Previously,it was suggested that biological maturation(BM)could be linked to cardiac autonomic recovery(CAR)in the pediatric ***,this influence hasn’t been confirmed *** aim was to investigate the impact of BM on CAR in female volleyball *** study with a sample of 38 volleyball players,comprising 20 girls(age:[11.62.1]years)and 18 women(age:[24.55.5]years),we analyzed BM,comparing maturing subjects(girls)with mature subjects(women).Additionally,we assessed peak height velocity(PHV)in *** conducted a training session involving repeated sprints(3 rounds of 6 sprints interspersed by 5 min[min]of passive rest).Using short-range radio telemetry,we analyzed CAR during(at the end of the 1st and 2nd rounds)and after(following the 3rd round)the training session of repeated sprints by applying the 60-s to 300-s heart rate recovery index(HRR-Index).Girls exhibited superior CAR compared to women(round 2:60-s,120-s,240-s,and 300-s,pdemonstrated superior CAR compared to those in the Early-PHV and During-PHV groups.(60-s to 300-s,η2p>0.4,pjects in the During-PHV stage were superior to those in the Early-PHV stage(240-sa 300-s,η2 p>0.4,pded that biological maturation has a significant impact on cardiac autonomic recovery.

Background:Thrombocytopenia is a possible risk factor for bleeding after band ligation of esophageal ***,elevated von Willebrand factor(VWF)in cirrhosis improves platelet function and could decrease this *** objective was to assess platelet function in patients with cirrhosis undergoing esophageal variceal ligation(EVL).Methods:The assessment consisted of platelet count,antigen and activity of VWF and VWF-cleaving protease ADAMTS-13 activity,and a platelet adhesion and aggregation test simulating vascular flow in vivo(Impact-RR)prior to ***:Totally 111 patients were divided into three groups according to platelet count:(1)100×109/L(n=26,23.4%).No statistically significant difference was found in the aggregate size of platelets[group 1:41.0(31.8–67.3)μm 2;group 2:47.0(33.8–71.3)μm 2;and group 3:47.0(34.0–66.0)μm 2;P=0.60]and no significant correlation was found between aggregate size and platelet count(Spearman r=0.07;P=0.47).Surface coverage was 4.1%(2.8%–6.7%),8.5%(4.0%–10.0%),and 9.0%(7.1%–12.0%)(Pdemonstrated for platelet function ***:Platelet function is preserved even in the presence of thrombocytopenia,including in the patients with post-EVL bleeding.

Eucalyptus adult material requires more successive subcultures in the in vitro multiplication phase for increased vigor and cellular activity. This study evaluated the endophytic manifestation and shoot multiplication of one 13-year-old Eucalyptus benthamii clone under different culture conditions and used canopy branches(CB) and trunk base material as explant sources. The culture media were wood plant medium(WPM), Murashige and Skoog medium(MS) and jADS(Correia and co-authors medium).Based on the results of the initial multiplication experiment, further tests examined sucrose concentrations and p H. Morphophysiology, dry mass production, endophyticmanifestation and histochemical were determined. Explant sources responded differently to MS and jADS media, but the WPM medium promoted homogeneous *** responses were similar for both explant sources when sucrose concentrations varied. Shoots died in the absence of sucrose, showed high oxidation at 60 g L-1 and optimal development at 30 g L-1. Endophytes were more evident for shoots from the CB origin. Explant sources responded distinctively to treatment due to physiological and intrinsic genetic factors. Therefore, explant sources, different culture media, sucrose concentration and p H may determine micropropagation success and influence the presence and/or intensity of endophytic manifestation.

Simultaneous lightwave information and power transfer (SLIPT), co-existing with optical wireless communication,holds an enormous potential to provide continuous charging to remote Internet of Things (IoT) devices while ensuringconnectivity. Combining SLIPT with an omnidirectional receiver, we can leverage a higher power budget whilemaintaining a stable connection, a major challenge for optical wireless communication systems. Here, we design amultiplexed SLIPT-based system comprising an array of photodetectors (PDs) arranged in a 3 × 3 configuration. Thesystem enables decoding information from multiple light beams while simultaneously harvesting energy. The PDs canswiftly switch between photoconductive and photovoltaic modes to maximize information transfer rates and provideon-demand energy harvesting. Additionally, we investigated the ability to decode information and harvest energywith a particular quadrant set of PDs from the array, allowing beam tracking and spatial diversity. The design wasexplored in a smaller version for higher data rates and a bigger one for higher power harvesting. We report a selfpoweringdevice that can achieve a gross data rate of 25.7 Mbps from a single-input single-output (SISO) and an 85.2Mbps net data rate in a multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) configuration. Under a standard AMT1.5 illumination,the device can harvest up to 87.33 mW, around twice the power needed to maintain the entire system. Our workpaves the way for deploying autonomous IoT devices in harsh environments and their potential use in spaceapplications.

