The worldwide burden of skeletal diseases such as osteoporosis,degenerative joint disease and impaired fracture healing is steadily *** acid(TXA),a plasminogen inhibitor and anti-fibrinolytic agent,is used to reduce bleeding with high effectiveness and safety in major surgical *** its widespread clinical application,the effects of TXA beyond anti-fibrinolysis have been noticed and prompted renewed interest in its *** clinical trials have characterized the effects of TXA on reducing postoperative infection rates and regulating immune responses in patients undergoing ***,several animal studies suggest potential therapeutic effects of TXA on skeletal diseases such as osteoporosis and fracture *** a direct effect of TXA on the differentiation and function of bone cells in vitro was shown,few mechanisms of action have been ***,we summarize recent findings of the effects of TXA on skeletal diseases and discuss the underlying plasminogen-dependent and-independent mechanisms related to bone metabolism and the immune *** furthermore discuss potential novel indications for TXA application as a treatment strategy for skeletal diseases.

The influence of different pre-oxidation temperatures and pre-oxidation degrees on the reduction and fluidization behaviors of magnetite-based iron ore was investigated in a hydrogen-induced fluidized *** raw magnetite-based iron ore was pre-oxidized at 800 and1000℃ for a certain time to reach a partly oxidation and deeply oxidation *** structure and morphology of the reduced particles were analyzed via optical microscope and scanning electron microscopy(SEM).The reaction kinetic mechanism was determined based on the double-logarithm *** results indicate that the materials with higher oxidation temperature and wider particle size range show better fluidization *** lower oxidation temperature is more beneficial for the reduction rate,especially in the later reduction *** pre-oxidation degree shows no obvious influence on the fluidization and reduction *** on the kinetic analysis,the reduction progress can be divided into three *** reduction mechanism was discussed combing the surface morphology and phase structure.

Surface light scattering enables contactless and fast measurements of surface roughness.A surface inclination alters the direction of the scattering beam and thus the measured surface roughness is calculated from the detected intensity ***,an accurate sensor-surface alignment is *** order to achieve tilt-independent roughness measurements,a model-based evaluation approach for polychromatic speckle patterns is *** evaluating the shape of the superposed speckles,which occur for polychromatic illumination,with regard to the distance to the scattering centre,surfaces with an Sa roughness value in the range of 0.8-3.2μm are *** investigations demonstrate that the influence of a surface tilt up to±1.25°on the roughness measurement is reduced by 90%.As a result,the robustness of the polychromatic speckle roughness measurement is improved,which allows to speed up the adjustment of the measurement system or the surface sample,respectively.

The diagnosis of herbal hepatotoxicity or herb induced liver injury(HILI) represents a particular clinical and regulatory challenge with major pitfalls for the causality *** the day HILI is suspected in a patient,physicians should start assessing the quality of the used herbal product,optimizing the clinical data for completeness,and applying the Council for International Organizations of Medical Sciences(CIOMS) scale for initial causality *** scale is structured,quantitative,liver specific,and validated for hepatotoxicity *** items provide individual scores,which together yield causality levels of highly probable,probable,possible,unlikely,and *** completion by additional information including raw data,this scale with all items should be reported to regulatory agencies and manufacturers for further *** CIOMS scale is preferred as tool for assessing causality in hepatotoxicity cases,compared to numerous other causality assessment methods,which are inferior on various *** these disputed methods are the Maria and Victorino scale,an insufficiently qualified,shortened version of the CIOMS scale,as well as various liver unspecific methods such as thead hoc causality approach,the Naranjo scale,the World Health Organization(WHO) method,and the Karch and Lasagna *** expert panel is required for the Drug Induced Liver Injury Network method,the WHO method,and other approaches based on expert opinion,which provide retrospective analyses with a long delay and thereby prevent a timely assessment of the illness in question by the *** conclusion,HILI causality assessment is challenging and is best achieved by the liver specific CIOMS scale,avoiding pitfalls commonly observed with other approaches.

The interplay of magnetism and topology opens up the possibility for exotic linear response effects,such as the anomalous Hall effect and the anomalous Nernst effect,which can be strongly enhanced by designing a large Berry curvature in the electronic *** Heusler compounds are a promising class of materials for this purpose because they are versatile,show magnetism,and their electronic structure hosts strong topological ***,we provide a comprehensive study of the intrinsic anomalous transport for magnetic cubic full Heusler compounds and we illustrate that several Heusler compounds outperform the best so far reported *** results reveal the importance of symmetries,especially mirror planes,in combination with magnetism for giant anomalous Hall and Nernst effects,which should be valid in general for linear responses(spin Hall effect,spin orbital torque,etc.)dominated by intrinsic contributions.

Rice straw is supposed to be an environment-friendly biomaterial for inhibiting the growth of harmful blooms of the cyanobacterium Microcystis aeruginosa. However, its potential mechanism is not well known. To explore this mechanism, the growth, cell viability(esterase activity, membrane potential, and membrane integrity), photosynthesis, and cell size of M. aeruginosa were determined using fl ow cytometry and Phyto-PAM after exposure to rice straw extracts(RSE). The results show that doses from 2.0 to 10.0 g/L of RSE effi ciently inhibited the alga for 15 days, while the physiologic and morphologic responses of the cyanobacteria were time-dependent. RSE interfered with the cell membrane potential, cell size, and in vivo chlorophyll- a fl uorescence on the fi rst day. After 7 days of exposure, RSE was transported into the cytosol, which disrupted enzyme activity and photosynthesis. The cyanobacteria then started to repair its physiology(enzyme activity, photosynthesis) and remained viable, suggesting that rice straw act as an algistatic agent.
