Introduction Purple acid phosphatases （PAPs） comprise of a family of binuclear metal-containing hydrolases, some members of which have been isolated and characterized from animal, plant and fungal sources . The test of Prentice [1] is a non-parametric statistical test for the two-way analysis of variance using ranks. The null distribution of this test typically is approximated using the Chi-square distribution. However, the exact null distribution deviates from the Chi-square approximation in certain cases commonly found in applications of the test, motivating adjustments to the distribution. This manuscript presents adjustments to this null distribution correcting for continuity, multivariate skewness, and multivariate kurtosis. The effects of alternative scoring methods as non-polynomial functions of rank sums are also presented as a broader application of the approximation.

目前尚不清楚哪些环境因素决定了热带稀树草原特别是在潮湿地带的林地和草地镶嵌处的林地和草地的物种多度。基于此,本研究探究了非生物和空间变量对印度东北部的台拉河生态系统木本和草本物种分布的影响,评估了气候和非气候因素在整个景观中保持可变的树草比和空间连通性和分散性的相对重要性。在519 km^(2)的受保护的特莱栖息地中随机建立了134个30 m×30 m的抽样样方,并调查了每个样方的木本和草本植物的物种多度和气候,以及非气候环境因素。基于不同的地点空间连通性模型,通过构建变量检验气候和非气候环境因素对物种多度的影响。使用冗余分析和方差分解定量解析环境变量和空间结构对林地和草地物种多度的相对重要性。研究结果表明,降雨、火灾、水分胁迫、地形和土壤养分在内的环境变量对物种多度和林草比有显著的影响。空间结构显著,最佳空间模型为反距离加权模型(inverse distance-weighted model),而且显示最大的空间扩散距离可以达到23.5 km,表明扩散限制较弱。约21%的物种多度变化能够被环境和空间因素解释。这些结果揭示了植物群落动态的决定因素,即环境因子的时空变化可能驱动物种分布和多度的随机性,并对植被镶嵌产生主导影响。

Integration of the Coupled Orbit-Attitude Dynamics Using Modified Chebyshev-Picard Iteration Methods

This paper presents Modified Chebyshev-Picard Iteration(MCPI)methods for long-term integration of the coupled orbit and attitude *** most orbit predictions for operational satellites have assumed that the attitude dynamics is decoupled from the orbit dynamics,the fully coupled dynamics is required for the solutions of uncontrolled space debris and space objects with high area-to-mass ratio,for which cross sectional area is constantly changing leading to significant change on the solar radiation pressure and atmospheric *** is a set of methods for solution of initial value problems and boundary value *** methods refine an orthogonal function approximation of long-time-interval segments of state trajectories iteratively by fusing Chebyshev polynomials with the classical Picard iteration and have been applied to multiple challenging aerospace *** the studies on integrating a torque-free rigid body rotation and a long-term integration of the coupled orbit-attitude dynamics through the effect of solar radiation pressure,MCPI methods are shown to achieve several times speedup over the Runge-Kutta 7(8)methods with several orders of magnitudes of better *** methods are further optimized by integrating the decoupled dynamics at the beginning of the iteration and coupling the full dynamics when the attitude solutions and orbit solutions are converging during the *** approach of decoupling and then coupling during iterations provides a unique and promising perspective on the way to warm start the solution process for the longterm integration of the coupled orbit-attitude ***,an attractive feature of MCPI in maintaining the unity constraint for the integration of quaternions within machine accuracy is illustrated to be very appealing.

