The synaptonemal complex （Sc） is an evolutionarily well-conserved structure that mediates chromosome synapsis during prophase of the first meiotic division. Although its structure is conserved, the characterized protein components in the current metazoan meiosis model systems （Drosophila melanogaster, caenorhabditis elegans, and Mus musculus） show no sequence homology, challenging the question of a single evolutionary origin of the Sc. However, our recent studies revealed the monophyletic origin of the mammalian Sc protein components. Many of them being ancient in Metazoa and already present in the cnidarian Hydra. Remarkably, a comparison between different model systems disclosed a great similarity between the Sc components of Hydra and mammals while the proteins of the ecdysozoan systems （D. rnelanogaster and c. elegans） differ significantly. In this review, we introduce the basal-branching metazoan species Hydra as a potential novel invertebrate model system for meiosis research and particularly for the investigation of Sc evolution, function and assembly. Also, available methods for Sc research in Hydra are summarized.

Guided by the theoretical prediction,a new MAX phase V2Snc was synthesized experimentally for the first time by reaction of V,Sn,and c mixtures at 1000°*** chemical composition and crystal structure of this new compound were identified by the cross-check combination of first-principles calculations,X-ray diffraction(XRD),energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(EDS),and high resolution scanning transmission electron microscopy(HR-STEM).The stacking sequence of V2c and Sn layers results in a crystal structure of space group P63/*** a-and c-lattice parameters,which were determined by the Rietveld analysis of powder XRD pattern,are 0.2981(0)nm and 1.3470(6)nm,*** atomic positions are V at 4f(1/3,2/3,0.0776(5)),Sn at 2d(2/3,1/3,1/4),and c at 2a(0,0,0).A new set of XRD data of V2Snc was also *** calculations suggest that this new compound is stable with negative formation energy and formation enthalpy,satisfied Born-Huang criteria of mechanical stability,and positive phonon branches over the Brillouin *** also has low shear deformation resistance c44(second-order elastic constant,cij)and shear modulus(G),positive cauchy pressure,and low Pugh’s ratio(G/B=0.500ch is regarded as a quasi-ductile MAX *** mechanism underpinning the quasi-ductility is associated with the presence of a metallic bond.

In this study,we aim to elucidate the clinical impact and long-term course of tricuspid regurgitation(TR),taking into account its dynamic nature,after biatrial orthotopic heart transplant(OHT).All consecutive adult patients undergoing biatrial OHT(1984−2017)with an available follow-up echocardiogram were ***-models were used to model the evolution of *** mixed-model was inserted into a cox model in order to address the association of the dynamic TR with *** total,572 patients were included(median age:50 years,males:74.9%).Approximately 32% of patients had moderate-to-severe TR immediately after ***,this declined to 11%on 5 years and 9% on 10 years after surgery,adjusted for survival *** mechanical support was associated with less TR during follow-up,whereas concurrent LV dysfunction was significantly associated with more TR during *** at 1,5,10,20 years was 97%±1%,88%±1%,66%±2% and 23%±2%,*** presence of moderate-to-severe TR during follow-up was associated with higher mortality(HR:1.07,95%cI(1.02–1.12),p=0.006).The course of TR was positively correlated with the course of creatinine(R=0.45).TR during follow-up is significantly associated with higher mortality and worse renal ***,probability of TR is the highest immediately after OHT and decreases ***,it may be reasonable to refrain from surgical intervention for TR during earlier phase after OHT.

Background:Few studies have evaluated the effect of drought on the morphophysiological characteristics of African c_(4) *** investigated how drought affects leaf gas exchange characteristics,biomass partitioning,and water use efficiencies of Enteropogon macrostachyus and cenchrus ***:The grasses were grown in a controlled environment under optimum conditions,that is,70%of the maximum water‐holding capacity(WHc)for the first 40 ***,half of the columns were maintained under optimum or drought conditions(30%of maximum WHc)for another 20 ***:Under optimum conditions,*** showed a significantly higher photosynthetic rate,stomatal conductance,and transpiration rate than *** decreased the photosynthetic rate,stomatal conductance and transpiration rate only in *** net photosynthetic rate,stomatal conductance,and leaf transpiration of *** did not differ significantly under optimum and drought *** showed an increase in its water use efficiencies under drought to a greater extent than ***:Our results demonstrate that *** is more sensitive to drought than *** decrease in the intercellular cO_(2) concentration and the increase in stomatal limitation with drought in *** and *** suggest that stomatal limitation plays the dominant role in photosynthesis of the studied African c_(4) grasses.

