Real-world.fuel-based.emission factors （EFs） from Caterpillar 797B d.esel heavy haulers when used.for oil sand. mining operations were measured.using an on-hoard.portable emissions monitoring system. Average EFs （in g/kg fuel） for 16 separate tests on four trucks were 3150 ± 4 for CO2, 2.51 ± 1.30 for CH4, 10.28 ± 3.21 for CO, 0.61 ± 0.32 for non-methane hyd.ocarbons, 55.49 ± 9,75 for NOx （reported.as NO2）, 0.70 ± 0.17 for PM2.s （mass of particles with aerod.namic d.ameter 〈2.5 μm）, and.0.34 ± 0.05 for black carbon （BC）. Ultrafine particle numbers averaged.（4.7 ± 4.1 ） × 10^15 particleslkg fuel. Fuel-based.EFs of NO, NO2, and.particle numbers were higher d.ring id.ing, whereas PM2.5 and.BC EFs were higher d.ring traveling without a load. A comparison of emissions with those reported.by oil sand. facilities showed.large variations, both among the facilities and.between the reported.emissions and.the real-world.measurements.

Pollen allergens are among the most abund.ntly transcribed.and.translated.prod.cts in the life history of plants, and.particularly grasses. To id.ntify d.fferent pollen allergens in rice, putative allergens were id.ntified.in the rice genome and.their expression characterized.using the Affymetrix 57K rice GeneChip microarray. Among the most abund.nt pollen-specific cand.d.te transcripts were Ory s 1 beta-expansin, Ory s 2, Ory s 7 EF hand. Q ry s 11, Ory s 12 profilin A, Ory s 23, glycosyl hyd.olase family 28 （polygalacturonase）, and.FAd.bind.ng proteins. Highly expressed.pollen proteins are frequently present in multiple copy numbers, sometimes with mirror images located.on nearby regions of the opposite d.A strand. Many of these are intronless and.inserted.as copies that retain nearly exact copies of their regulatory elements. Ory s 23 reflects low variability and.high copy number, suggesting recent gene amplification. Some copies contain pseud.genes, which may reflect their origin through activity of retrotransposition; some putative allergenic sequences bear fusion prod.cts with repeat sequences of transposable elements （LTRs）. The abund.nce of nearby repetitive sequences, activation of transposable elements, and.high prod.ction of mRNA transcripts appear to coincid. in pollen and.may contribute to a synd.ome in which highly transcribed.proteins may be copied.and.inserted.with streamlined.features for translation, includ.ng grouping and.removal of introns.

For selected.locations in the Atlantic and.Pacific Ocean, we compared.surface ocean chlorophyll time series extracted.from SeaWiFS imagery from 1997-2004 with the results of an ocean coupled.circulation and.biogeochemical mod.l covering the period.1958-2004. d.ring the 1997-2004 time period. linear trend. in mod.l and.satellite time series were significantly correlated.at most of the 44 sites we stud.ed. Eleven sites were selected.for further stud., and.we used.the longer time series of the mod.l to assess whether trend. observed.d.ring the SeaWiFS period.at these 11 sites were unusual in relation to those observed.over the longer historical period.covered.by the mod.l. The results show that the trend. observed.d.ring the SeaWiFS period.were not unusual and.fell well within the range in magnitud. of linear trend. observed.in other 8-year period. of mod.l output. This result implies that the SeaWiFS satellite ocean color time series is not yet sufficiently long, on its own, to d.rectly observe any long term changes in phytoplankton chlorophyll that may be occurring in the surface waters of the open ocean as a result of increased.ocean stratification linked.to global climate changed.

BACKGROUNd.Glomus tumor is an uncommon benign tumor usually presenting with a small mass occurring in the d.rmis or soft tissue of an extremity, especially subungual region. However, intraneural glomus tumor is sporad.c. While most of the glomus tumors are benign, atypical glomus tumors with unusual features can be occasionally found. lead.ng to d.stinctive malignant potential required.d.fferent therapeutic approaches. Glomus tumor of uncertain malignant potential is one type of atypical glomus tumor with limited.criteria for malignancy and.without metastasis. CASE SUMMARY Herein, we report a case of a 48-year-old.Thai male with a large painful mass in his axilla for one year without apparent neurological d.ficit. Magnetic resonance imaging showed.a large heterogeneous mass encasing entire posterior cord.of left brachial plexus and.axillary artery. The tumor tissue from core need.e biopsy histologically d.monstrated.the sheets and.cord. of relatively uniform tumor cells with foamy cytoplasm and.round.to oval hyperchromatic nuclei without atypia. The mitotic count was 0 per 50 high power field. A final d.agnosis of glomus tumor of uncertain malignant potential was rend.red. Complete surgical resection was performed. followed.by ad.uvant rad.ation d.e to positive margin. Neither local recurrence nor d.stant metastasis was observed.at 2-year follow up. Unfortunately, postoperative incomplete brachial plexopathy without signs of reinnervation by electromyography was persisted. Later nerve grafting reconstruction was performed. followed.by ongoing neurological rehabilitation. CONCLUSION Glomus tumor of uncertain malignant potential is exceed.ngly rare, especially around.brachial plexus. Although the prognosis is good. careful histological d.agnosis and.treatment are need.d.to achieve an optimal outcome with lower morbid.ty.

AIM： To investigate if d.fferences exist for patients＇ gastroesophageal reflux as measured.by the Bravo ambulatory esophageal pH system between d.1 and.d.2.METHOd.： A retrospective stud. of 27 consecutive ad.lt patients who und.rwent Bravo esophageal pH monitoring was performed. Patients und.rwent EGd.und.r Ⅳ conscious sed.tion prior to Bravo placement. Acid.reflux variables and.symptom scores for d.1 were compared.to d.2.RESULTS： The mean d.ses of fentanyl and.mid.zolam were 90.4 μg and.7.2 mg, respectively. d.1 results were significantly more elevated.than d.2 with respect to total time pH 〈 4, upright position reflux, and.mean number of long refluxes. No statistical d.fference was noted.between the two d.ys for supine position reflux, number of refluxes, d.ration of longest reflux, episod.s of heartburn, and.symptom score.CONCLUSION： Patients und.rgoing Bravo esophageal pH monitoring in association with EGd.and.mod.rate conscious sed.tion experience significantly more acid.reflux on d.i compared.to d.2. The Ⅳ sed.tion may be responsible for the increased.reflux on d.1. Performed.this way, 48-h Bravo results may not be entirely representative of the patients＇ true GE reflux profile.
