Optimal and interactive keyframe selection for motion capture

Motion capture is increasingly used in games and movies, but often requires editing before it can be used, for many reasons. The motion may need to be adjusted to correctly interact with virtual objects or to fix problems that result from mapping the motion to a character of a different size or, beyond such technical requirements, directors can request stylistic ***, editing is laborious because of the lowlevel representation of the data. While existing motion editing methods accomplish modest changes, larger edits can require the artist to "re-animate" the motion by manually selecting a subset of the frames as *** this paper, we automatically find sets of frames to serve as keyframes for editing the motion. We formulate the problem of selecting an optimal set of keyframes as a shortest-path problem, and solve it efficiently using dynamic programming. We create a new simplified animation by interpolating the found keyframes using a naive curve fitting technique. Our algorithm can simplify motion capture to around 10% of the original number of frames while retaining most of its detail. By simplifying animation with our algorithm, we realize a new approach to motion editing and stylization founded on the timetested keyframe interface. We present results that show our algorithm outperforms both research algorithms and a leading commercial tool.

Bisphenol A (BpA) is used in huge amounts for many plastic products and is a hormone (estrogen) disrupting agent. BpA as well as FFAs may be deleterious for the immune system. The aim was to identify Th2 cytokines and some of their signal transduction mechanisms in INS-1 cells, an insulin secreting cell line. Screening using a proteome profile indicated an increase of IL-1, IL-2, IL-4, IL-6, IL-10, IL-13 and IL-17 by BpA. Also FFAs (in combination with LpS) were positive. In detailed quantitative measurements, these results were confirmedly indicating a complex array of pro-and anti-inflammatory potential. The interaction of BpA with 17β-estradiol was non-additive with respect to IL-4 and IL-6 release and additive with respect to FFA interaction indicating same and different mechanisms of action, respecttively. As signal transduction pI3K (Wortmannin-sensitive) and STAT-3/6 (Tofacitinib-sensitive) are involved in various effects, INS-1 cells release several cytokines due to BpA and FFA attack which may be involved in disturbance of glucose homoeostasis and type 1 diabetes.

In boreal forests,autumn frost tolerance in seedlings is a critical fitness component because it determines survival rates during *** understand the forces that drive local adaptation in this trait,we conducted freezing tests in a common garden setting for 54 pinus sylvestris(Scots pine)populations(>5000 seedlings)collected across Scandinavia into western Russia,and genotyped 24 of these populations(>900 seedlings)at>10000 *** in cold hardiness among populations,as measured by QST,was above 80%and followed a distinct cline along latitude and longitude,demonstrating significant adaptation to climate at *** contrast,the genetic differentiation was very weak(mean FST 0.37%).Despite even allele frequency distribution in the vast majority of SNps among all populations,a few rare alleles appeared at very high or at fixation in marginal populations restricted to northwestern ***–environment associations showed that climate variables explained 2.9%of the genetic differentiation,while genotype–phenotype associations revealed a high marker-estimated heritability of frost hardiness of 0.56,but identified no major *** extensive gene flow,strong local adaptation,and signals of complex demographic history across markers are interesting topics of forthcoming studies on this species to better clarify signatures of selection and demography.

The increasing demand for personalized medicine necessitates the production of easily customizable dosage forms. As the number of possible dosage forms may scale toward infinity, their uniqueness requires a versatile production platform and numerical simulation in order to be manufactured efficiently. A mathematical description of these systems is the only feasible approach to manage such diverse properties of different products. However,experimental verification is still essential for evaluation of processability and related concomitant phenomena, such as possible solid state changes that may occur during production and storage.

AIM: To explore gastroenterologist perceptions towards and experience with faecal microbiota transplantation(FMT).METHODS: A questionnaire survey consisting of 17 questions was created to assess gastroenterologists' attitude towards and experience with FMT. This was anonymously distributed in hard copy format amongst attendees at gastroenterology meetings in Australia between October 2013 and April 2014. Basic descriptive statistical analyses were ***: Fifty-two clinicians participated. Twenty one percent had previously referred patients for FMT,8% more than once. Ninety percent would refer patients with Clostridium difficile infection(CDI) for FMT if easily available,37% for ulcerative colitis,13% for Crohn's disease and 6% for irritable bowel syndrome. Six percent would not refer any indication,including recurrent CDI. Eighty-six percent would enroll patients in FMT clinical trials. Thirty-seven percent considered the optimal mode of FMT administration transcolonoscopic,17% nasoduodenal,13% enema and 8% oral capsule. The greatest concerns regarding FMT were: 42% lack of evidence,12% infection risk,10% non infectious adverse effects/lack of safety data,10% aesthetic,10% lack of efficacy,4% disease exacerbation,and 2% inappropriate use; 6% had no concerns. Seventy seven percent believed there is a lack of accessibility while 52% had an interest in learning how to provide FMT. Only 6% offered FMT at their ***: Despite general enthusiasm,most gastroenterologists have limited experience with,or access to,FMT. The greatest concerns were lack of supportive evidence and safety issues. However a significant proportion would refer indications other than CDI for FMT despite insufficient evidence. These data provide guidance on where education and training are required.

Opportunistic bacteria in apical periodontitis (Ap) may pose a risk for systemic ***-associated invariant T (MAIT) cells are innate-like T cells with a broad and potent antimicrobial activity important for gut mucosal *** was recently shown that MAIT cells are present in the oral mucosal tissue,but the involvement of MAIT cells in Ap is ***,comparison of surgically resected Ap and gingival tissues demonstrated that Ap tissues express significantly higher levels of Vα7.2-jα33,Vα7.2- jα20,Vα7.2-jα12,Cα and tumour necrosis factor (TNF),interferon (IFN)-γ and interleukin (IL)-17A transcripts,resembling a MAIT cell ***,in Ap tissues the MR1-restricted MAIT cells positive for MR1–5-Op-RU tetramer staining appeared to be of similar levels as in peripheral blood but consisted mainly of CD4^+ *** gingival tissues,the Ap microbiome was quantitatively impacted by factors like fistula and high patient age and had a prominent riboflavin-expressing bacterial *** merged in an integrated view,the examined immune and microbiome data in the sparse partial least squares discriminant analysis could identify bacterial relative abundances that negatively correlated with Vα7.2-jα33,Cα,and IL-17A transcript expressions in Ap,implying that MAIT cells could play a role in the local defence at the oral tissue *** conclusion,we describe the presence of MAIT cells at the oral site where translocation of oral microbiota could take *** findings have implications for understanding the immune sensing of polymicrobial-related oral diseases.
