Global climate change has a significant effect on species,as environment conditions change,causing many species'distributions to *** the last three million years,the earth has experienced glacial oscillations,forcing some species to survive in ice-free refugia during glacial periods and then disperse *** this study,by assessing the potential distribution of Siberian Grouse(Falcipennis falcipennis),we used Global Circular Models and Representative Concentration Pathways to model their pattern of range changes during glacial oscillations and the potential impact of present global *** used 158 location records of Siberian Grouse to generate a full climate model using 19 bioclimate variables in *** discarded variables with a correlation coefficient larger than 0.8 and relatively lower modeling contributions between each pair of correlated *** the remaining variables,we created a normally uncorrelated simple climate model to predict the possible distribution of Siberian Grouse from the most recent Ice Age to present and to *** we added geographical data and the human interference index to construct a multiple factor full model to evaluate which were important in explaining the distribution of Siberian *** Total Suitability Zone(P≥0.33)of Siberian Grouse is about 243,000km^(2) and the Maximum Suitability Zone(P≥0.66)is 36,000km^(2) and is confined to the Russian Far *** habitat modeling suggested that annual precipitation,annual mean temperature,and the distance from lakes are the most explanatory variables for the current distribution of Siberian *** distribution center moved to the southeast during the Last Glacial Maximum and spread back to the northwest after the ice melted and temperatures *** total area range of Siberian Grouse experienced a dramatic loss during the Last Glacial *** warming is presently forcing the Siberian Grouse to migrate northward with a contraction of

Aminopeptidase N （APN/CD13） and neutral endopeptidase （NEP/CD10） are enzymes present in human sperm cells and involved in regulation of sperm motility of noncapacitated spermatozoa. We investigated the involvement of APN/CD 13 and NEP/CD 10 in motility and in kinematic parameters of human capacitated spermatozoa. Sperm cells isolated by a discontinuous Percoll gradient （40%-80%） followed up by swim-up techniques were incubated with the APN/CD 13 -specific inhibitor, leuhistin （100 μmol L^-1）, and the NEP/CD 10-specific inhibitor, thiorphan （1 μmol L^-1）. The complete inhibition of both APN/CD 13 and NEP/CD 10 improved sperm motility. Spermatozoa incubated with the APN/CD13-specific inhibitor lenhistin showed asymmetrical trajectories, whereas sperm trajectories were more regular after treatment with the NEP/CD 10-specific inhibitor thiorphan. In conclusion, APN/CD 13 and NEP/CD 10 modulate the motility of capacitated spermatozoa, although each of the enzymes seems to participate in the control of different aspects of sperm motility. Therefore, both inhibitors may be useful for sperm activation at different functional stages of spermatozoa.

在Beryl湾发育南北向、北西向和北东向三组正断层。根据北海维京地堑Beryl淘73口井的高分辨率层序地层学分析和高分辨率沉降分析，阐明中、晚侏罗世沉积和沉降模式，确定应力场的变化及边界断层的连锁对沉积和含油气系统的控制作用。高分辨率（1～2Ma）允许评价不同走向断层随时间的演化。不仅阐明了东舍德兰断层连锁的时间和机制，而且阐明了对沉积相的控制作用。研究结果表明，在中、晚侏罗世同裂谷期Beryl湾伸展方向发生了45°的顺时针旋转；东舍德兰断层在早、中牛津期由两段连锁为一条统一的断层。

Recent studies investigating possible causes of male subfertility have largely focused on how lifestyle or environmental factors impact on the process of spermatogenesis, Markedly, fewer studies have investigated those risk factors that result in reduced sperm quality, such as poor sperm motility. The speed at which sperm swim is a major predictor of fertility and is extremely variable in human populations. It has been hypothesized that offspring sex may be adaptively manipulated to maximize the offspring＇s reproductive fitness （e.g., parents with genes for good male fertility traits, such as high sperm speed, would produce primarily sons and fewer daughters because the offspring will inherit advantageous male fertility genes）. Conversely, parents with poor male fertility genes would produce primarily daughters, We tested whether there was an association between how fast a man＇s sperm swam and the sex bias of his siblings in a sample of men attending clinic for fertility investigations with their partner and with a wide range of semen characteristics, including sperm speed. We found that the sex bias of a man＇s siblings is associated with his sperm speed; men with female-biased siblings had significantly slower sperm （judged using computer-assisted sperm analysis （CASA）） than men from male-biased sibships. This observation suggests family composition is an important factor that needs to be considered in future eDidemiological and clinical studies of human fertility,

