Herein,we rationally constructed a hybrid heterostructure comprising porous g-C_(3)N_(4)(CN)-encapsulated anatase TiO_(2) hollow spheres(TOHS)via a synthesis method that involves hydrothermal and calcination *** fabricated hybrid,termed CN/TOHS,demonstrated extraordinary activity toward the degradation of environmentally toxic pharmaceutical substances(acetaminophen and ciprofloxacin)in aqueous solutions under simulated sunlight irradiation;the activity of CN/TOHS was superior to that attained for individual TOHS and CN *** particular,the CN/TOHS hybrid containing 13.3 wt.%of CN on TOHS displayed the optimum degradation activity among the tested catalysts used in this study,and it also possessed exceptional recyclability and stability during consecutive degradation *** remarkable photocatalytic activity and stability of the hybrid were predominantly ascribed to the large solid interfacial contact between constituents,TOHS and CN,induced by effective hybrid structure,which boosted the interfacial charge transfer and impeded with the direct recombination of photo-induced ***,the results of the liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry analysis corroborated the effective mineralization of model pharmaceutical pollutants in the presence of the CN/TOHS *** simple interfacial engineering strategy presented in this study offers a potential route for the rational design of novel catalysts for application in environmental remediation and solar energy conversion.

In research on small mobile robots and biomimetic robots, locomotion ability remains a major issue despite many advances in technology. However, evolution has led to there being many real animals capable of exceUent locomotion. This paper presents a ＂parasitic robot system＂ whereby locomotion abilities of an animal are applied to a robot task. We chose a turtle as our first host animal and designed a parasitic robot that can perform ＂operant conditioning＂. The parasitic robot, which is attached to the turtle, can induce object-tracking behavior of the turtle toward a Light Emitting Diode （LED） and positively reinforce the behavior through repeated stimulus-response interaction. After training sessions over five weeks, the robot could successfully control the direction of movement of the trained turtles in the waypoint navigation task. This hybrid animal-robot interaction system could provide an alternative solution to some of the limitations of conventional mobile robot systems in various fields, and could also act as a useful interaction system for the behavioral sciences.

AIM:To evaluate the clinical efficacy of dietary supplement of high dose DHA omega-3 in dry eye with meibomian gland dysfunction(MGD).METHODS:Prospective randomized double-masked,placebo-controlled clinical trial was conducted in mild to moderate dry eye patients with *** have no history of taking any dietary omega-3 supplements before 3 *** were divided into two groups:24 patients in the omega-3 group and 26 patients in the placebo *** omega-3 group received two capsules of Easyeye Dry?,total containing 600 mg of EPA and 1640 mg of DHA,while the placebo group received two capsules containing 3000 mg of olive *** patients take two pills once a *** examination of MGD scores,tear break-up time(TBUT),corneal staining test(NEI),strip meniscometry(SM tube),and ocular surface disease index(OSDI)scores were performed at baseline,after 4 and 8 ***:A total of 50 patients were *** were no differences in baseline characteristics between the two groups,such as age,sex,and other ocular examination *** TBUT,NEI,and OSDI scores significantly improved after 4 and 8 wk in both *** after 8 wk TBUT(6.00±1.62 s vs 5.08±1.28 s,P=0.034)and MGD score(7.2±1.8 vs 8.1±2.6,P=0.033)in the omega-3 group was more significantly improved than that of the placebo ***:Dry eye with the MGD patient,a high dose of DHA omega-3 dietary supplement can improve TBUT and MGD score after 8 wk,effective in stabilizing the tear film.

The nonlinear dynamics of curved ionic polymer-metal composite(IPMC)actuators having large tip displacement and periodical jumping locomotion was investigated *** snap-through phenomena,the actuator generates much larger tip displacement and shows abrupt jumps in the transitions of upswings and downswings with low input *** curved IPMC cantilever actuators having two different constant curvatures of 0.01 mm^(−1) and 0.02 mm^(−1) were fabricated through thermal treatment from flat IPMCs,simultaneously with no residual ***-fabricated IPMC actuators were tested to evaluate the effect of initial curvature under static and dynamic electrical *** the case of the flat IPMC actuator,asymmetric characteristics in step and harmonic responses were investigated in the curved IPMC ***,at relatively higher input voltage,snap-through phenomena were observed with much larger transverse displacements and periodical abrupt jumps of the instant *** revealed jumping movements between the multiple equilibrium *** results show that optimum curvatures for better bending performance of curved cantilever IPMCs exist and that this snap-through mechanism could be applied to IPMC actuators by considering their soft and flexible properties and the geometric structures.

