We report on the magnetohydrodynamic impact on the axisymmetric flow of Al_(2)O_(3)/Cu nanoparticles suspended in H_(2)O past a stretched/shrinked *** the use of partial differential equations and the corresponding thermophysical characteristics of nanoparticles,the physical flow process is *** resultant nonlinear system of partial differential equations is converted into a system of ordinary differential equations using the suitable similarity *** transformed differential equations are solved *** of the magnetic parameter,solid volume fraction and stretching/shrinking parameter on momentum and temperature distribution have been analyzed and interpreted *** skin friction and Nusselt number were also *** addition,existence of dual solution was deduced for the shrinking sheet and unique solution for the stretching ***,Al_(2)O_(3)/H_(2)O nanofluid flow has better thermal conductivity on comparing with Cu/H_(2)O ***,it was found that the first solutions of the stream are stable and physically realizable,whereas those of the second ones are unstable.

The herd immunity against SARS-CoV-2 is continuously consolidated across the world during the ongoing ***,the potential function of the nonconserved epitopes in the reverse preexisting cross-reactivity induced by SARS-CoV-2 to other human coronaviruses is not well *** our research,we assessed T cell responses to both conserved and nonconserved peptides shared by SARS-CoV-2 and SARS-CoV,identifying cross-reactive CD8^(+)T cell epitopes using enzyme-linked immunospot and intracel.ular cytokine staining ***,in vitro refolding and circular dichroism were performed to evaluate the thermal stability of the HlA/peptide ***,single-cell T cell receptor reservoir was analyzed based on tetramer ***,we discovered that cross-reactive T cells targeting SARS-CoV were present in individuals who had recovered from COVID-19,and identified SARS-CoV-2 CD8^(+)T cell epitopes spanning the major structural antigens.T cell responses induced by the nonconserved peptides between SARS-CoV-2 and SARS-CoV were higher and played a dominant role in the cross-reactivity in COVID-19 ***-T cell reactivity was also observed within the identified series of CD8^(+)T cell *** representative immunodominant peptide pairs,although the HlA binding capacities for peptides from SARS-CoV-2 and SARS-CoV were similar,the TCR repertoires recognizing these peptides were *** results could provide beneficial information for the development of peptide-based universal vaccines against coronaviruses.

This study investigated the mechanical properties of beech (Fagus sylvatica l.) and fir (Abies alba) wood from Bosnia and Herzegovina under outdoor exposure. Samples were exposed for 3-month exposure to assess bending strength, color changes, and surface quality. Results showed outdoor exposure negatively affected mechanical properties, particularly in samples with extended finger joints, causing significant surface cracks in uncoated sam-ples. Beech wood exhibited notable color changes under exposure, with approximately 50% darkening without coating compared to 25% under covered conditions. Coated samples displayed minimal color changes, affirming the efficacy of surface treatment. Fir wood exhibited a roughness of 8.264 μm, while beechwood average roughness increased from 6.767 to 13.916 μm after exposure, with micro-pore development affecting water perfor-mance. Microscopic analysis identified prevalent fungal colonies, including Penicill.um, Aureobasidium, Sclerophoma, and Chaetomium, underscoring their role in organic matter decomposition. This study highlights the importance of wood exposure and treatment selection for various applications. © 2024 The Authors.

The p53 tumor suppressor is the guardian of the rrr- o human genome. Since ,ts discovery in pS3 has been the most studied molecule in the field of cancer. Recently, its role has also been extended to other biological and pathological processes, p53 functions primarily as a transcription factor to regulate target genes that encode proteins crucial for promot- ing apoptotic cell death, cell cycle arrest, senescence, and so on in response to diverse upstream stressors. Interestingly, some of the p53 targets are noncoding RNAs. Noncoding RNAs can be functional without being translated into proteins and are often independent RNA molecules or noncoding parts of messenger RNAs. The past decade has witnessed bur- geoning intensive investigation on the interplay of noncoding RNAs with p53, its regulators, and effectors during the development of cancer and/or other dis- eases. This issue of Journal of Molecular Cell Biology presents five essays to review the rapid progress in this area from five different angles and to offer new insight into the role of noncoding RNAs in the p53 signaling web with updated information.

Objective:The objective of the study was to evaluate mothers/care givers perception of malaria,their treatment practices and the effects on the outcome of ***:Four hundred and sixty children were enrolled and their mothers/care givers *** children were screened for malaria parasitaemia and there after,blood specimens were obtained for biochemical and haematological evaluation from those children who met the criteria and tested positive to *** *** cell volume,electrolytes,urea, creatinine,plasma glucose,and serum bilirubin were ***:A total of 460 children were studied, 233(50.7%) males and 227(49.3%) *** malaria cases were 112(24.3%) and severe malaria 348(75.7%).Those who presented early 106(23.0%) and those who presented late 354(77.0%).Perception and definition of malaria as well as the treatment seeking behaviors vary significantly with the level of education of the mothers and care *** without formal education 68(51.9%) wrongly perceived that the etiology of malaria can only be diagnosed by native doctors compared to those with primary six education 61 (26.5%) and junior secondary education 10(10.1%).Only 43(9.3%) gave the correct dose of chloroquine syrup to their sick children,while 32(7.0%) gave at sub optimal ***:Wrong perception of malaria especially the complicated malaria and wrong treatment practices are major contributory factors to the high mortality and morbidity of malaria in *** is therefore a need for health education to correct the wrong ideas about the cause and treatment practices of malaria as part of malaria control programme.

