Involvement of ethylene receptors in the salt tolerance response of Cucurbita pepo

Abiotic stresses have a negative effect on crop production,affecting both vegetative and reproductive *** plays a relevant role in plant response to environmental stresses,but the specific contribution of ethylene biosynthesis and signalling components in the salt stress response differs between Arabidopsis and rice,the two most studied model *** this paper,we study the effect of three gain-of-function mutations affecting the ethylene receptors CpETR1b,CpETR1A,and CpETR2b of Cucurbita pepo on salt stress response during germination,seedling establishment,and subsequent vegetative growth of *** mutations all reduced ethylene sensitivity,but enhanced salt tolerance,during both germination and vegetative growth,demonstrating that the three ethylene receptors play a positive role in salt *** salt stress,etr1b,etr1a,and etr2b germinate earlier than WT,and the root and shoot growth rates of both seedlings and plants were less affected in mutant than in *** enhanced salt tolerance response of the etr2b plants was associated with a reduced accumulation of Na^(+)in shoots and leaves,as well as with a higher accumulation of compatible solutes,including proline and total carbohydrates,and antioxidant compounds,such as *** membrane monovalent cation transporters,including Na^(+)/H^(+)and K^(+)/H^(+)exchangers(NHXs),K^(+)efflux antiporters(KEAs),high-affinity K^(+)transporters(HKTs),and K^(+)uptake transporters(KUPs)were also highly upregulated by salt in etr2b in comparison with *** aggregate,these data indicate that the enhanced salt tolerance of the mutant is led by the induction of genes that exclude Na+in photosynthetic organs,while maintaining K^(+)/Na^(+)homoeostasis and osmotic *** the salt response of etr mutants occurs via the ethylene signalling pathway,our data show that ethylene is a negative regulator of salt tolerance during germination and vegetative ***,the higher upregulation

Comparison on the Pharmacokinetics and Weight Reduction of Clobenzorex Slow Release and Immediate Release Formulations in Obese Patients

Clobenzorex is an anorexigenic drug that is widely used in Mexicofor the treatment of obesity, since it helps to reduce body weight. This drug is available as immediate release capsules. To improve compliance to treatment, it was developed a new slow release formulation. In order to establish its usefulness, oral pharmacokinetics and weight reduction of slow release and immediate release formulations of clobenzorex in obese patients were compared. Sixty patients with a bMI higher than 27 kg/m2 were included in the study. Two groups of 30 patients were formed, one of them received 30 mg immediate release formulation b.i.d. and the other group received one 60 mg slow release formulation once a day, since under this scheme these formulations are prescribed. blood samples were obtained at selected times during the first day and once weekly during 4 weeks. After the last dose, samples were obtained at selected times during 48 h. Plasma levels were determined by HPLC-MS/MS and pharmacokinetic parameters were obtained. Reduction in Cmax due to increased tmax, as well as, increased half-life were observed with the slow release formulation in comparison with immediate release formulation. Although lower plasma levels of clobenzorex were reached with the slow release formulation, reduction of body weight was similar with both products. based on the results, it was concluded that slow release formulation of clobenzorex is an adequate formulation of clobenzorex, since pharmacokinetics and effects observed are compatible with a once a day administration.

Physical Profile of Calbiga River, Samar, Central Philippines

Physical profile is significant reference to in addressing areas at risk due to fluvial processes and in establishing the physiographic maps especially in protected areas. Calbiga is one of the major rivers inside the Samar Island Natural Park (SINP). The source of Calbiga river was traced at the foot of Mt. Huraw of San jose de buan, Samar. The area is at the center of the Samar Island with an elevation of 850 meter above sea level (MASL). The river stretches 36.4 kilometers, with an average span of 44.57 meters, and average depth of 2.6 meters. The average height of the river bank is 7.67 meters, with rage of 5 - 10 meters. Generally, the substrate was sand. On fluvial dynamics, the average water velocity is 0.20 mps with the average water flow of 18.64 m3/sec. The floodplain ranged from 10 - 15 meters and 5 to 7 meters high. The river control measures are making a positive impact, though it could be reviewed to address the low elevation of the midstream. Rehabilitation measures at the watershed should be considered, parallel to the policy implementation of Disaster Risk Reduction Management (DRRM) measures.

The Tribbles(TRIb) family of pseudokinase proteins has been shown to play key roles in cell cycle, metabolic diseases, chronic inflammatory disease, and cancer development. A better understanding of the mechanisms of TRIb pseudokinases could provide new insights for disease development and help promote TRIb proteins as novel therapeutic targets for drug discovery. At the 2 nd International Symposium on Tribbles and Diseases held on May 7–9, 2018 in beijing, China, a group of leading Tribbles scientists reported their findings and ongoing studies about the effects of the different TRIb proteins in the areas of immunity, metabolism, fundamental cell biology and cancer. Here, we summarize important and insightful overviews from 4 keynote lectures, 13 plenary lectures and 8 short talks that took place during this meeting. These findings may offer new insights for the understanding of the roles of TRIb pseudokinases in the development of various diseases.

目的汇总11个开展家庭医疗服务的专业姑息治疗团队效应。设计进行一项回顾性队列研究的汇总分析。地点加拿大，安大略省。参与者3109名在2009-2011年接受专业姑息治疗团队医疗服务的患者（暴露组）及3109名在此期间接受常规医疗服务的患者（非暴露组）。干预措施虽然这些姑息治疗团队所在地区和规模不同，但包含了相同的核心团队成员和角色分配，即能够为患者在其家中提供综合姑息治疗的姑息治疗专科医师、护士和家庭医生，团队任务包括全天候的管理症状、给予医疗信息和治疗措施以及协调服务。主要结局测量指标患者（a）在死亡前最后2周在医院度过；（b）死亡前最后2周有过急诊；（c）在医院内死亡。结果暴露组和非暴露组中癌症患者约占80％，且78％患者接受临终家庭医疗护理服务的平均时间相同。在所有姑息治疗团队中，暴露组中分别有970（31．2％）和896（28．9％）名患者在生命最后2周住院治疗和有急诊经历，而在非暴露组，分别为1219（39．3％）和1070（34．5％）名患者（P〈0．001）。暴露组与非暴露组患者在生命终期住院和经历急诊的汇总相对危险度分别为0．68[95％可信区间（CI，0．61～0．76）]和0．77[95％CI（0．69～0．86）]。与非暴露组相比，暴露组患者选择院内死亡的更少[503（16．2％）比887（28．6％），P〈0．01]，且在医院内濒死的汇总相对危险度为0．46（0．40-0．52）。结论尽管社区专业姑息治疗团队的组成和地区不同，但均能有效降低患者临终时急诊及选择在医院内死亡比例。

Population growth has consequences for intense use of aquatic ecosystems. Samples were taken, between 2013 and 2014, in the reservoirs ＂Algodoeiro＂ and ＂Gloria＂ in Sergipe, brazil. TSI （Trophic State Index） and WQI （Water Quality Index） were used. It was determined the parameters such as conductivity, dissolved oxygen, total nitrogen, total phosphorus and chlorophyll. TSI has been applied, in ＂Algodoeiro＂, which was classified as mesotrophic. With the increase of rainfall in 2014, this reservoir changed its condition to eutrophic. ＂Gloria＂ reservoir was already classified in super-eutrophication. Regarding the WQI, the reservoirs were classified in Class IV, indicating a critically degraded condition.
