The human fingertip consists of a fingerprint with many micro-grating *** main roles of the fingerprint could be divided into two purposes,namely,the enhancement of the frictional force and the effective transmittance of the *** this study,we present the fingerprint-inspired end-effector that has not only admirable frictional force but also electric *** end-effector is composed of fluorocarbon rubber,one of the famous materials to achieve high frictional force and *** various experiments,the novel performance of micro structured fluorocarbon rubber end-effector(MSFE)is characterized by comparing with a macroscale patterned sample(MPS),which has been already used in real industrial *** results are analyzed ***,as feasible applications,we suggest two applications based on the role of the *** is the conductive astronaut glove with high frictional force,and the other one is a non-slip pad for the next-generation glass transfer *** these experiments,we successfully observe the enhanced system performance and confirm the possibility of using the MSFE as feasible *** believe that the MSFE could be a useful and powerful alternative as an end-effector,not only in the aerospace industry but also in display manufacturing processes.

Flexible hydrogels are receiving significant attention for their application in wearable ***,most hydrogel materials exhibit weak and one-time adhesion,low sensitivity,ice crystallization,water evaporation,and poor self-recovery,thereby limiting their application as *** issues are only partly addressed in previous ***,a multiplecrosslinked poly(2-(methacryloyloxy)ethyl)dimethyl-(3-sulfopropyl)ammonium hydroxide-co-acrylamide)(P(SBMA-co-AAm))multifunctional hydrogel is prepared via a one-pot synthesis method to overcome the aforementioned ***,ions,glycerol,and 2-(methacryloyloxy)ethyl)dimethyl-(3-sulfopropyl)ammonium hydroxide are incorporated to reduce the freezing point and improve the moisture retention *** proposed hydrogel is superior to existing hydrogels because it exhibits good stretchability(a strain of 2900%),self-healing properties,and transparency through effective energy dissipation in its dynamic crosslinked ***,2-(methacryloyloxy)ethyl)dimethyl-(3-sulfopropyl)ammonium hydroxide as a zwitterion monomer results in an excellent gauge factor of 43.4 at strains of 1300-1600%by improving the ion transportability and achieving a strong adhesion of 20.9 kPa owing to the dipole-dipole *** proposed hydrogel is promising for next-generation biomedical applications,such as soft robots,and health monitoring.

AIM:To investigate the efficacy of cap-fitted colonoscopy(CFC) with regard to cecal intubation ***:Two hundred and ninety-five patients undergoing screening colonoscopy at Gospel Hospital,Kosin University College of Medicine were enrolled in this randomized controlled trial between January and December *** were conducted by a single *** characteristics including age,sex,body mass index,history of abdominal surgery,quality of preparation,and the presence of diverticulosis were ***:One hundred and fifty patients were allocated into a CFC group and 145 into a non-CFC(NCF) *** intubations were achieved in all *** intubation time in the CFC group was significantly shorter than in the NCF group for specific conditions:age ≥ 60 years,prior abdominal surgery,and poor bowel *** number of detected adenomas was higher in the CFC group than in the NCF group(P = 0.040).CONCLUSION:CFC facilitated shortening of the cecal intubation time in difficult cases,and was more sensitive for detecting adenomas than was NCF.

Distant skeletal muscle metastasis from intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma presenting as Budd-Chiari syndrome

Intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma is a malignant neoplasm arising from the biliary epithelium, which frequently invades adjacent organs or metastasizes to other visceral organs such as the lungs, bones, adrenals, and brain. However, distant skeletal muscle metastasis of cholangiocarcinoma has never been described before to the best of our knowledge and, furthermore, Budd-Chiari syndrome secondary to intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma is also extremely rare. Here we present the first case overall of distant muscle metastasis from intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma presenting as Budd-Chiari syndrome. A 44-year-old man admitted to the hospital with complaints of abdominal distension, edema of both legs, back pain and anorexia of 30 d' duration. Computed tomography and ultrasonography-guided percutaneous muscle biopsy established intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma with disseminated thrombosis from inferior vena cava to bilateral iliac and femoral veins, and multiple skeletal muscle metastases in bilateral buttock and erector spinal muscle.

To compare the impact of transurethral resection of prostate （TURP） on symptom scores and maximal flow rates （Qmax） in patients with equivocal bladder outlet obstruction （BOO） and definite BOO and to assess the relationship between the surgical outcomes and degree of preoperative BOO, we prospectively evaluated men with lower urinary tract symptoms and bladder outlet obstruction index （BOO1） greater than 20, who were refractory to conventional medical treatment and underwent TURP. Urodynamic evaluation, International Prostate Symptom Score （IPSS）, uroflowmetry, post-void residual volume （PVR） check and transrectal ultrasound were performed. 20〈B001〈40 was defined as equivocal BOO and BOO1 〉~40 as definite BOO. Changes of IPSS, Qmax, PVR and correlation analysis was performed between the degree of improvement of Qmax, subdomains of I PSS and BOO1. Fifty-four patients showed equivocal BOO and 80 patients showed definite BOO. Preoperatively equivocal BOO group and definite BOO group showed significant differences in maximal bladder capacity and prevalence of detrusor overactivity, whereas no difference was noted in prostate volume. Postoperatively both groups showed improvements in Qmax, obstructive （IPSSO） and irritative （IPSSI） subdomain of IPSS, but the degree of improvement in Qmax and IPSSI subdomain was statistically significantly greater in definite BOO group. The degree of improvement of Qmax and IPSSI showed weak correlation with preoperative BOO1. As a weak correlation was identified between preoperative degree of BOO and outcome of TURP, other factors other than BOO1 such as severity of patients＇ symptoms should be considered in deciding treatment modality.

