Background:most studies on physical fitness and detraining have been conducted on normal-weight *** results indicate that any gains regress to the untrained control values during the detraining ***,therefore,seems necessary to determine how detraining affects the different fitness parameters in obese *** aim of the present study was to evaluate the effects of detraining(6 months)on kinanthropometry and the components of physical fitness after an intervention(31 months)consisting of a program of exercise and/or diet for obese ***:The participants were 18 boys,aged between 8 and 11 years,divided into E and E+D groups according to the program they *** E group followed a physical exercise program(three 90-minute sessions/week),and the E+D group the same physical exercise program plus a low calorie *** fitness was assessed by the European physical fitness test battery including flamingo balance,plate tapping,sit-andreach,standing broad jump,hand-grip strength,sit-ups,bent-arm hang,10×5-metre shuttle run,and 20-metre endurance shuttle *** Kruskal-Wallis test was applied to reveal overall intergroup differences(E and E+D groups),and measurements showing significant differences were further analysed for differences between individual groups by the mann-Whitney U ***:In both groups,changes were observed in various physical fitness parameters,especially limb speed(E group,P=0.001;E+D group,P=0.002),agility(E group,Pm intervention based on the combination of exercise program and exercise program plus diet in obese boys does not affect the changes attained during the intervention.

This paper aims to update the therapeutical strategies in liver metastasis with complete clinical response(CCR) after chemotherapy and to determine if surgery is always necessary after *** aim of chemotherapy is to achieve a good clinical response rather than CCR of liver *** CCR of liver metastasis after chemotherapy cannot be considered synonymous with a *** resection of the hepatic segment where there was hepatic metastases with CCR after chemotherapy theoretically prevents recurrence,improves survival and makes it possible to conf irm whether there has been a complete pathological ***,the medical literature about this topic is scarce and sometimes contradictory.

Application of micro-morphology in the physical characterization of urban road dust

Urban road dust was collected from Vellore City,Tamil Nadu,India,and *** electron microscopy(SEm)was used to examine road dust from nine sampling locations in the study *** image analysis was used to identify various shape factors of collected dust *** equivalent spherical diameter of most particles was between 10μm and 30μ*** particles had greater concentrations at locations with higher traffic *** were categorized into four classes based on their shape factors,viz.,spherical,mineral,elongated,or *** particles had the smallest mean equivalent diameter(1.95μm)and mineral particles had the largest diameter(33.3μm).Spherical particles made up the smallest portion of road dust(0-12%)in the study region and mineral particles made up the largest(45-65%).Elongated and irregular particles,each made up 23-30%of road *** dispersive X-ray spectroscopy analysis was used to identify the elemental composition of dust *** particles were mostly from combustion sources and mineral particles were largely of crustal *** individual source was found for irregular and elongated *** debris was the major source of irregular particles.

A vast number of physical processes involving oscillations of a bounded viscous fluid are relevantly influenced by acoustic streaming. When this happens a steady circulation of fluid develops in a thin boundary adjacent to the interface. Some examples are refracted sound waves, a fluid inside a spherical cavity undergoing torsional oscillations or a pulsating liquid droplet. Steady streaming around circular interfaces consists of a hemispherically symmetric recirculation of fluid from the equatorial plane to the polar axes closely resembling the meridional circulation pattern observed in the Sun＇s convection zone that determines the solar cycle. In this paper, it is argued that the acoustic pulsations exhibited by the Sun would lead to acoustic streaming in the boundary of the convection zone. A simple estimation using a typical dominant frequency of 3 mHz and the observed surface oscillation amplitude yields a steady streaming velocity Us - 10 m s^-1, which is on the order of the meridional circulation velocity observed in the Sun＇s convection zone.

Paclitaxel （PTX）, one of the most effective cytotoxins for the treatment of breast and lung cancer, is limited by its severe side effects and low tumor selectivity. In this work hollow-poly（4-vinylpyridine）（hollow-p4VP） nanoparticles （NPs） have been used for the first time to generate PTX@p4VP NPs, employing a novel technique in which a gold core in the center of the NP is further oxidized to produce the hollow structure into which PTX molecules can be incorporated. The hollow-p4VP NPs exhibit good physicochemical properties and displayed excellent biocompatibility when tested on blood （no hemolysis） and cell cultures （no cytotoxicity）. Interestingly, PTX@p4VP NPs significantly increased PTX cytotoxicity in human lung （A-549） and breast （mCF-7） cancer cells with a significant reduction of PTX ICs0 （from 5.9 to 3.6 nm in A-549 and from 13.75 to 4.71 nm in mCF-7）. In addition, PTX@p4VP caused a decrease in volume of A-549 and mCF-7 multicellular tumor spheroids （mTS）, an in vitro system that mimics in vivo tumors, in comparison to free PTX. This increased antitumoral activity is accompanied by efficient cell internalization and increased apoptosis, especially in lung cancer mTS. Our results offer the first evidence that hollow- p4VP NPs can improve the antitumoral activity of PTX. This system can be used as a new nanoplatform to overcome the limitations of current breast and lung cancer treatments.

