Advancing on-chip k.rr optical parametric oscillation towards coherent applications covering the green gap

Optical parametric oscillation(OPO)in k.rr microresonators can efficiently transfer near-infrared laser light into the visible *** date,however,chromatic dispersion has mostly limited output wavelengths to>560 nm,and robust access to the whole green light spectrum has not been *** fact,wavelengths between 532 nm and 633 nm,commonly referred to as the“green gap”,are especially challenging to produce with conventional laser ***,there is motivation to extend the k.rr OPO wavelength range and develop reliable device ***,we experimentally show how to robustly access the entire green gap with k.rr OPO in silicon nitride microrings pumped near 780 *** microring geometries are optimized for green-gap emission;in particular,we introduce a dispersion engineering technique,based on partially undercutting the microring,which not only expands wavelength access but also proves robust to variations in resonator *** just four devices,we generate>150 wavelengths evenly distributed throughout the green gap,as predicted by our dispersion ***,we establish the usefulness of k.rr OPO to coherent applications by demonstrating continuous frequency tuning(>50 GHz)and narrow optical linewidths(k.represents an important step in the quest to bring nonlinear nanophotonics and its advantages to the visible spectrum.

Colorectal carcinoma(CRC)is one of the leading causes of cancer-related deaths worldwide,and up to 50%of patients with CRC develop colorectal liver metastases(CRLM).For these patients,surgical resection remains the only opportunity for cure and long-term *** the past few decades,outcomes of patients with metastatic CRC have improved significantly due to advances in systemic therapy,as well as improvements in operative technique and perioperative *** in the modern era of oxaliplatin-and irinotecancontaining regimens has been augmented by the introduction of targeted biologics and immunotherapeutic *** increasing efficacy of contemporary systemic therapies has led to an expansion in the proportion of patients eligible for curative-intent ***,the use of neoadjuvant strategies is becoming progressively more *** patients with CRLM,the primary advantage of neoadjuvant chemotherapy(NCT)is the potential to down-stage metastatic disease in order to facilitate hepatic *** the other hand,the routine use of NCT for patients with resectable metastases remains controversial,especially given the potential risk.of inducing chemotherapy-associated liver injury prior to *** guidelines recommend upfront surgery in patients with initially resectable disease and low operative risk.reserving NCT for patients with borderline resectable or unresectable disease and high operative *** undergoing NCT require close monitoring for tumor response and conversion of CRLM to *** light of the growing number of treatment options available to patients with metastatic CRC,it is generally agreed that these patients are best served at tertiary centers with an expert multidisciplinary team.

Computational Fluid Dynamics-Discrete Element Method is used to model gas-solid systems in several applications in energy,pharmaceutical and petrochemical *** performance bot-tleneck. often limit the problem sizes that can be simulated at industrial *** data structures used to store several millions of particles in such large-scale simulations have a large memory footprint that does not fit into the processor cache hierarchies on current high-performance-computing platforms,leading to reduced computational *** paper specifically addresses this aspect of memory access bottleneck. in industrial scale *** use of space-flling curves to improve memory access patterns is described and their impact on computational performance is quantified in both shared and distributed memory parallelization *** Morton space flling curve applied to uniform grids and k.dimensional tree partitions are used to reorder the particle data-structure thus improving spatial and temporal locality in *** performance impact of these techniques when applied to two benchmark.problems,namely the homogeneous-cooling-system and a fluidized-bed,are *** optimization techniques lead to approximately two-fold performance improvement in particle focused operations such as neighbor-list creation and data-exchange,with~1.5 times overall improvement in a fluidization simulation with 1.27 million particles.

A Deleted Deletion Site in a New Vector Strain and Exceptional Genomic Stability of Plaque-Purified Modified Vaccinia Ank.ra(MVA)

Vectored vaccines based on highly attenuated modified vaccinia Ank.ra(MVA) are reported to be immunogenic, tolerant to pre-existing immunity, and able to accommodate and stably maintain very large transgenes. MVA is usually produced on primary chick.n embryo fibroblasts, but production processes based on continuous cell lines emerge as increasingly robust and cost-effective alternatives. An isolate of a hitherto undescribed genotype was recovered by passage of a nonplaque-purified preparation of MVA in a continuous anatine suspension cell line(***) in chemically defined *** novel isolate(MVA-CR19) replicated to higher infectious titers in the extracellular volume of suspension cultures and induced fewer syncytia in adherent cultures. We now extend previous studies with the investigation of the point mutations in structural genes of MVA-CR19 and describe an additional point mutation in a regulatory gene. We furthermore map and discuss an extensive rearrangement of the left telomer of MVA-CR19 that appears to have occurred by duplication of the right telomer. This event caused deletions and duplications of genes that may modulate immunologic properties of MVACR19 as a vaccine vector. Our characterizations also highlight the exceptional genetic stability of plaque-purified MVA:although the phenotype of MVA-CR19 appears to be advantageous for replication, we found that all genetic mark.rs that differentiate wildtype and MVA-CR19 are stably maintained in passages of recombinant viruses based on either wildtype or MVA-CR.

The n-body instability is investigated with the soft-sphere discrete element *** divergence of nearby trajectories is quantifed by the dynamical memory *** the inverse proportionality between the dynamical memory time and the largest Lyapunov exponent,the soft-sphere discrete ele-ment method results are compared to previous hard-sphere molecular dynamics data for the first *** agreement is observed at low concentrations and the degree of instability is shown to increase asymptotically with increasing spring *** particle concentrations above 30%,the soft-sphere Lya-punov exponents increase faster than the corresponding hard-sphere *** paper concludes with a demonstration of how this case study may be used in conjunction with regression testing and code verification activities.

Interference from HONO in the measurement of ambient air NO2 via photolytic conversion and quantification of NO

The reference method to quantify mixing ratios of the criteria air pollutant nitrogen dioxide(NO_(2)) is NO-O_(3) chemiluminescence(CL), in which mixing ratios of nitric oxide(NO) are measured by sampling ambient air directly, and mixing ratios of NO_(x)(= sum of NO and NO_(2))are measured by converting NO_(2) to NO using, for example, heated molybdenum catalyst or,more selectively, photolytic conversion(P-CL).In this work. the nitrous acid(HONO) interference in the measurement of NO_(2) by P-CL was *** with two photolytic NO2 converters are *** first used radiation centered at 395 nm, a wavelength region commonly utilized in *** second used light at 415 nm, where the overlap with the HONO absorption spectrum and hence its photolysis rate are *** ratios of NO_(2),NO_(x) and HONO entering and exiting the converters were quantified by Thermal Dissociation Cavity Ring-down Spectroscopy(TD-CRDS).Both converters exhibited high NO_(2) conversion efficiency(CF_(NO2);> 90%) and partial conversion of *** of CF against flow rate were consistent with photolysis frequencies of 4.2 s^(-1) and 2.9 s^(-1) for NO_(2) and 0.25 s^(-1) and 0.10 s^(-1) for HONO at 395 nm and 415 nm, *** larger than predicted from the overlap of the emission and HONO absorption *** results imply that measurements of NO2 by P-CL marginally but systematically overestimate true NO_(2) concentrations,and that this interference should be considered in environments with high HONO:NO_(2) ratios such as the marine boundary layer or in biomass burning plumes.
