A new online scheduling algorithm is proposed for photovoltaic(PV)systems with battery-assisted energy storage systems(BESS).The stochastic nature of renewable energy sources necessitates the employment of BESS to balance energy supplies and demands under uncertain weather conditions.The proposed online scheduling algorithm aims at minimizing the overall energy cost by performing actions such as load shifting and peak shaving through carefully scheduled BESS charging/discharging activities.The scheduling algorithm is developed by using deep deterministic policy gradient(DDPG),a deep reinforcement learning(DRL)algorithm that can deal with continuous state and action spaces.One of the main contributions of this work is a new DDPG reward function,which is designed based on the unique behaviors of energy systems.The new reward function can guide the scheduler to learn the appropriate behaviors of load shifting and peak shaving through a balanced process of exploration and exploitation.The new scheduling algorithm is tested through case studies using real world data,and the results indicate that it outperforms existing algorithms such as Deep Q-learning.The online algorithm can efficiently learn the behaviors of optimum non-casual off-line algorithms.

To utilize electricity in a clean and integrated manner,a zero-carbon hydro-photovoltaic(PV)-pumped hydro storage(PHS)integrated power system is studied,considering the uncertainties of PV and load demand.It is a challenge for operators to develop a dynamic dispatch mechanism for such a system,and traditional dispatch methods are difficult to adapt to random changes in the actual environment.Therefore,this study proposes a real-time dynamic dispatch strategy considering economic operation and complementary regulatory ability.First,the dynamic dispatch of a hydro-PV-PHS integrated power system is presented as a multi-objective optimization problem and the weight factor between different goals is effectively calculated using information entropy.Afterwards,the dispatch model is converted into the Markov decision process,where the dynamic dispatch decision is formulated as a reinforcement learning framework.Then,a deep deterministic policy gradient(DDPG)is deployed towards the online decision for dispatch in continuous action spaces.Finally,a case study is applied to evaluate the performance of the proposed method based on a real hydroPV-PHS integrated power system in China.Simulations show that the system agent reduces the power volatility of supply by 26.7%after hydropower regulating and further relieves power fluctuation at the point of common coupling(PCC)to the upperlevel grid by 3.28%after PHS participation.The comparison results verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Acylcarnitines are metabolic intermediates of fatty acids and branched-chain amino acids having vital biofunctions and pathophysiological significances. Here, we developed a high-throughput method for quantifying hundreds of acylcarnitines in one run using ultrahigh performance liquid chromatography and tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS/MS). This enabled simultaneous quantification of 1136 acylcarnitines (C0–C26) within 10-min with good sensitivity (limit of detection 0.992), accuracy (relative error 0.998) for predicting retention time (tR) of acylcarnitines with no standards and built a database of their multiple reaction monitoring parameters (tR, ion-pairs, and collision energy). Furthermore, we quantified 514 acylcarnitines in human plasma and urine, mouse kidney, liver, heart, lung, and muscle. This provides a rapid method for quantifying acylcarnitines in multiple biological matrices.

YOLO-DD:Improved YOLOv5 for Defect Detection

As computer technology continues to advance,factories have increasingly higher demands for detecting defects.However,detecting defects in a plant environment remains a challenging task due to the presence of complex backgrounds and defects of varying shapes and sizes.To address this issue,this paper proposes YOLO-DD,a defect detectionmodel based on YOLOv5 that is effective and robust.To improve the feature extraction process and better capture global information,the vanilla YOLOv5 is augmented with a new module called Relative-Distance-Aware Transformer(RDAT).Additionally,an Information Gap Filling Strategy(IGFS)is proposed to improve the fusion of features at different scales.The classic lightweight attention mechanism Squeeze-and-Excitation(SE)module is also incorporated into the neck section to enhance feature expression and improve the model’s performance.Experimental results on the NEU-DET dataset demonstrate that YOLO-DDachieves competitive results compared to state-of-the-art methods,with a 2.0% increase in accuracy compared to the original YOLOv5,achieving 82.41% accuracy and38.25FPS(framesper second).Themodel is also testedon a self-constructed fabric defect dataset,and the results show that YOLO-DD is more stable and has higher accuracy than the original YOLOv5,demonstrating its stability and generalization ability.The high efficiency of YOLO-DD enables it to meet the requirements of industrial high accuracy and real-time detection.

