45 mg/100 g) and zinc (1.05 mg/100 g) contents while the highest calcium (17.17 mg/100 g) and iron (22.82 mg/100 g) were recorded in SFMT2. Sample SFMT2 was rated the highest in all of the sensory characteristics except colour and the highest overall acceptability (6.00) which was not different significantly from all other starter produce blends. Biological evaluation showed blend SFMT2 fed animals having the highest weight by 28 days (73.14 g), mean weight gain (5.46 g), mean feed intake (18.71 g) and mean protein efficiency ratio PER (3.65). However, all the PER values including that of controls (2.30) were higher than the value of 2.10 recommended by the Protein Advisory Group (PAG) for complementary foods. Allelopathic Potential of Some Crop Residues on the Germination and Growth of Soybean （Glycine max l,） Merrill

Allelopathic potentials of aqueous water extracts from residues of sorghum stem, maize inflorescence and rice husks on the germination of soybeans （Glycine max. l.） were investigated. The result showed that the extracts brought about a considerable inhibition in the germination of soybean seeds, reductions in the radicle and plumule lengths of soybean seedlings. Whereas, the extracts of maize inflorescence and rice husk had more inhibitory effects on the growth of soybean radicle, all the three extracts demonstrated pronounced inhibitory effects on the growth of the plumule. The retardation of soybean germination, radicle and plumule growths were concentration dependents as the degree of retardations increases with increase in the concentration of the extracts. Statistical analysis （ANOVA, P = 0.05） revealed that there were no significant differences in the germination, radicle and plumule growths at 24 and 48 h experimental time when compared to the control. However, statistical differences abound in the growth parameters at 72 and 144 h experimental time.

The allelopathic effects of aqueous extracts of rice husk （Orza sativa l.） and sorghum stem （Sorghum bicolor l.） on the germination and seedling growth of Chromolaena odoratum l. were investigated. The extracts of the two crop residues exhibited inhibitory effects on the germination and seedling growth of Chromolaena odoratum l. The degree of retardation demonstrated in both extracts was concentration dependent. However the results obtained revealed that the retardation was more pronounced in the rice husk extract-treated seeds. However statistical analysis （P 〈 0.05% level） revealed that the degrees of inhibition of radicle and plumule obtained from various extracts treated seeds of both extracts were not significantly different when compared to those obtained from the control experiments as well as those obtained from the varying extract concentrations.

Internet of things (IoT) has been significantly raised owing to thedevelopment of broadband access network, machine learning (Ml), big dataanalytics (BDA), cloud computing (CC), and so on. The development of IoTtechnologies has resulted in a massive quantity of data due to the existenceof several people linking through distinct physical components, indicatingthe status of the CC environment. In the IoT, load scheduling is realistictechnique in distinct data center to guarantee the network suitability by fallingthe computer hardware and software catastrophe and with right utilize ofresource. The ideal load balancer improves many factors of Quality of Service(QoS) like resource performance, scalability, response time, error tolerance,and efficiency. The scholar is assumed as load scheduling a vital problem inIoT environment. There are many techniques accessible to load scheduling inIoT environments. With this motivation, this paper presents an improved deerhunting optimization algorithm with Type II fuzzy logic (IDHOA-T2F) modelfor load scheduling in IoT environment. The goal of the IDHOA-T2F is todiminish the energy utilization of integrated circuit of IoT node and enhancethe load scheduling in IoT environments. The IDHOA technique is derivedby integrating the concepts of Nelder Mead (NM) with the DHOA. Theproposed model also synthesized the T2l based on fuzzy logic (Fl) systemsto counterbalance the load distribution. The proposed model finds usefulto improve the efficiency of IoT system. For validating the enhanced loadscheduling performance of the IDHOA-T2F technique, a series of simulationstake place to highlight the improved performance. The experimental outcomesdemonstrate the capable outcome of the IDHOA-T2F technique over therecent techniques.

The level of Expression of Thioredoxin is linked to Fundamental Properties and Applications of Wheat Seeds

Work with cereals （barley and wheat） and a legume （Medicago truncatula） has established thioredoxin h （Trx h） as a central regulatory protein of seeds. Trx h acts by reducing disulfide （S-S） groups of diverse seed proteins （storage proteins, enzymes, and enzyme inhibitors）, thereby facilitating germination. Early in vitro protein studies were complemented with experiments in which barley seeds with Trx h overexpressed in the endosperm showed accelerated germination and early or enhanced expression of associated enzymes （α-amylase and pullulanase）. The current study extends the transgenic work to wheat. Two approaches were followed to alter the expression of Trx h genes in the endosperm：（1） a hordein promoter and its protein body targeting sequence led to overexpression of Trx hS, and （2） an antisense construct of Trx h9 resulted in cytosolic underexpression of that gene （Arabidopsis designation）. Underexpression of Trx h9 led to effects opposite to those observed for overexpression Trx h5 in barley--retardation of germination and delayed or reduced expression of associated enzymes. Similar enzyme changes were observed in developing seeds. The wheat lines with underexpressed Trx showed delayed preharvest sprouting when grown in the greenhouse or field without a decrease in final yield. Wheat with overexpressed Trx h5 showed changes commensurate with earlier in vitro work： increased solubility of disulfide proteins and lower aUergenicity of the gliadin fraction. The results are further evidence that the level of Trx h in cereal endosperm determines fundamental properties as well as potential applications of the seed.

