Detecting and tracking moving targets through foliage is difficult,and for many cases even impossible in regular aerial images and *** present an initial light-weight and drone-operated 1D camera array that supports parallel synthetic aperture aerial *** main finding is that color anomaly detection benefits significantly from image integration when compared to conventional raw images or video frames(on average 97%vs.42%in precision in our field experiments).We demonstrate that these two contributions can lead to the detection and tracking of moving people through densely occluding forest.

The complex wake flow of a GTS(ground transportation system)model contributes to large percentage of the aerodynamic drag ***,predicting accurate wake flow will help carry out the drag reduction *** this paper,the near-wake flow topology of the GTS was studied at Re=2.7×104 to assess the capability of a hybrid RANS/LES(Reynolds-averaged Navier–Stokes/large eddy simulation)approach,known as IDDES(improved delayed detached eddy simulation).The current study also aims to understand the effects of different computational parameters,*** spatial resolution,time step,residual level,discretization scheme and turbulence model,on this asymmetrical wake flow configuration.A comparison of IDDES with previous water channel tests,wellresolved LES,partially averaged Navier–Stokes and URANS(unsteady RANS)was included to better understand the benefits of this hybrid RANS/LES *** results show that on the medium and fine grids,the IDDES produces an asymmetrical flow topology(known as flow state I)in the near-wake of the vertical midplane,as reported in previous *** recommended parameters for the time step(1×10^(–4 )s)and residual level(1×10^(–4))provide sufficient accuracy of wake predictions to show good agreement with *** the convective term of the momentum equation in IDDES,the bounded central difference discretization scheme is proposed to be adopted for ***,URANS cannot accurately capture this asymmetrical flow *** proves to be capable of predicting thewake flowfield of this simplified heavy vehicle with high *** obtained conclusions can provide references for the aerodynamic drag reduction of the GTS.

A continuum based model is presented which identifies a favorable set of operational conditions whereby an effective and efficient electromagnetically induced vibratory motion can proceed within an induction ***, an analytical assessment is presented for the electromagnetic field and the electromagnetically induced acoustic field, with parametric factors incorporated into the model to permit a normal modes solution for the acoustic field which here is sensitive to the compliance of both the molten metal and the wall,as well as electromagnetic properties of the metal.A parametric analysis is presented which identifies the importance of matching the mechanical impedances of the melt-wall configuration so that the generation of acoustic energy within the melt system can be more effectively *** straight-forward calculations,presented for the acoustic field,may provide a more computationally efficient means for implementing process simulation studies for these systems.

The motion of an inductively heated fluid volume of cylindrical shape is assessed based on time dependent oscillatory components of the Lorentz *** applications considered include vibratory motion in a channel induction furnace and vibratory motion in an electromagnetically excited direct chill *** governing equations for the resulting magnetoacoustic problem are presented with the acoustic field solutions expressed in terms of normal modes. closed form expressions are developed for the velocity,pressure and phase relationships between the excitation and the *** are prescribed for the pressure in both the channel furnace and the direct chill casting,with the calculational results from the casting application suggesting that,roughly,a two-fold increase in the effective peak acoustic pressure can be achieved by superimposing on the Ac electromagnetic field a Dc magnetic field of strength sufficient to match the peak alternating magnetic field.A procedure is also outlined for developing field descriptions of the velocity and pressure which can be effected in a MATLAB environ.

Size distributions of ambient aerosols at the Fresno Supersite were measured with four commercially available scanning mobility particle sizers （SMPS）. TSI nano, TSI standard, Grimm, and MSP instruments were collocated at the Fresno Supersite and particle size distributions were measured continuously from August 18 through September 18, 2005. For particles with diameters between 10 and 200 nm, differences among hourly-average ambient particle concentrations ranged from 0% between the TSI nano and Grimm in the 30-50 nm size range to 39% between the Grimm and MSP in the 10-30 nm size range. MSP concentrations were 10-33% lower than those measured with the TSI standard for particles smaller than 200 nm. The TSI nano and TSI standard agreed to within 5% in their overlapping size range （10-84 nm）. The TSI nano and Grimm agreed to within 40% for 5-10 nm particles.
