Harnessing bacteria for tumor therapy:Current advances and challenges

After a century of standstill,bacteria-based tumor therapy has resurged recently benefiting from the revolution of tumor immunotherapy,w.ich provides unique solutions to tackle the obstacles of traditional tumor *** and facultative anaerobes w.th active tropism can selectively colonize at tumor sites and suppress tumor grow.h via different mechanisms,serving as attractive tools for tumor treatment either as a monotherapy or combining w.th other therapies for synergistic anti-tumor *** this critical review.w. introduce the recent advances of bacteria-based tumor therapy from the follow.ng ***,the general properties of bacteria are review.d emphasizing on their structural components related to tumor immunotherapy,and the main bacteria that have been used in tumor therapy are ***,the benefits of bacteria for tumor therapy are illustrated,such as tumor targetability,deep penetration,and facile genetic engineering for attenuation,enhanced efficacy,as w.ll as ***,anti-tumor mechanisms of bacteria are summarized,w.ich refer to intrinsic tumoricidal activities,immune activation,bacteria metabolism,and their capability to regulate gut microbiota ***,bacteria could act as carriers to deliver various types of therapeutics to achieve combination therapy w.th improved *** addition,several challenges for anti-tumor applications of bacteria are discussed regarding the delivery,efficacy and safety issues,and potential solutions are also ***,the possible improvements and perspectives are discussed in the end,w.ich provide a guideline for the design of advanced bacteria-based tumor therapeutics in the future.

An alternative 2D ICEEMDAN-based denoising method and its application in processing magnetic anomaly data

Due to environmental noise and human factors,magnetic data collected in the field often contain various noises and interferences that significantly affect the subsequent data processing and *** Mode Decomposition(EMD),an adaptive multiscale analysis method for nonlinear and non-stationary signals,is w.dely used in geophysical and geodetic data *** w.th traditional EMD,Improved Complete Ensemble EMD w.th Adaptive Noise(ICEEMDAN)is more effective in addressing the problem of mode *** on the principles of 1D ICEEMDAN,this paper presents an alternative algorithm for 2D ICEEMDAN,extending its application to tw.-dimensional *** effectiveness of the proposed approach is demonstrated through synthetic signal experiments,w.ich show.that the 2D ICEEMDAN exhibits a w.aker mode mixing effect compared to the traditional bidimensional EMD(BEMD)***,to improve the performance of the denoising method based on 2D ICEEMDAN and preserve useful signals in high-frequency components,an improved soft thresholding technique is *** magnetic anomaly data testing indicates that our denoising method effectively preserves signal continuity and outperforms traditional soft thresholding *** validate the practical application of this improved threshold denoising method based on 2D ICEEMDAN,it is applied to ground magnetic survey data in the Yandun area of *** results demonstrate the effectiveness of the method in removing noise w.ile retaining essential information from practical magnetic anomaly *** particular,practical applications suggest that 2D ICEEMDAN can extract trend signals more accurately than the *** conclusion,as a potential tool for multi-scale decomposition,the 2D ICEEMDAN is versatile in processing and analyzing 2D geophysical and geodetic data.

Na^(+)/K^(+)-ATPase is a transmembrane protein that has important roles in the maintenance of electrochemical gradients across cell membranes by transporting three Na^(+)out of and tw. Therapeutic cancer vaccines have undergone a resurgence in the past *** of the high level of immune cell accumulation and abundant capillary lymphatic system in the dermis,percutaneous vaccination is considered to be an ideal treatment *** convenient administration,the recent development of microneedles(MNs)provides a safe,painless,and low.cost transdermal delivery strategy,w.ich could bypass the first-pass metabolism of vaccines for enhanced stability and ***,the therapeutic effect of MNs-based cancer vaccines is not optimal,w.ich is limited by the complex set of host,tumor,and environmental factors,as w.ll as the limited vaccine loading ***,further improvements are still required to push their clinical *** this critical review.w. deliberate on how.to improve the therapeutic effect of MNs-based vaccines for cancer immunotherapy,summarize the recent advances in MNs-based cancer vaccination,and provide an overview.of various design strategies and mechanisms for active or passive targeting delivery,aiming to develop safer,more effective,and more stable MNs-based cancer ***,w. briefly describe the potential of vaccine platforms in combination w.th other therapies,suggest the need to design vaccines according to specific circumstances,and discuss the biosafety of repeated administration for enhancing clinical efficacy.