Rogue waves are ubiquitous in nature,appearing in a variety of physical systems ranging from acoustics,microwave cavities,optical fibers,and resonators to plasmas,superfluids,and Bose–Einstein *** nonlinear solitary waves,rogue waves are extreme events that can occur even without nonlinearity by,for example,spontaneous synchronization of waves with different spatial frequencies in a linear ***,we report the observation of rogue-wave-like events in human red blood cell(RBC)suspensions under weak light illumination,characterized by an abnormal l-shaped probability *** biophotonic extreme events arise mostly due to the constructive interference of Mie-scattered waves from the suspended RBCs,whose biconcave shape and mutable orientation give rise to a time-dependent random phase modulation to an incident laser *** numerically simulate the beam propagation through the colloidal suspensions with added disorder in both spatial and temporal domains to mimic random scattering due to Brownian *** addition,at high power levels,nonlinear beam self-focusing is also observed,leading to a dual-exponential probability distribution associated with the formation of multiple soliton-like *** rogue wave events should also exist in environments with cells of other species such as swimming bacteria,and understanding of their underlying physics may lead to unexpected biophotonic applications.

长江下游安庆新洲水域是鱼类种群密集、资源丰富、种类多样、珍稀水生动物广布的江段,大量经济鱼类在此集中产卵,同时也是我国主要经济和珍稀洄游鱼类在生活史过程中产卵、索饵和越冬洄游的必经之道,因此其渔业地位十分重要,历来是我国主要的天然渔业场所。20世纪90年代后,随着经济的快速发展,人类涉水活动趋于频繁,长江下游水文情势、水位、水温和泥沙等发生改变,水利枢纽工程建设导致鱼类等水生生物栖息环境改变,自然的洄游通道被阻断,面对诸多不利于种群的因素,鱼类群落将会如何响应有待研究,因此亟待加强对长江鱼类群落结构及其多样性的系统研究。本研究对长江安庆新洲水域鱼类群落结构进行3次调查研究,同时对水域环境因子进行同步采样,以探究影响鱼类群落结构的关键环境因子,为该江段鱼类资源的合理利用与渔业资源恢复提供科学依据。分别于2020年8月、10月、2021年1月,在长江安庆新洲水域,刀鲚国家级水产种质资源保护区设置了7个采样断面,放置渔具(6个大插网、3个小插网和18个虾笼网箱)进行24小时常规监测,此外还放置6条刺网约12小时,用以调查鱼类多样性和优势种。水环境参数监测与鱼类调查同时进行,主要测定的是水体理化参数,包括水温、水深、溶解氧、浊度等物理参数,水体营养盐包括TN、TDN、TP、TDP、NO2--N、NH4+-N和PO43--P等,生物环境主要包括浮游植物、浮游动物和底栖动物等。水环境调查结果显示,调查水域水温变化范围为9.47-23.1℃,平均温度为16.91±5.62℃;水深在9.17-23.58 m之间变化,平均水深为15.13±4.79 m。总氮变化范围为1.98-2.44 mg/l,平均TN为2.26±0.16 mg/l,总体上超过III类水标准。水体氨氮变化范围为0.04-0.35 mg/l,平均氨氮为0.15±0.11 mg/l。水体卡尔森营养状态指数变幅为47.46-51.28,均值49.04±1.07,水体为中度富营养化。浮游植物58种,隶属于6门19科29属,其中硅藻门物种最多,为31种,占物种总数的53.45%;绿藻门次之,共13种,占22.41%,裸藻门、隐藻门、甲藻门和蓝藻门物种较少,分别为3种、2种、1种和8种。浮游动物4门16属20种,原生动物最多,共4属6种,占物种总数的比例为30%;其次为桡足类,6属8种占40%;枝角类4属4种占20%;轮虫类2属2种,占10%。底栖动物2门8种,环节动物门最多为6种,占总物种数的75%;节足动物门2种,占总物种数的25%。鱼类调查共采集渔获物498.35kg,2249尾,长江镇江段鱼类区系主要有四种:中国平原区系复合体、南方热带平原区系复合体、晚第三纪早期区系复合体和南黄海、东海近海类群。渔获物共52种,隶属于8目13科38属,其中包含鱼类49种,甲壳类3种。鲤形目物种的渔获物种数、渔获尾数和渔获重量均极显著高于其他各目鱼类,占据绝对优势,分别达69.23%、81.68%、93.42%。IRI指数大于1000的优势种共5种,分别为鲢、鳊、鳙、似鳊和草鱼;IRI指数介于100至1000之间的常见种共10种,IRI指数介于10至100的偶见种共计16种,IRI指数小于10的罕见种共计18种。长江下游镇江江段共采集到鳊共327尾,体长范围是101.93-245.84 mm,平均体长为160.22±33.15 mm;雌性群体共体长范围为101.93-245.8 mm,平均体长为155.50±34.02 mm,优势组体长为101.93-189.77 mm,占雌性群体82.32%,体长范围220-250mm的个体最少,仅占雌性群体的6.08%;雄性群体体长范围为105.81-24.79 mm,平均体长166.07±31.6 mm,优势体长为130.77-189.58 mm,占雄性群体67.12%,体长范围221.6-244.79mm的个体最少,仅占雄性群体的6.85%。刀鲚88尾,体长范围是221.38-391 mm,平均体长288.99±33.56 mm优势组为243.84-318.68 mm,占群体73.86%,体长范围大于360 mm的个体最少,仅占雌性群体的1.14%。体重范围为38.83-198.03 g,平均体重93.92±33.79 g,优势体重组为51.44-146.85 g,占群体76.14%,体重范围38.83-47.84 g的个体最少,仅占雌性群体的9.1%。根据调查结果,长江下游镇江江段鱼类多样性、密度及资源量较高,水域环境条件良好,饵料资源丰富且分布量较大的区域,鱼类群落结构复杂,群落多样性较大。长江镇江段鱼类群落结构与水域生态环境间的相关关系,还需进行更为深入及细致的研究。
