With the development of imaging and localization studies,focused parathyroidectomy with use of intraope-rative parathormone monitoring(iPM)is the mainstay of treatment for primary hyperparathyroidism at many health care centers both nationally and *** parathyroidectomy guided by iPM allows for surgical excision of the offending parathyroid gland through smaller *** Miami criterion is a protocol that uses a">50%parathormone(PTH)drop"from either the greatest pre-incision or pre-excision measurement of PTH in a blood sample taken 10 min following resection of hyperfunctioning *** removal of the hyperfunctioning parathyroid gland,a>50%PTH drop at 10 min indicates completion of parathyroidectomy,and predicts operative success at6 *** using the Miami criterion has demonstrated equal curative rates of>97%,which is comparable to the traditional bilateral neck *** focused approach,however,is associated with shorter recovery times,improved cosmesis,and lower risk of postoperative hypocalcemia.

This paper presents an analytical approach for estimating frictional resistance to pipe movement at soil and external pipe surface of buried coated pressurized steel pipes relative to the internal thrust *** proposed analytical method was developed based on 36 experiments,which involved three coating types(cement mortar(CM),polyurethane type-i(PT-i),prefabricated plastic tape(PPT))on pipes’surfaces,three different soils(pea-gravel(PG),sand(S),silty-clay(SC)),and four simulated over burden depths above the pipe’s *** showed frictional resistance decreased with increasing over burden depth above the pipe’s *** degree of frictional resistance at the pipe-soil interface was found to be in the order of PG>SC>S for all coating variations and overburden *** coated pipe buried in all three types of soil produced significantly higher frictional resistance as compared to other coating *** on experimental data,the developed analytical introduced a dimensionless factor“Z”,which included effects of types of coatings,soil,and overburden depths for simplified rapid *** showed that the method provided a better prediction of frictional resistance forces,in comparison to previous analytical methods,which were barely close in predicting friction resistance for different coating variations,soil types,and overburden *** resistance force values reported herein could be considered conservative.

This essay is a re-application of the language codes of Roland Barthes and Jonathan Culler’s concept for Structuralist *** approach i use explores the codes demonstrated in Barthes’well-known text,S/Z with slight modifications for their application to *** concepts borrowed from *** are from his book of the same title:Structuralist Poetics:Structuralism,Linguistics and the Study of Literature(Cornell University Press,1975).Culler’s main argument is that there must be other,un-attempted strategies combined with conventional approaches in literature of that time *** answer to this problem was to develop a set of linguistic-based concepts to compensate for the reader in the analysis of literary works.i have applied in this essay my approach based on Culler’s methodology and the language codes of Roland Barthes:semantic,symbolic,cultural-referential,actional and hermeneutic.i apply Culler’s concepts to a reading of poetry followed by an application of the language codes as a further development of my work in revitalizing this never-before applied method.

Low-cost GNSS receivers have recently been gaining reliability as good candidates for ionospheric studies. in line with these gains are genuine concerns about improving the performance of these receivers. in this work, we present a comprehensive investigation of the performances of two antennas(the u-blox ANN-MB and the TOPGNSS TOP-106) used on a low-cost GNSS receiver known as the u-blox ZED-F9P. The two antennas were installed on two identical and co-located u-blox receivers. Data used from both receivers cover the period from January to June 2022. Results from the study indicate that the signal strengths are dominantly greater for the receiver with the TOPGNSS antenna than for the receiver with the ANN-MB antenna, implying that the TOPGNSS antenna is better than the ANN-MB antenna in terms of providing greater signal strengths. Summarily, the TOPGNSS antenna also performed better in minimizing the occurrence of cycle slips on phase TEC measurements. There are no conspicuous differences between the variances(computed as 5-min standard deviations) of phase TEC measurements for the two antennas, except for a period around May-June when the TOPGNSS gave a better performance in terms of minimizing the variances in phase TEC. Remarkably, the ANN-MB antenna gave a better performance than the TOPGNSS antenna in terms of minimizing the variances in pseudorange TEC for some satellite observations. For precise horizontal(North and East) positioning, the receiver with the TOPGNSS antenna gave better results, while the receiver with the ANN-MB antenna gave better vertical(Up) positioning. The errors for the receivers of both antennas are typically within about 5 m(the monthly mean was usually smaller than 1 m) in the horizontal direction and within about 10 m(the monthly mean was usually smaller than 4 m) in the vertical direction.