The antibacterial potential of silver nanoparticles（AgNPs） resulted in their increasing incorporation into consumer,industrial and biomedical ***,human and environmental exposure to AgNPs（either as an engineered product or a contaminant）supports the emergent research on the features conferring them different toxicity *** this study,30 ran AgNPs coated with citrate or poly（ethylene glycol）（PEG） were used to assess the influence of coating on the effects produced on a human hepatoma cell line（HepG2）,namely in terms of viability,apoptosis,apoptotic related genes,cell cycle and cyclins gene *** types of coated AgNPs decreased cell proliferation and viability with a similar toxicity *** the concentrations used（11 and 5 μg/mL corresponding to IC50 and-IC10 levels,respectively） the amount of cells undergoing apoptosis was not significant and the apoptotic related genes BCL2（anti-apoptotic gene）and BAX（pro-apoptotic gene） were both ***,both AgNPs affected HepG2 cell cycle progression at the higher concentration（11 μg/mL） by increasing the percentage of cells in S（synthesis phase） and G2（Gap 2 phase） *** the cell-cycle related genes,the expression of cyclin B1 and cyclin E1 genes were ***,this work has shown that citrate- and PEG-coated AgNPs impact on HepG2 apoptotic gene expression,cell cycle dynamics and cyclin regulation in a similar *** research is needed to determine the properties that confer AgNPs at lower toxicity,since their use has proved helpful in several industrial and biomedical contexts.

Neurological complications associated with HIV-1/AIDS are being recognized with a high frequency that parallels the increased number of AIDS cases. The early infiltration by HIV-1 into the nervous system can cause primary and/or secondary neurological complications. The most common neurocognitive disorder is AIDS dementia Complex (ADC). In developing countries of Asia the three most opportunistic infections are tuberculosis (TB), cryptococcosis, and Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia. Therefore, it is expected that secondary neurological complications due to TB and cryptococcosis will be the most common cause of morbility and mortality in HIV-1/AIDS cases in China. Research of NeuroAIDS in China is necessary to understand the impact and the biology of HIV-1 in the nervous system. Future studies would include, the molecular epidemiology and the description of opportunistic infections associated to HIV-1; the neuropathological description of primary and secondary HIV-1 complications in different groups; the HIV-1 neurot- ropism and immune response studies for China’s unique HIV-1 strains and recombinant forms derived from the nervous system, including experimental models such as the use of transgenic rats; and the study of potential resistant virus, primarily when the anti-retroviral therapy (ART) has not full access in the brain.

The objectives of this study were to apply statistical techniques to discriminate fertilization treatments of Eremanthus erythropappus（DC.） Mac *** autoregressive modeling, and to develop individual tree models for diameter and crown area（CA） projection to define management strategies for candeia plantations subjected to different fertilization treatments. This is an important tree species originating from the Brazilian Atlantic Rain forest and Savannah biomes, intensively used in the cosmetic industry. Nonetheless, to date, research has not addressed the management of natural stands or plantations of the species. Our experiment was located in Baependi, Minas Gerais, Brazil, and comprised of four randomized blocks and 13 treatments. The treatments consisted of 12 different regimes of fertilization plus a control. Each sample plot was composed of 50 plants plus two border plants in a planting spacing of 2.5 9 2.0 m and undergoing pruning at 5 and 6 years of age. Starting in the second year, total tree height（H） and circumference（at 1.30 m from the ground or breast height, CBH） were measured every 6 months. Starting in the fifth year CA was measured. Tree growth varied by fertilization *** were detected by using an autoregressive approach, considering that standard statistical methods were not powerful enough to detect significant *** growth groups were formed, and maximum growth was obtained for treatment 10（NPK, 8-28-16）. Management guidelines are provided based on individual tree models for different fertilization levels.

An overview on nucleation theories and models

Several different models for coercivity are discussed. There are two main situations: i) nanocrystalline magnets, with grain size bellow the single domain particle size, and ii) magnets with grain size above single domain particle size. The described theories and models are general, and can be applied in either NdFeB magnets, SmFeCoCuZr or strontium ferrite magnets. The spring effect observed in isotropic nanocrystalline magnets can be explained with the Stoner-Wohlfarth model. Modifications of the StonerWohlfarth model are necessary to take into account the effect of interaction between grains. When the grain size is above the single domain size, energy considerations show that nucleation should occur at the surface of grains. Nucleation is interpreted as a two-step process, where domain wall displacement occurs for grain size above single domain size, after a nucleus is first formed. The effect of grain size on the coercive field is discussed.