In this study, we aimed to investigate the prevalence and perception of premature ejaculation （PE） in young and middle-aged Korean men. The study was conducted using an Internet-assisted questionnaire. A total of 2 037 Korean male adults, aged 20 years or older, were randomly sampled based on age and residency. The questionnaire developed by the PE Study Group of the Korean Andrological Society includes four categories （overall sexual function, symptoms, distress and treatment） with a total of 16 questions. For each question, symptoms were evaluated by a scale ranging from 0 to 10. Intravaginal ejaculation latency time was ‘5-10 min＇ in 38.6%, followed by ‘longer than 10 min＇ in 2919%, ‘2-5 min＇ in 23.6%, ‘1-2 min＇ in 5.4% and ‘shorter than 1 min＇ in 2.5%. In our series, 27.5% of respondents reported having PE. Control over ejaculation within a recent 3-month period was 6.2 points on average. Respondent complaints of PE-related stress averaged 7.1 points and stress-related complaints from sexual partners averaged 7.1 points. The effect of PE on sexual life was 6.8 points. Of the respondents determined as having PE, 42.6% responded that they were inclined to receive treatment. Results from this study suggest that the prevalence of PE diagnosed by the respondent on his own was approximately 27.5% in young and middle-aged men in Korea. PE-related stress had a significant effect on the stress, sexual activity and quality of life of the respondent and his sexual partner.

Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi is the most widely used medicinal plant in traditional Eastem medicine, especially in Chinese medicine. The major phytochemicals isolated from S. baicalensis are flavonoids, glycosides and their glucoronides such as baicalin, baicalein, wogonin etc. More than 30 different kinds of flavonoids are isolated from this plant. S. baicalensis and its flavonoids are reported to have several pharmacological activities, which includes anti-allergic, antioxidant, anti apoptic, anti-inflammatory effects and many more. Recently, S. baicalensis and its isolated flavonoids have been studied for their neuroprotective effects, through a variety of in vitro and in vivo models of neurodegenerative diseases, plausibly suggesting that S. baicalensis has salutary effect as a nature＇s blessing for neuroprotection. In this review, we are focousing on the neuroprotective effects of S. baicalensis and its flavonoids in ischemia or stroke-induced neuronal cell death. We aimed at compiling all the information regarding the neuroprotective effect of S. baicalensis in various experimental models of cerebral ischemia or stroke.

Preparation of glucosamine by hydrolysis of chitosan with commercial α-amylase and glucoamylase

Objective： In order to overcome the defects of chemical hydrolysis approach to prepare glucosamine, an enzymatic hydrolysis method was developed. Methods： Glucosamine was prepared by hydrolyzing chitosan, em- ploying e-amylase initially, and subsequently, glucoamylase. Results： The optimal hydrolyzing conditions were as follows： reaction time, 4 h; pH, 5.0; temperature, 50 ℃; and, α-amylase, 80 U/g for the initial reaction. Subsequently, glucoamylase was added in the presence of a-amylase. The optimal reaction conditions were found to be： reaction time, 8 h; pH, 4.5; temperature, 55 ℃; and, glucoamylase, 4000 U/g. The hydrolysates were subject to filtrating, concentrating to about 20% （w/w）, precipitating with five volumes of ethanol, and drying at 60 ℃ for 2 h. The content and the yield of glucosamine in the dried precipitate were 91.3% （w/w） and 86.2% （w/w）, respectively. Conclusions： The method developed in this study is a promising option in the preparation of glucosamine.

Most modern tall buildings using lighter construction materials are more flexible, which can lead to excessive wind-induced vibrations resulting in occupant discomfort and structural unsafety. It is necessary to predict and mitigate such wind-induced vibration at the preliminary design stage. Fluctuating across and along-wind loads acting on a tall building that could not be formulated theoretically were simulated numerically in the time domain using known across and along-wind load spectra. These simulated wind loads were used to estimate the across and along-wind responses of a tall building, which are less narrow-banded processes, based on the state space variable approach. The simulated across-wind response of root-mean-square value(0.0047) and that of KAREEM's(0.0040) and the simulated along-wind response of root-mean-square value(0.021) and that of SOLARI's(0.027) were compared. It is found that these are good approximations of closed form responses. Therefore, these numerically simulated across and along-wind loads can be used for across and along-wind responses estimation for the wind-resistant design of a tall building at the preliminary design stage.