Instead of studying the impact of media on society,the traditional"top down"orientation of most communication studies scholars,this keynote presentation adopted the opposite perspective,exploring the"bottom-up"impact of"society"on"media".Unlike conventional"agenda-setting theory",which suggests that nationally prominent news media set issue"agendas"for other news media and public opinion,and also unlike the"guard dog"view that media essentially protect the interests of political and economic elites,the"community structure theory"explores links between different community(typically city or nation-state)demographics and variations in reporting on critical health *** his scholarship on health communication presented and published over decades,the speaker outlined community structure theory's illumination of two overall patterns in US and cross-national coverage of health communication *** US coverage,broad measures of economically"buffered"privilege(educational,income,or occupational advantage)are linked to"favorable"or"government responsibility"coverage of health issues,and specific measures of"health"privilege(physicians,hospitals)are connected to"favorable"or"government responsibility"coverage promoting selected health *** cross-national coverage,specific measures of national"health vulnerability"(such as percent without improved water access,infant mortality rate)are linked to"government"responsibility coverage for selected health issues(human trafficking,water handling/contamination).In addition,broad measures of"macro"vulnerability conditions(agricultural dependence,political instability)are associated with"government"responsibility coverage for a wide range of health issues(genetically modified foods,drug trafficking,condom promotion,and food security).Overall,community structure theory's"bottom up"perspective reveals how the vulnerable are empowered by their demographic alignment with variations in health communication.

Johanson-Blizzard syndrome (JBS) is a rare genetic disorder characterized by multiple craniofacial abnormalities, intellectual disability, sensorineural hearing loss, pancreatic exocrine insufficiency, and involvement of other organ systems to varying degrees. Patients with JBS may require surgical intervention to address the underlying phenotypic abnormalities. The many craniofacial abnormalities found in patients with JBS are a concern for the anesthesiologist. We present the case of an adult patient with JBS who is undergoing implantation of a leadless pacemaker. Considering the many cardiac and craniofacial abnormalities in these patients, the anesthesiologist should order diagnostic tests such as echocardiography to assess cardiac function, as well as be prepared to perform advanced airway techniques for difficult airways. The anesthetic provider should be aware of the varied phenotypic expression of JBS and should individualize the anesthetic plan to each patient. Prior medical literature on the anesthetic management of these patients is scarce and limited to pediatric patients. This is the first case report addressing anesthetic concerns in an adult patient with JBS.

Diamondback terrapins(Malaclemys terrapin)inhabit estuaries in eastern USA and may tolerate salinity of seawater for short *** North American estuaries are adversely affected by anthropogenic impacts,such as pollution,dredging and invasion by non-native *** nesting areas have been altered or destroyed,causing terrapins to nest on roadsides and artificial islands made of dredged substrate from bottom *** by non-native plants may suppress development and reduce survival of *** Barnegat Bay,New jersey,USA,there is a mosaic of natural and degraded terrapin nesting *** investigated the effects of dredge soil and shade on the hatching success of diamondback terrapins to determine whether nesting habitat could be increased by using dredged bottom *** year 1,unshaded nests in natural loamy-sand had the highest hatching success(55.2%),while nests in dredge soil produced no *** year 2,nests in unshaded loamy-sand had a hatching success of 85.3%,whereas those in dredge soil,aged 1 year,had a hatching success of 59.4%.Dredge soil improved as an incubation substrate after aging 1 year by the washout of *** temperatures were generally cool and produced mostly male *** dredge soil may provide suitable nesting substrates for diamondback terrapins if used after one year,and may be particularly beneficial if used for constructing islands that provide new nesting sites with reduced access of mammalian predators.

The GSSP for the base of the Eocene Series is located at 1.58 m above the base of Section DRH in the Dababiya Quarry, on the east bank of the Nile River, about 35 km south of Luxor, Egypt. It is the base of Bed 1 of the Dababyia Quarry Beds of the El Mahmiya Member of the Esna Formation, interpreted as having recorded the basal inflection of the carbon isotope excursion (CIE), a prominent (3 to 5%) geochemical signature which is recorded in marine (deep and shallow) and terrestrial settings around the world. The Paleocene/Eocene boundary is thus truly a globally correlatable chronostratigraphic level. It may be correlated also on the basis of 1) the mass extinction of abyssal and bathyal benthic foraminifera (Stensioina beccariiformis microfauna), and reflected at shallower depths by a minor event; 2) the transient occurrence of the excursion taxa among the planktonic foraminifera (Acarinina africana, A. sibaiyaensis, Morozovella allisonensis); 3) the transient occurrence of the Rhomboaster spp. - Discoaster araneus (RD) assemblage; 4) an acme of the dinoflagellate Apectodinium complex. The GSSP-defined Paleocene/Eocene boundary is approximately 0.8 my older than the base of the standard Eocene Series as defined by the Ypresian Stage in epicontinental northwestern Europe.