Memory deficit,which is often associated with aging and many psychiatric,neurological,and neurodegenerative diseases,has been a challenging issue for *** till now,all potential drug candidates have failed to produce satisfa ctory ***,in the search for a solution,we found that a treatment with the gene corresponding to the RGS14414protein in visual area V2,a brain area connected with brain circuits of the ventral stream and the medial temporal lobe,which is crucial for object recognition memory(ORM),can induce enhancement of *** this study,we demonstrated that the same treatment with RGS14414in visual area V2,which is relatively unaffected in neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer s disease,produced longlasting enhancement of ORM in young animals and prevent ORM deficits in rodent models of aging and Alzheimer’s ***,we found that the prevention of memory deficits was mediated through the upregulation of neuronal arbo rization and spine density,as well as an increase in brain-derived neurotrophic factor(BDNF).A knockdown of BDNF gene in RGS14414-treated aging rats and Alzheimer s disease model mice caused complete loss in the upregulation of neuronal structural plasticity and in the prevention of ORM *** findings suggest that BDNF-mediated neuronal structural plasticity in area V2 is crucial in the prevention of memory deficits in RGS14414-treated rodent models of aging and Alzheimer’s ***,our findings of RGS14414gene-mediated activation of neuronal circuits in visual area V2 have therapeutic relevance in the treatment of memory deficits.

Background Agricul.ure has greatly influenced water quality, habitats, and fish assemblages in streams of the Mississippi Al.uvial Plain(MAP) ecoregion. However, MAP streams have historically been understudied compared to streams in other agricul.ural regions of the uSA. In this study, water quality, habitat, and fish assemblage composition were assessed seasonally(spring, summer, and fall) in eight representative MAP streams located across three u.S. states. The study design included four streams containing highly agricul.ural watersheds(herein termed “agricul.ure” streams) and four streams containing mostly forested watersheds(herein termed “forest” streams), which were intended to represent reference conditions for MAP *** In general, forest streams contained significantly better instream and riparian habitats than agricul.ure streams(P = 0.010–0.040) whereas agricul.ure streams contained significantly greater levels of primary nutrients(P ul.ure and forest streams with respect to other physical and chemical variables were intermittent and season dependent. Fish assemblages in agricul.ure and forest streams were structured primarily along an environmental gradient reflecting instream habitat conditions, water nutrient concentrations, and benthic chlorophyll-a production. Structurally, fish assemblages in both stream types contained many regionally common species, though some species appeared to exhibit affinities for a particular stream type. Functionally, fish assemblages in agricul.ure streams contained more tolerant species, more omnivores, and fewer insectivores compared to forest stream assemblages, which were nearly all insectivores. 目的评估超声内镜(EuS)引导下置入弹簧圈联合组织胶注射(ECI)治疗合并自发性分流的胃静脉曲张的有效性、安全性和经济性。方法回顾性分析2019年3月—2022年9月因急性胃静脉曲张出血合并自发性门体分流在襄阳市中心医院住院并接受改良球囊封堵逆行静脉闭塞术(BRTO)联合内镜下ECI或EuS引导下置入弹簧圈联合ECI治疗的患者。统计分析两种手术方式的疗效(技术成功率,5天、1年再出血率,再出血时间)、安全性(异位栓塞发生率、组织胶用量、聚桂醇用量)和经济性(住院费用和时间)差异。符合正态分布的计量资料两组间比较采用成组t检验,不符合正态分布的计量资料两组间比较采用Mann-Whitney u检验。采用Kaplan-Meier法对再出血情况进行评估和比较。计数资料两组间比较采用χ2检验。结果25例患者在EuS引导下成功放置弹簧圈并注射组织胶,技术成功率100%,中位组织胶用量为2.5 ml,中位聚桂醇用量为11.0 ml,平均住院时间为(14.88±3.21)d,平均住院费用为(32660.00±4602.07)元,5天再出血率为0;2例失访,23例完整随访患者中住院期间异位栓塞发生率为0,中位再出血时间为689 d。14例患者接受改良BRTO联合内镜下ECI,技术成功率100%,术中中位组织胶用量为5.0 ml,高于EuS组(u=39.000,Pl;平均住院时间为(15.38±4.94)d;平均住院费用为(57583.47±18955.40)元,高于EuS组(t=−6.310,Plan-Meier生存曲线分析表明,2组患者再出血风险无明显差异(χ^(2)=1.448,P=0.229)。结论EuS引导置入弹簧圈联合ECI是一种相对安全有效的胃静脉曲张出血治疗技术,技术成功率高,严重不良事件发生率低,疗效与BRTO手术无明显差异,但安全性和经济性更高。
