目的:为使零件在设计阶段实现公差的自动分配,研究线轮廓度在计算机中的表达模型。创新点:1.提出一种新的构建线轮廓度公差T-Map图的方法;2.用运动学等效的方法表示理想轮廓公差域的允许偏差。方法:1.将零件轮廓分解成多段,然后分别为每段生成一个实体模型T-Map(图6和7);2.利用布尔交运算将所有分段T-Map合成一个完整线轮廓度的T-Map(图8);3.以弧形短槽为例,演示创建线轮廓度的方法步骤。结论:将弧形短槽轮廓分成多段,先实现每一段的T-Map,再利用布尔交实现整体线轮廓度公差的T-Map图,证明该方法在构建任意轮廓的线轮廓度公差上的有效性。

What Makes Homeowners Consider Protective Actions to Reduce Disaster Risk?An Application of the Precaution Adoption Process Model and Life Course Theory

We hypothesize that for disaster risk mitigation,many households,despite being aware of their risk and possible mitigation actions,never seriously consider doing anything about *** mitigation-focused decisions,since there is no equivalent to warning messages,the decision process is likely to evolve over an extended *** explore what activates hurricane mitigation protective action decisions through three research questions:(1)to what extent are homeowners unengaged in protective action decision making?(2)What homeowner characteristics are associated with lack of engagement?And(3)to what extent do different life events trigger engagement in the decision-making process?We use the Precaution Adoption Process Model to conceptualize engagement as distinct from decision making;the broader protective action decision-making literature to explore drivers of engagement;and Life Course Theory to examine potential transitions from unengaged to *** use survey data of homeowners in North Carolina to examine these questions *** suggest that one-third of respondents had never engaged in protective action decisions,that life experiences differ in their occurrence frequency and effect on households’mitigation decisions,and that some events,such as renovating,reroofing,or purchasing a home may offer critical moments that could be leveraged to encourage greater engagement in mitigation decision making.

Direct real-time PCR examination for Mycobacterium tuberculosis in respiratory samples can be cost effective

Aim: To assess whether the use of direct real- time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) on smear-positive sputa can be cost-effective, by speciating mycobacteria earlier than current methods and thereby preventing unnecessary screening tests as part of the contact tracing process. Methods: A retrospective study of all patients with smear-positive sputa in a Liverpool teach-ing hospital between 2004 and 2007. All the PCRs performed on these patients were re-viewed and compared them with their myco-bacterial culture results. Unit costs for PCR, chest X-ray (CXR), tuberculin skin test (TST), interferon-gamma (IFN-γ) and medical/nursing time were conservatively estimated at ￡50, ￡11, ￡10, ￡40 and ￡30 respectively. The total PCR costs were compared with the costs of unnec-essary follow up of patients, negative for My-cobacterium tuberculosis (MTB) by PCR, sub-sequently confirmed to be MTB culture nega-tive. Results: 203 smear-positive patients under-went direct PCR testing. 126 (62%) patients grew Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB), 74 (37%) had environmental mycobacterial infection (EMI) and 3 (1%) were culture negative. Of the 126 patients’ culture positive MTB patients, 123 were PCR positive and 3 PCR negative. Of the 77 pa-tients that were culture negative for MTB, 75 were PCR negative and 2 PCR positive The sensitivity, specificity, positive and negative predictive values for direct PCR versus MTB culture were 98%, 96%, 98% and 97% respec-tively. Total costs of all PCRs performed amounted to ￡10,150. The cost of contact pro-cedures for PCR-negative and MTB culture- negative index cases was estimated at ￡19,650. This equated to a total saving of ￡9,500 in contact tracing costs. Conclusions: Direct PCR examination testing of smear-positive patients can be cost-effective in areas where there is a high incidence of EMI.

Indoor Air Quality in the United Arab Emirates

Air quality was measured inside 628 United Arab Emirates (UAE) personal residences. Weekly average concentrations of carbon monoxide (CO), formaldehyde (HCHO), hydrogen sulfide (H2S), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), sulfur dioxide (SO2), and three size fractions of particulate matter (PM2.5, PMc, and PM10) were determined in each home. In a subset of the homes, measurements of outdoor air quality, ultrafine PM concentrations, and elemental PM concentrations were also made. Questionnaires were administered to obtain information on housing demographics and lifestyle habits. Air measurements were performed using simple and cost effective passive samplers. The 90th percentiles of indoor CO, HCHO, H2S, NO2, and SO2 were 1.55 ppm, 0.05 ppm, 0.12 ppm, 0.01 ppm, and 0.05 ppm, respectively. Median indoor PM2.5, PMc, and PM10, concentrations were 5.73 μg/m3, 29.4 μg/m3, and 35.2 μg/m3, respectively. The median indoor concentration of ultrafine PM was 3.62 × 1010 particles/m3. Indoor/outdoor ratios for PM were 0.44, 0.41, and 0.38 for ultrafine PM, PM2.5, and PM10, respectively. These values fall within the range of other indoor air studies findings conducted in developing countries. Air conditioning, smoking, and attached kitchens were significantly correlated with indoor levels of carbon monoxide. In addition, indoor concentrations of PM2.5 and PM10 were significantly correlated with vehicles parked within five meters of the home, central air conditioning, and having attached kitchens. This is the first robust indoor air quality data set developed for the UAE. This study demonstrates that screening level tools are a good initial step for assessing air quality when logistical issues (distance, language, cultural, training) and intrusion into personal lives need to be minimized.