Summer sea-surface temperatures and climate events on the North Icelandic shelf through the last 3000 years

Diatom data from core MD992271 on the North Icelandic shelf record a cooling trend through the last 3000 years. This is indicated by a general decrease in warm water species and an increase in cold water taxa. The relative abundance of these two diatom groups changed periodically, suggesting that the climate also fluctuated within this time period. The results of diatom-based transfer function calculation show that the summer sea-surface temperatures (SSTs) before 1400 cal. a BP were generally higher than the mean value for the last 3000 years and the summer SSTs fluctuated around the mean between 1400 and 700 cal. a BP, and dropped to the values below the mean after 700 cal. a BP. Four cooling events were distinguished, centered at around 2600, 1900, 1300 and 600 cal. a BP respectively. The results are not only consistent with the data from neighbouring cores HM107-03 and MD992275, but also comparable with those from the GISP2 ice core and from other marine sediment records in the North Atlantic. This suggests that changes in the summer SSTs reflect regional climate variations in the North Atlantic. On the North Icelandic shelf, the summer SST variation is a result of changes in the in-teraction between the cold and the warm currents in the area.

Longhorn beetles are among the most important groups of invasive forest in-sects *** parallel,they represent one of the most well-studied insect groups interms of chemical *** beetle aggregation-sex pheromones are commonlyused as trap lures for specific and generic surveillance programs at points of entry andmay play a key role in determining the success or failure of exotic species *** exotic species might be more likely to establish in a novel habitat if it relies on apheromone channel that is different to that of native species active at the same time of yearand day,allowing for unhindered mate location(i.e.,pheromone-free space hypothesis).Inthis study,we first tested the attractiveness of single pheromone components(i.e.,racemic3-hydroxyhexan-2-one,racemic 3-hydroxyoctan-2-one,and syn-2,3-hexanediol),and theirbinary and tertiary combinations,to native and exotic longhorn beetle species in Canadaand ***,we exploited trap catches to determine their seasonal flight ***,we used pheromone-baited"timer traps"to determine longhorn beetle daily *** response to single pheromones and their combinations was mostly speciesspecific but the combination of more than one pheromone component allowed catch ofmultiple species simultancously in *** response of the exotic species to pheromonecomponents,coupled with results on seasonal and daily flight activity,provided partialsupport for the pheromone-free space *** study aids in the understanding oflonghorn beetle chemical ecology and confirms that pheromones can play a key role inlonghorn beetle invasions.

Plants are capable of coordination of their growth and development with ambient *** FLOWERING3(ELF3), an essential component of the plant circadian clock, is also involved in ambient temperature sensing, as well as in inhibiting the expression and protein activity of the thermoresponsive regulator phytochrome interacting factor4(PIF4). The ELF3 activity is subjected to attenuation in response to warm temperature;however,how the protein level of ELF3 is regulated at warm temperature remains less understood. Here, we report that the E3 ligase XB3 ORTHOLOG 5 IN ARABIDOPSIS THALIANA, XBAT35, mediates ELF3 degradation. XBAT35 interacts with ELF3 and ubiquitinates ELF3. Loss-of-function mutation of XBAT35 increases the protein level of ELF3 and confers a short-hypocotyl phenotype under warm temperature conditions. Thus, our findings establish that XBAT35 mediates ELF3 degradation to lift the inhibition of ELF3 on PIF4 for promoting thermoresponsive hypocotyl growth in plants.

Expanding the fuel flexibility of continuous combustion systems to include multiphase fuel combustion offers additional support to combat the problem of energy security and,potentially,environmental *** this study,apart from establishing stability limits and measuring post-combustion emissions,flames generated from simultaneous combustion of biodiesel and syngas were examined using C_(2)*and CH*chemiluminescence imaging to capture changes in the reaction *** proportion of syngas in the fuel mix was varied from 0 to 30%content(by energy contribution)while maintaining a total power output of 15 *** overall equivalence ratio was held at 0.7 in cases other than for determining the flammability *** results indicate a reduction of stability limits as gas proportion in fuel blend ***,chemiluminescence imaging of the two targeted species suggest a general reduction in reaction rate as well as reaction zone area and length with increase in gas ratio in the dual phase ***,emissions performance in the context of NOxand CO was investigated as liquid-to-gas ratios were ***,the study demonstrates the feasibility,limitations and potential benefits of multiphase renewable fuel combustion in a swirl-stabilised burner.
