Endoscopic submucosal dissection(ESD) is a highly refined technique compared to conventional endoscopic mucosal *** enables complete resection of early gastric cancer(EGC) which has no possibility of lymph node *** for ESD of EGC generally entails early gastric cancer confined to the mucosa with well differentiated histology,though there are clinically suitable expanded *** ESD requires specific skill and expertise,endoscopists need to be familiarized with basic methods and the use of special *** essence of the technique is to dissect the submucosal layer with direct vision and maintain thecutting plane above the underlying proper muscle *** there are some differences in the detailed technical aspect,the cardinal method of ESD is now well established and ***,research and development of new ESD devices that render more efficient,safe ESD are still in progress to improve the overall result of ESD on early gastric cancer.

While the demand for deep ultraviolet(DUV)light sources is rapidly growing,the efficiency of current AlGaN-based DUV light-emitting diodes(LEDs)remains very low due to their fundamentally limited light-extraction efficiency(LEE),calling for a novel LEE-enhancing approach to deliver a real ***,we propose sidewall emission-enhanced(SEE)DUV LEDs having multiple light-emitting mesa stripes to utilize inherently strong transverse-magnetic polarized light from the AlGaN active region and three-dimensional reflectors between the *** SEE DUV LEDs show much enhanced light output power with a strongly upward-directed emission due to the exposed sidewall of the active region and Al-coated selective-area-grown n-type GaN *** devices also show reduced operating voltage due to better n-type ohmic contact formed on the regrown n-GaN stripes when compared with conventional ***,the proposed approach simultaneously improves optical and electrical *** addition,strategies to further enhance the LEE up to the theoretical optimum value and control emission directionality are discussed.

Mesotherapy and anti-obesity medications are gradually gaining worldwide popularity for purposes of body contouring and weight *** adverse effects are various,but there is a tendency to disregard *** colitis is one of the most common diseases associated with non-obstructive blood vessel ***,there have been no case reports about the adverse effects resulting from mesotherapy only or in combination with anti-obesity *** report on an interesting case of ischemic colitis after mesotherapy combined with anti-obesity medications in a 39-year-old female who had no risk factors.

Gastrointestinal stromal tumor is rare, which arises from the mesenchymal tissues in the gastrointestinal tract, and it is extremely rare in the appendix. Only a few cases have been found in this location to date. Although the annual incidence of lower gastrointestinal bleeding has been increasing, bleeding related to the appendix is quite rare. We herein present a very rare case of gastrointestinal stromal tumor incidentally found by appendiceal hemorrhage.

AIM:To evaluate the efficacy and acceptability of magnesium citrate and a single dose of oral sodium phosphate(45 mL) solution for morning colonoscopy bowel preparation. METHODS:A total of 159 patients were randomly assigned to receive two split doses of 90 mg of sodium phosphate(GroupⅠ,n=79) or magnesium citrate(250 mL,the day before the procedure) followed by 45 mL of sodium phosphate(the day of procedure,GroupⅡ,n= 80) .The quality of bowel cleansing and the acceptability of each regimen were compared,including the satisfaction,taste,willing to repeat and adverse effects of each regimen. RESULTS:The quality of bowel cleansing of GroupⅡ was as good as that of GroupⅠ(An Aronchick scale score of good or excellent:70.9%vs 81.0%,respectively,P=0.34;the Ottawa system score:4.4±2.6 vs 3.8 ±3.0,respectively,P=0.76) .There was no statisticallysignificant difference between both groups with regard to acceptability,including the satisfaction,taste and willingness to repeat the regimen.A significantly greater number of older patients(over 65 years old) in Group Ⅱgraded the overall satisfaction as satisfactory(48.1% vs 78.1%,respectively;GroupⅠvs GroupⅡ,P=0.01) . There were no significant adverse reactions. CONCLUSION:Magnesium citrate and a single dose of sodium phosphate was as effective and tolerable as the conventional sodium phosphate regimen and is a satisfactory option.

Congenital absence of the splenic artery is a very rare *** the best of our knowledge, congenital absence of the splenic artery accompanied with absence of the splenic vein has not been *** report a case of the absence of the splenic artery and vein in a 61-year-old woman who presented with postprandial epigastric discomfort. Upper gastrointestinal endoscopy showed a dilated, pulsatile vessel in the fundus and duodenal stenosis. An abdominal computed tomography(CT)scan revealed absence of the splenic vein with a tortuously engorged gastroepiploic ***-dimensional CT demonstrated the tortuously dilated left gastric artery and the left gastroepiploic artery with non-visualization of the splenic *** administration of a proton pump inhibitor,abdominal symptoms resolved without any recurrence of symptoms during 6 mo of follow-up.

BACKGROUND Ulcerative colitis(UC)is characterised by mucosal inflammation from the rectum to its proximal area in a symmetric and continuous ***,although uncommon,we encounter cases of UC with rectal sparing in the initial *** To evaluate the clinical characteristics and clinical course for rectal sparing UC compared with typical *** We looked at records from 2004 to 2015,and selected patients who were newly diagnosed with UC,and who could be followed up for at least 5 years in our *** then retrospectively analysed the medical records and endoscopic findings of those *** compare the clinical course and prognosis,we matched each patient with rectal sparing UC 1:3 with controls by age,sex,and disease *** Of 619 UC patients,24(3.9%)showed rectal sparing at *** the follow-up period(median 8 years),in two(8.3%)of the 24 patients,rectal sparing remained through follow-up inspections;but for the other 22(91.7%)patients,obvious rectal inflammation was found at follow-up *** the 24 patients,8(33.3%)were initially misdiagnosed with infectious *** diagnosis was changed to Crohn’s *** uses of corticosteroid or biologic agents,hospitalisation rate,and colectomy rates were not different between the rectal sparing UC group and typical UC *** Some patients with UC can reveal atypical patterns of disease distribution,such as rectal sparing in its initial stage;but despite this,the clinical course and prognosis may not differ from those of typical UC patients.

Colloidal crystallization serves as one of the most economic and scalable production methods for photonic ***,insufficient optical performance,nonuniformity and low reproducibility remain challenges for advanced high-value *** this study,we optimally formulate a photocurable dispersion of silica particles and apply shear flow to unify the orientation of the colloidal crystals,ensuring high optical performance and *** silica particles experience strong repulsion at ultrahigh volume fractions of 50%but demonstrate low mobility,leading to polycrystalline *** shear flow to the dispersions allows the silica particles to rearrange into larger crystalline domains with a unidirectional orientation along the *** shear-induced structural change produces absolute reflectivity at the stopband as high as 90%and a high transparency of 90%at off-resonant wavelengths with minimal diffusive ***,the strong interparticle repulsion ensures a uniform volume fraction of particles throughout the dispersion,reducing deviations in the optical *** intricately micropattern the photocurable dispersions using ***,the photonic films and patterns can be stacked to form multiple layers,displaying mixed structural colors and multiple reflectance peaks without sacrificing *** superior photonic materials hold promise for various optical applications,including optical components and anticounterfeiting patches.