Preparation and properties of Ti_(3)SiC(2) -based corrosion mitigation coatings for SiC_(f) /SiC Pw. accident tolerant fuel cladding

To enhance the resistance of SiC_(f)/SiC to hydrothermal corrosion in the pressurized w.ter reactor(Pw.)environment,structurally tunable Ti_(3)SiC(2)-based corrosion mitigation coatings for SiC_(f)/SiC w.re prepared using molten salt *** influence of various process parameters,such as Si/Ti molar ratio in raw.materials,annealing time,and annealing temperature,on the phase composition and the structure of the coatings w.s *** the process control,the fabricated coatings can be either Ti_(3)SiC(2) monolithic structure or TiC/Ti_(3)SiC(2) and TiC/Ti_(3)SiC(2)/Ti_(5)Si_(3)C_(x) multilayered *** coatings demonstrate strong bonding to the substrate due to in-situ reaction,exhibiting tensile and shear strength of at least 26.9 and 30.8 MPa,*** TiC as a transition layer further enhances the tensile and shear strength to 41.3 and 51.4 MPa,*** Ti_(3)SiC(2) coatings enhance the thermal conductivity of SiC_(f)/SiC by 10%–12%.Notably,Ti_(3)SiC(2) coatings effectively protect SiC_(f)/SiC from hydrothermal corrosion,demonstrating an 83%strength retention rate compared to 71%in the control group after ***,the Ti5Si3Cx layer exhibits unsatisfactory corrosion *** Ti_(3)SiC(2) monolithic coating has higher thermal conductivity,TiC/Ti_(3)SiC(2) multi-layered coating has higher bonding strength,and both have desirable resistance to the hydrothermal corrosion.

A global perspective on microbial risk factors in effluents of w.stew.ter treatment plants

Effective monitoring and management of microbial risk factors in w.stew.ter treatment plants(w.TPs)effluents require a comprehensive investigation of these risks.A global survey on microbial risk factors in w.TP effluents could reveal important insights into their risk *** study aims to explore the abundance and types of antibiotic resistance genes(ARGs),virulence factor genes(VFGs),the vector of ARG/VFG,and dominant pathogens in global w.TP *** collected 113 metagenomes of w.TP effluents from the Sequence Read Archive of the National Center for Biotechnology Information and characterized the microbial risk *** results show.d that multidrug resistance w.s the dominant ARG type,w.ile offensive virulence factors w.re the most abundant type of *** most dominant types of ARGs in the vector of plasmid and phage w.re both aminoglycoside resistance,w.ich is concerning as aminoglycosides are often a last resort for treating multi-resistant *** baumannii w.s the most dominant pathogen,rather than Escherichia coli,and a w.ak negative correlation betw.en Escherichia coli and tw. other dominant pathogens(Acinetobacter baumannii and Bacteroides uniformis)suggests that using Escherichia coli as a biological indicator for all pathogens in w.TP effluents may not be *** Getah virus w.s the most dominant virus found in global w.TP *** study presents a comprehensive global-scale investigation of microbial risk factors in w.TP effluents,providing valuable insights into the potential risks associated w.th w.TP effluents and contributing to the monitoring and control of these risks.

Uncertainty quantification of mechanism motion based on coupled mechanism—motor dynamic model for ammunition delivery system

In this paper,a dynamic modeling method of motor driven electromechanical system is presented,and the uncertainty quantification of mechanism motion is investigated based on this *** main contribution is to propose a novel mechanism-motor coupling dynamic modeling method,in w.ich the relationship betw.en mechanism motion and motor rotation is established according to the geometric coordination of the *** advantages of this include establishing intuitive coupling betw.en the mechanism and motor,facilitating the discussion for the influence of both mechanical and electrical parameters on the mechanism,and enabling dynamic simulation w.th controller to take the randomness of the electric load into *** simulation considering feedback control of ammunition delivery system is carried out,and the feasibility of the model is verified *** on probability density evolution theory,w. comprehensively discuss the effects of system parameters on mechanism motion from the perspective of uncertainty *** w.rk can not only provide guidance for engineering design of ammunition delivery mechanism,but also provide theoretical support for modeling and uncertainty quantification research of mechatronics system.
