This paper presents a model to simulate the evolution of cOVID-19 in the cameroonian context. The presented model SISDH stands for Susceptible, Infected, Severe, Died, and Healed is made up of the mixture of a Multi-Agent System (SMA) and a SIR (Susceptible, Infected, Recovered)-based model, and mainly addresses the problem of modelling the evolution of pandemics with a high transmission rate. Multi-agent systems are used to design the SIR model’s entities, namely the habitants of the region subject to the study. The experimentation carried out showed that the combination of the two concepts favours rapid decision-making. For example, the requirement to wear a mask or strict adherence to social distancing reduces the risk of spread. The application of these tough measures had theoretically leveled down the spreading of the epidemic. Besides the lowering of the number of cases when strict measures were applied, we also highlighted a significant reduction of deaths and severe illness which is a concomitant result of the lockdown. On the other hand, our experiments revealed a peak of infections a few steps after the beginning when no restrictions are made for barrier measures. The peak is followed by a sudden decrease in infection which might convey immunity of the population.

The extraction and separation of zinc, manganese, cobalt and nickel from nickel laterite bacteria leach liquor were carried out using sodium salts of TOPS-99 and cyanex 272 in kerosene. The unwanted metal ions were removed by precipitation method and solvent extraction was used to extract/separate Zn, Mn, co and Ni. The nickel laterite leach liquor which was obtained from bioleaching of chromite overburden samples contained 3.72 g/L Fe, 2.08 g/L Al, 0.44 g/L Ni, 0.02 g/L co, 0.13 g/L Mn, 0.14 g/L Zn and 0.22 g/L cr. From this leach liquor, 100% Fe, 96.98% Al and 70.42% cr were removed by precipitation with ca cO_3 at pH 4.4 followed by precipitation of remaining Al and cr with 50% ammonia at p H 5.4. After precipitation, the extraction of Zn from the Fe, Al and cr free leach liquor was carried out with 0.1 mol/L TOPS-99 followed by Mn extraction with 0.04 mol/L Na TOPS-99. The yields of Zn and Mn were 97.77% and 95.63%, respectively. After Mn extraction, cobalt was removed from the leach liquor using 0.0125 mol/L Na cyanex 272 and finally nickel extraction was carried out using 0.12 mol/L Na TOPS-99 with 99.84% yield. The stripping of loaded organic（lo） phases were achieved with dilute H_2SO_4.

Prevacuolar compartments （PVcs） and endosomal compartments are membrane-bound organelles mediating protein traffic to vacuoles in the secretory and endocytic pathways of plant cells. Over the years, great progress has been made towards our understanding in these two compartments in plant cells. In this review, we will summarize our contributions toward the identification and characterization of plant prevacuolar and endosomal compartments. Our studies will serve as important steps in future molecular characterization of PVc biogenesis and PVc-mediated protein traffickinq in plant cells.

Differential Insertion Depths of Filiform Needle, concept and Application

In this paper, the background, evolution, basic meaning, clinical application and the detail operating procedures of the differential insertion depth in filiform needle acupuncture were discussed based on the classical expositions of the Yellow Emperor’s canon of Medicine. It is believed that the differential insertion depth reflects the basic idea of expelling the evil Qi from the body in the application of traditional acupuncture. Since the site of evil invasion has different shades, the position of evil Qi and correct differentiation has become the operation key points of needle insertion. Apart from this, the Yellow Emperor’s canon of Medicine has further associated the clinical application of filiform needle insertion depth with the seasonal change of Yin and Yang, the body built of the patients, the nature of the diseases, the heat or cold pathogenic factors of the illness, the excess and deficiency of the patient, and the reinforcing and reducing function of acupuncture. These elaborations have greatly enriched the basic content of acupuncture and laid a systematic theoretical foundation of filiform needle operation. The differential insertion depth in acupuncture has its specific meaning, the emphasis of insertion depth of filiform needle with its differentiated clinical implication exemplifies the perceptual thinking features of traditional acupuncture and typical reveals the uniqueness of chinese civilization.

OBJEcTIVE To study the clinical and epidemiological characteristics of the first 100 reported AIDS cases in Hong *** AND METHODS The case records of the first 100 AIDS cases reported to the Department of Health were retrieved. An analysis was made on their demographic data, clinical and immunologic profile, treatment received as well as *** The AIDS patients were reported over a ten-year period, from February 1985 to March 1994. The majority of them were male, chinese and between the age of 20 and 49. More than 80% acquired HIV via sexual contact. The most common primary AIDS- defining illness wasPneumocystis carinii pneumonia (PcP), which occurred in 46 patients. Eight episodes ofPenicillium marneffei infection have been recorded. Fifty-nine patients have received antiretroviral therapy whereas PcP prophylaxis was given to 47 patients. The mean cD4 count at HIV and AIDS diagnosis was 394/μl and 121/μl respectively. Sixty-seven patients were known to have died at the time of the analysis. PcP was the most common cause of death, accounting for over one-fifth of the cases. The median survival after AIDS diagnosis was less than 2 months for cases reported in 1985-1987 and over 15 months for those of *** Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia was the most common initial AIDS-defining disease and cause of death in Hong kong. Survival of the patients has gradually improved over the past few years.