The variable speed and constant frequency pumped storage hydropower(PSH)unit can strongly support the complementation and joint power supply of cascaded hydropower and photovoltaic(PV)plants.Its fast response capability has provided a feasible solution for the rapid power and voltage regulation caused by real-time fluctuations of PV systems.However,currently there is a lack of research on precise evaluation on regulation capability and regulating capacity configuration for PSH to restrain the real-time fluctuations.In this paper,a cascaded hydro-PV-PSH complementary joint power system(CHPP)is studied,and a“rule-based”method for regulating capacity determination is proposed.A combined statistical technique is introduced to analyze the initial estimated regulating capacity of PSH.A continuous cyclic revision method is adopted to renew the ideal PV curve by repeatedly using the main operating constraints until an optimal regulating capacity of PSH matching the PV generation scale is achieved.The results of the case study verified the feasibility and effectiveness of PSH for restraining the fast fluctuations of PV systems in real-time,and the configuration between PV and PSH regulating capacity is obtained with real-time application requirements.Finally,analyses including weather conditions,curtailed energy and electricity shortage,the sensitivity analysis,and state transition frequency are presented to demonstrate the robustness of this study.

Immunotherapy,a burgeoning field differs from traditional cancer treatments,is revolutionizing oncologic therapeutics.It aims to stimulate the innate and adaptive immune system of a patient to fight against tumor cells.However,low response rate and immune-related adverse effects(irAEs)remain problems during its management.A novel technology using nanomaterials may bring a solution.Various nanoparticles have been investigated as delivery systems to augment cancer therapeutic efficacy in the lab and clinic.In this review,we briefly summarize the connotation of immunotherapy,the application of nanotechnology in cancer,especially focusing on the synergistic effect of nanoplatform-based technology combined with cancer immunotherapy,hoping to make readers a deep insight into this interdisciplinary field.

The COVID-19 pandemic,which was caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2),has become a worldwide health crisis due to its transmissibility.SARS-CoV-2 infection results in severe respiratory illness and can lead to significant complications in affected individuals.These complications encompass symptoms such as coughing,respiratory distress,fever,infectious shock,acute respiratory distress syndrome(ARDS),and even multiple-organ failure.Animal models serve as crucial tools for investigating pathogenic mechanisms,immune responses,immune escape mechanisms,antiviral drug development,and vaccines against SARS-CoV-2.Currently,various animal models for SARS-CoV-2 infection,such as nonhuman primates(NHPs),ferrets,hamsters,and many different mouse models,have been developed.Each model possesses distinctive features and applications.In this review,we elucidate the immune response elicited by SARS-CoV-2 infection in patients and provide an overview of the characteristics of various animal models mainly used for SARS-CoV-2 infection,as well as the corresponding immune responses and applications of these models.A comparative analysis of transcriptomic alterations in the lungs from different animal models revealed that the K18-hACE2 and mouse-adapted virus mouse models exhibited the highest similarity with the deceased COVID-19 patients.Finally,we highlighted the current gaps in related research between animal model studies and clinical investigations,underscoring lingering scientific questions that demand further clarification.

联合国参与全球税收治理已有悠久的历史。2023年12月22日,联合国大会通过了《在联合国促进包容和有效的国际税务合作》决议,这一历史性决议引发了关于联合国在全球税收治理中作用的思考。通过SWOT分析,可以发现联合国参与全球税收治理的优势包括会员国的广泛性、处理各类国际事务经验的丰富性、决策机制的民主性和透明性,劣势包括现行国际税务合作机构地位的局限性和专业资源的有限性。同时,广大发展中国家的支持和发达国家的阻挠反对则分别给联合国参与全球税收治理带来了机遇和挑战。在未来相当一段时期内,联合国和经济合作与发展组织的关系或将呈现竞争、协作与互补并存的格局。全球税收治理体系如何变革取决于各辖区和国际组织多维复杂的相互博奔,全球税收治理的公正民主化仍需经历艰难漫长的过程。中国应当积极引领全球税收治理体系的变革方向,维护真正的多边主义和以国际法为基础的国际秩序,支持联合国在全球税收治理中发挥更加重要的作用,加强发展中国家间的税收协调与合作。

Investigation of Student Nurses’Attitudes towards End-of-Life Care and Their Influencing Factors

Background: This cross-sectional investigative study aimed to determine student nurses’ attitudes towards end-of-life care. Methods: This study used a descriptive research design with stratified sampling to survey student nurses enrolled in one of four nursing colleges in China from January 2023 to December 2023. Student nurses’ general demographic and prior related information, attitudes towards death and attitudes towards end-of-life care were determined using a general information questionnaire, the Death Attitude Profile—Revised scale and the Professional End-of-Life Attitude Scale (PEAS), respectively. Results: The total PEAS score was 122.91 ± 16.123. Significant differences were noted in the attitude towards end-of-life care scores according to sources of end-of-life care knowledge (P Conclusions: Student nurses lacked an optimistic attitude towards end-of-life care, which was influenced by differences in the sources of end-of-life care knowledge.
