Quantifying the effects of stripe rust disease on wheat canopy spectrum based on eliminating non-physiological stresses

The wheat canopy reflectance spectrum is affected by many internal and external factors such as diseases and growth stage. Separating the effects of disease stress on the crop from the observed mixed signals is crucial for increasing the precision of remote sensing monitoring of wheat stripe rust. The canopy spectrum of winter wheat infected by stripe rust was processed with the difference-in-differences(DID) algorithm used in econometrics. The monitoring accuracies of wheat stripe rust before and after processing with the DID algorithm were compared in the presence of various external factors, disease severity, and several simulated satellite sensors. The correlation between the normalized difference vegetation index processed by the DID algorithm(NDVI-DID) and the disease severity level(SL) increased in comparison with the NDVI before processing. The increase in precision in the natural disease area in the field in the presence of large differences in growth stage, growth, planting, and management of the crop was greater than that in the controlled experiment. For low disease levels(SL 40%).According to the measured hyperspectral data, the spectral reflectance of three satellite sensor levels was simulated. The wide-band NDVI was calculated. Compared with the wide-band NDVI and vegetation indexes(VI) before DID processing, there were increases in the correlation between SL and the various types of VIS-DID, as well as in the correlation between SL and NDVI-DID. It is feasible to apply the DID algorithm to multispectral satellite data and diverse types of VISfor monitoring wheat stripe rust. Our results improve the quantification of independent effects of stripe rust infection on canopy reflectance spectrum,increase the precision of remote sensing

Objective: To investigate the effects of Chinese herbal monomer shikonin which has the function of cooling blood and detoxification on abnormally activated T lymphocyte and its related signal pathways and to elucidate the role of shikonin in the pathological state of psoriasis and its mechanism of treating psoriasis. Materials and Methods: Jurkat E6?1 T lymphocytes were activated with phorbol ester and ionomycin. The shikonin concentration of 0.5–2 μg/mL was applied to the cells, and the proliferation of T lymphocytes was detected by Cell Counting Kit?8 assay. Flow cytometry was used to measure CD69 expression on the cell membrane and intracellular free calcium ion concentration([Ca^(2+)]i); enzyme?linked immunosorbent assay was used to detect the levels of interleukin(IL)?2, interferon?γ(IFN?γ), and(TNF?α) released by activated T lymphocytes; quantitative polymerase chain reaction and Western blot were used to observe the expression of nuclear transcription factor m RNA and protein, respectively. Results: Different concentrations of shikonin could significantly inhibit cell proliferation, CD69 expression, and secretion of Th1 cytokines. In addition, shikonin could effectively reduce the [Ca^(2+)]i and protein kinase C phosphorylation proteins. Besides that, shikonin could significantly reduce the nuclear transcription factor nuclear factor of activated T lymphocytes mRNA expression, downregulate c?Jun mRNA and protein expression, and inhibit NF?κB protein expression. All the above indicators show a certain dose–effect relationship. Conclusions: Shikonin can exert immune regulation by inhibiting the function of overactivated T lymphocytes. Hence, this study provides experimental basis for the mechanism and application prospect of shikonin in the treatment of psoriasis.

This study presents a direct-writing structure color patterns on electrospun colloidal fibers by inkjet printing. The colloidal fiber was obtained by electrospinning the aqueous mixture of colloidal particles of poly(styrene-methyl methacrylate-acrylic acid) and poly(vinyl alcohol). The pattern was obtained by directly inkjet printing water onto the electrospun colloidal fiber. The pattern formation was attributed to the morphological transition of the colloidal fiber from the fiber aggregation to latex aggregation and the corresponding color change due to the dissolution of poly(vinyl alcohol) by water. Interestingly, a clear and clean image was successfully obtained on the ethanol-treated colloidal fibers film in comparison to a confused and blur image onto the freshly-made film. It is because the treatment process can compact the fiber structure and lower the spreading/wetting behavior of ink on the fiber structure, contributing to the formation of high-quality pattern. Various letters or quick response code were flexibly designed and printed on to colloidal ***, the pattern can be easily transferred onto flexible substrate, i.e., a flexible printed bracelet. This work will be of great significance for the development of novel wearable functional materials/devices based on electrospun colloidal fibers.