Antisana is a stratovolcano with an associated glacier located in the Ecuadorian Andes. Dr Aguirre made meteorological readings every day, at every hour from sunrise to sunset, from December 1845 to December 1846, at Antisana using a meteorological station at 4060 mamsl （meters above mean sea level）. Unfortunately, only the monthly average data have been preserved. These meteorological data are here studied and compared with the closest modern stations for monthly values of temperature, rainfall, and pressure. According to these comparisons, the year 1846 was rainy and cold in comparison with the current climate. moreover, these observations have been useful to help resolve a debate about a possible E1Nifio event in 1846 with the high precipitation in Antisana and Quito in 1846 discarding the occurrence of an E1 Nifio event. The probable occurrence of a La Nifia event is discussed. These data are the earliest known systematic instrumental meteorological observations taken at above 4000 mamsl.

The cerium （Ce3＋） doped yttrium aluminium borate （YAB） phosphor was synthesized by modified solid state reaction. The phosphor＇s phase purity and its emission properties were studied using powder X-ray diffraction pattern and photoluminescence spectroscopy. The synthesized YAB had rhomobohedral crystal structure. The phosphor had two different excitation and emission spectra. By 325 nm excitation, the phosphor had emission at 373 nm and with 363 nm excitation; the phosphor gave violet-blue emission at 418 nm. The UV emission of the phosphor originated due to Ce3＋ ions at the yttrium site and violet-blue emission owing to Ce3＋ ions at non-regular sites viz., A13＋ and interstitial sites. The emission intensity of the phosphor was enhanced when monovalent ions （K＋, Na＋, and F） were added as co-dopants. The crucial role of ionic radii of monovalent co-dopants on the emission enhancement of the YAB：Ce3＋ phosphor was reported. Thermogravimetric study showed that the YAB possessed high thermal stability at up to 900 ℃.

Profitability analysis of a femtosecond laser system for cataract surgery using a fuzzy logic approach

AIm：To define the financial and management conditions required to introduce a femtosecond laser system for cataract surgery in a clinic using a fuzzy logic ***：In the simulation performed in the current study,the costs associated to the acquisition and use of a commercially available femtosecond laser platform for cataract surgery（VICTUS,TECHNOLAS Perfect Vision GmbH,Bausch ＆ Lomb,munich,Germany） during a period of 5y were considered.A sensitivity analysis was performed considering such costs and the countable amortization of the system during this 5y ***,a fuzzy logic analysis was used to obtain an estimation of the money income associated to each femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery（G）. RESULTS：According to the sensitivity analysis,the femtosecond laser system under evaluation can be profitable if 1400 cataract surgeries are performed per year and if each surgery can be invoiced more than $*** contrast,the fuzzy logic analysis confirmed that the patient had to pay more per surgery,between $661.8 and $667.4 per surgery,without considering the cost of the intraocular lens（IOL）.CONCLUSION：A profitability of femtosecond laser systems for cataract surgery can be obtained after a detailed financial analysis,especially in those centers with large volumes of *** cost of the surgery for patients should be adapted to the real flow of patients with the ability of paying a reasonable range of cost.

Culturable aerobic and facultative bacteria from the gut of the polyphagic dung beetle Thorectes lusitanicus

Unlike other dung beetles, the Iberian geotrupid, Thorectes lusitanicus, exhibits polyphagous behavior; for example, it is able to eat acorns, fungi, fruits, and carrion in addition to the dung of different mammals. This adaptation to digest a wider diet has physiological and developmental advantages and requires key changes in the composition and diversity of the beetle＇s gut microbiota. In this study, we isolated aerobic, facultative anaerobic, and aerotolerant microbiota amenable to grow in culture from the gut contents of T. lusitanicus and resolved isolate identity to the species level by sequencing 16S rRNA gene fragments. Using BLAST similarity searches and maximum likelihood phylogenetic analyses, we were able to reveal that the analyzed fraction （culturable, aerobic, facultative anaerobic, and aerotolerant） of beetle gut microbiota is dominated by the phyla Pro- teobacteria, Firmicutes, and Actinobacteria. Among Proteobacteria, members of the order Enterobacteriales （Gammaproteobacteria） were the most abundant. The main functions associated with the bacteria found in the gut of T. lusitanicus would likely include nitrogen fixation, denitrification, detoxification, and diverse defensive roles against pathogens.