Background Bronchiolitis is the most common infection leading to hospitalization in infancy. Interleukin-10 (IL-10) is an anti-inflammatory cytokine, and in our previous study, IL10 gene rs1800896 (-1082A/G) polymorphism was associated with viral etiology of infant bronchiolitis. The objective of this study was to evaluate the associations between IL10 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) at rs1800890 (-3575A/T), rs1800871 (-819c/T) or rs1800872 (-592c/A) either alone or combined with the SNP at rs1800896 (-1082G/A), and the etiology and severity of infant bronchiolitis. Methods Data on four IL10 SNPs were available from 135 full-term infants, hospitalized for bronchiolitis at age less than 6 months, and from 378 to 400 controls. Viral etiology was studied, and oxygen support, feeding support and the length of stay in hospital were recorded during bronchiolitis hospitalization. Results Infants with rhinovirus bronchiolitis had the IL10 rs1800890 variant AT or TT genotype less often (18.2%) than controls (63.3%, P=0.03), and likewise, had the IL10 rs1800896 variant AG or GG genotype less often (27.3%) than con-trols (65.5%, P=0.009). Twenty-eight infants with bronchiolitis had the variant–variant Grs1800896Trs1800890 haplotype, and none of them had rhinovirus infection. The IL10 rs1800871 or rs1800872 genotypes showed no associations with viruses. No association was found between any genotypes and bronchiolitis severity measures. conclusion IL10 rs1800890 and rs1800896 polymorphisms differed between infants with rhinovirus bronchiolitis and con-trols, but not between infants with respiratory syncytial virus bronchiolitis and controls.

Aluminum(Al)-ion batteries have emerged as a potential alternative to conventional ion batteries that rely on less abundant and costly materials like ***,given the nascent stage of advancement in Al-ion batteries(AIBs),attaining electrode materials that can leverage both intercalation capacity and structural stability remains ***,we demonstrate a c3N4-derived layered N,S heteroatom-doped carbon,obtained at different pyrolysis temperatures,as a cathode material for AIBs,encompassing the diffusion-controlled intercalation and surface-induced capacity with ultrahigh *** developed layered N,S-doped corbon(N,S-c)cathode,synthesized at 900℃,delivers a specific capacity of 330 mAhg^(-1)with a relatively high coulombic efficiency of~85%after 500 cycles under a current density of 0.5 A g^(-1).Owing to its reinforced adsorption capability and enlarged interlayer spacing by doping N and S heteroatoms,the N,S-c900 cathode demonstrates outstanding energy storage capacity with excellent rate performance(61 mAhg^(-1)at 20 A g^(-1))and ultrahigh reversibility(90 mAhg^(-1)at 5Ag^(-1)after 10000cycles).

AIM： To investigate the mechanisms underlying the reduction in gastric blood flow induced by a luminal water extract of Hellcobacter pylori （HPE）. METHODS： The stomachs of isoflurane-anesthetized mice were exteriorized, and the mucosal surface exposed. Blood flow was measured with the laserDoppler technique, and systemic arterial blood pressure monitored. c57BL/6 mice were exposed to water extract produced from Hpylori strain 88-23. To investigate the role of a nerveor iNOS-mediated pathway, we used intraluminal lidocaine and iNOS-/- mice. Blood flow response to the endogenous nitric oxide synthase inhibitor asymmetric dimethyl arginine （ADMA） was also assessed. RESULTS： In wild-type mice, HPE decreased mucosal blood flow by approximately 30%. This reduction was abolished in iNOS-deficient mice, and by pre-treatment with lidocaine. Luminally applied ADMA resulted in reduction in blood flow similar to that observed in wildtype mice exposed to HPE. cONcLUSION： A H py/ori water extract reduces gastric mucosal blood flow acutely through iNOS- and nerve-mediated pathways.