Hierarchical Sb_2S_3 hollow microspheres assembled by nanowires have been successfully synthesized by a simple and practical hydrothermal reaction. The possible formation process of this architecture was investigated by X-ray diffraction, focused-ion beam-scanning electron microscopy dual-beam system, and transmission electron microscopy. When used as the anode material for lithium-ion batteries, Sb_2S_3 hollow microspheres manifest excellent rate property and enhanced lithium-storage capability and can deliver a discharge capacity of 674 m Ah g^(-1) at a current density of 200 m A g^(-1) after 50 cycles. Even at a high currentdensity of 5000 m A g^(-1), a discharge capacity of541 m Ah g^(-1) is achieved. Sb_2S_3 hollow microspheres also display a prominent sodium-storage capacity and maintain a reversible discharge capacity of 384 m Ah g^(-1) at a current density of 200 m A g^(-1) after 50 cycles. The remarkable lithium/sodium-storage property may be attributed to the synergetic effect of its nanometer size and three-dimensional hierarchical architecture, and the outstanding stability property is attributed to the sufficient interior void space,which can buffer the volume expansion.

The chromosome constitution of hybrids and chromation patterns of Agropyro-nelelongatum(Host)Neviski in F5 somatic hybrid lines Ⅱ -1-3 and l-1-9 between Triticum aesti-vum *** *** were *** on the statistic data of pollen omther cells,F5 l-1-9 and Ⅱ-1-3 had 20—21 bivalents with a frequency of 84.66% and 85.28%,of which,89.83% and 89.57% were ring *** result indicated that both hybrid lines were basically stable in the chromosome constitution and *** analysis showed that the two hybrids contained biparental and integrated ***(Genome in situ hybridization)revealed that in the form of small chromosome segments,*** chromatin was scattered on 4—6 wheat chromo-somes near by the region of centromere and telomere in the two hybrid *** analysis in-dicated that *** DAN segments were distributed on the 2A,5B,6B and 2D wheat chromosomes in the hybrids,which was in accordance with the GISH results that small-segments intercalated poly-site.

Acute myelogenous leukemia(AML)remains a serious fatal disease for the patients and effective treatment strategies are urgently *** on the characteristics of the AML,we developed the CD44 and bone targeting liposomes delivery system decorated with the redox-cleavable ***,ALN-HA was obtained by amination between alendronate(ALN)and hyaluronic acid(HA),and cholesterol(Chol)was coupled by a disulfide linker(-SS-)with biological reducibility to obtain the goal polymer,ALN-HA-SS-Chol,decorated the liposomes loaded with the Cytarabine(AraC).ALN-HA-SS-AraC-Lip exhibited a spherical morphology with the diameter of 117.5nm and expanded at the environment of 10mM ***,compared with other groups,ALN-HA-SS-AraC-Lip showed benign hydroxyapatite affinity in vitro and bone targeting in C57/BL6 mice,also,ALN-HA-SS-AraC-Lip exhibited encouraging antitumor which significantly reduced the white blood cell amount in bone marrow and blood smear caused by AML model,besides,the dual targeting liposomes also prolong the survival time of *** conclusion,the bone and CD44 dual targeting liposomes with redox sensitivity could target to the leukemia stem cells regions and then uptake by the tumor cells,which would be a valuable target for the treatment of the AML.

Synthesis and Characterization of Chitosan-Albumin Conjugates as pH-Sensitive Biodegradable Hydrogels

A new kind of biodegradable pH-sensitive drug delivery system was developed via chitosan-albumin conjugate hydrogel. Through changing the feeding modes of reactants, two types of hydrogels（comb-type and reticular-type） were synthesized by amidation reactions between 6-O-succinoylated N-phthaloyl chitosan and albumin. The structures and morphologies of the hydrogels were characterized by SEM. And their water swelling capacity, drug loading and releasing properties at different pH values were also investigated. It was found that the comb-type of hydrogels with looser space construction had better water swelling ratio（more than 400% of its original mass） than the reticular-type of ones did（about 180% of its original mass）. In vitro release experiments of Rifampicin show that the hydrogels provided the controlled release of the entrapped drug for more than 50 h. The drug release rates of both types of hydrogels under acidic condition were lower than those under neutral or basic condition. The introduction of albumin not only improved the hydrophilicity of chitosan, but also provided the possibility of the carrier system combining other biologically active materials more easily to fulfill the delivery and therapy functions.