Background:Since laparoscopic anatomical resection(LAR)for tumors,especially located in the posterosuperior(PS)segments of the liver remains difficult,laparoscopic non-anatomical resection(LNAR)are generally *** compare the clinical outcomes between LAR and LNAR for hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)located in the PS ***:We retrospectively reviewed the data for 1,029 patients who underwent hepatectomy for HCC between 2004 and *** 167 patients who underwent laparoscopic hepatectomy for HCC in PS segments,64 underwent LNAR and 103 underwent *** were matched one-to-one using propensity score matching(46:46).Results:LNAR was associated with significantly shorter operation time(P=0.001),lower estimated blood loss(P=0.001),lower transfusion rate(P=0.006)and shorter hospital stay(P=0.012)than *** respective 1-,3-,and 5-year overall survival rates(LAR:95.3%,87.1%,and 77.8%;LNAR:96.7%,91.6%,and 85.0%;P=0.262)and recurrence-free survival rates(LAR:75.7%,70.3%,and 68.9%;LNAR:81.8%,58.3%,and 55.3%;P=0.879)were *** intrahepatic recurrence rate was significantly higher in LNAR group than in LAR group(78.6%vs.57.1%,P=0.023),but the post-recurrence treatments differed significantly between the two groups(P=0.016);the re-resection rate was much greater in the LNAR group(45.0%vs.0%)*** respective 1-,3-,and 5-year post-recurrence survival rates were similar in the LAR and LNAR groups(P=0.212).After recurrence,survival in re-resection group was significantly greater than not(P=0.026).Conclusions:LNAR is safe and feasible for HCC located in PS segments,and provided acceptable oncologic outcomes that are comparable to those of *** can be considered for patient with tumor located in PS segment when LAR is not feasible.

AIM:To evaluate the clinical efficacy of topical 0.05%cyclosporine nano-emulsion in the treatment of dry eye syndrome(DES)with meibomian gland dysfunction(MGD).METHODS:This prospective study included 64 patients with DES and MGD who were randomly assigned to three groups:Group 1(n=24,conventional cyclosporine),Group 2(n=21,nano-emulsion cyclosporine),and Group 3(n=19,control).Lid margin telangiectasia(LMT),meibomian gland secretion(MGS),conjunctival injection(CI),corneal staining(CS),tear break-up time(TBUT),Schirmer test I(STI),Ocular Surface Disease Index(OSDI),and lipid layer thickness(LLT)was evaluated at 4,8,and 12wk of ***:In Group 3(control),LMT,CS,and CI improved after 8wk,MGS,TBUT after 12wk of *** Group 1(conventional cyclosporine),LMT,MGS,and TBUT improved significantly after 4wk,whereas CS,CI,STI,and LLT improved significantly after 8wk,and OSDI at *** Group 2(nano-cyclosporine),LMT,MGS,CS,CI,TBUT,and OSDI significantly improved after 4wk,and STI after ***,LLT was significantly higher than other groups after ***:Cyclosporine and nano-cyclosporine shows significant improvement in DES with MGD than the control *** contrast,the nano-cyclosporine group shows more statistically improved CI and CS at 4wk,especially LLT at 4,8,and 12wk compared to the conventional cyclosporine group.

Bone diseases such as osteoporosis and periodontitis are induced by excessive osteoclastic activity,which is closely associated with ***(BA)has been used as a cytokine-suppressive or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug that inhibits the production of proinflammatory cytokines or ***,its role in osteoclast differentiation and function remains ***,we explored the role of BA in regulating osteoclast differentiation and elucidated the underlying *** inhibited osteoclast differentiation and strongly suppressed interleukin-1β(IL-1β)*** inhibited osteoclast formation and bone resorption when added to bone marrowderived macrophages and differentiated osteoclasts,and the inhibitory effect was reversed by IL-1β*** reporter assay and the inhibitor study of IL-1βtranscription suggested that BA inhibited nuclear factor-κB and activator protein-1 by regulating IκB kinase,extracellular signal regulated kinase and P38,resulting in the down-regulation of IL-1β*** also promoted osteoblast ***,BA protected lipopolysaccharide-and ovariectomy-induced bone loss in mice,suggesting therapeutic potential against inflammation-induced bone diseases and postmenopausal osteoporosis.

Infrared Brazing Zirconium using Two Silver Based Foils

Ag-based brazing foils, BAg-8 （72Ag-28Cu in wt%） and Ticusil （68.8Ag-26.7Cu-4.5Ti in wt%） were selected to braze Zr. Interfacial AgCu4Zr, CuZr2 reaction layers and Ag-rich matrix dominate BAg-8 brazed joint, and fractograph after shear test shows ductile dimple fracture with plastic sliding marks. Ticusil joint brazed at 910℃ for 300 s is comprised of CugZr11 and AgZr intermetallics, and fractograph after shear test displays brittle cleavage fracture.
