Effects of elevated CO2 （twice ambient vs. ambient） and Bt CrylAc transgene （Bt cotton cv. 33B vs. its nontransgenic parental line cv. DP5415） on the interspecific competition between two ecologically similar species of cotton aphid Aphis gossypii and whitefly biotype-Q Bemisia tabaci were studied in open-top chambers. The results indicated that elevated CO2 and Bt cotton both affected the population abundances of A. gossypii and biotype-Q B. tabaci when introduced solely （i.e., without interspecific competition） or two species coexisted （i.e., with interspecific competition）. Compared with ambient CO2, elevated COe increased the population abundances ofA. gossypii and biotype-Q B. tabaci as fed on Bt and nontransgenic cotton on 45 （i.e., seedling stage） and 60 （i.e., flowering stage） days after planting （DAP）, but only significantly enhanced aphid abundance without interspecific competition on the 45-DAP nontransgenic cotton and 60-DAP Bt cotton, and significantly increased whitefly abundance with interspecific competition on the 45-DAP Bt cotton and 60-DAP nontransgenic cotton. In addition, compared with nontransgenic cotton at elevated CO2, Bt cotton significantly reduced biotype-Q B. tabaci abundances without and with interspecific competition during seedling and flowering stage, while only significantly decreasing A. gossypii abundances without interspecific competition during the seedling stage. When the two insect species coexisted, the proportions ofbiotype-Q B. tabaci were significantly higher than those ofA. gossypii on Bt and nontransgenic cotton at the same CO2 levels, and elevated CO2 only significantly increased the percentages of biotype-Q B. tabaci and significantly reduced the proportions of A. gossypii on seedling and flowering nontransgenic cotton. Therefore, the effects of elevated CO2 were favorable for biotype-Q B. tabaci to out-compete A. gossypii under the predicted global climate change.

Boosting hydrocarbon conversion via Cu-doping induced oxygen vacancies on CeO2 in CO2 electroreduction

＜正＞It has been reported that the synthesis of 7-amino-6-cyano-5-aryl-5H-pyrano[2,3-d]pyrimidine-2,4（1H,3H）-diones by the reaction of arylidenemalononitrile with barbituric acid under traditional hot reaction condition or microwave irradiation. Here, we report the synthesis of 7-amino-6-cyano-5-aryl-5H-pyrano[2,3-d]pyrimidine-2,4（1H, 3H）-diones via the reaction of aromatic aldehydes and malononitrile with barbituric acid in aqueous media under ultrasound without catalyst.

Conversion of CO2back to hydrocarbons is the most direct way of closing the“carbon cycle”,and its significance is further enlarged if this process is driven by renewable energies such as ***,precisely controlling the product selectivity towards hydrocarbons against the competitive hydrogen evolution remains challenging,especially for Cu-based ***,we report a novel defect engineering strategy,by which Cu-doping-induced oxygen vacancies on CeO2nanorods were effectively created,with adjustable vacancy/Cu *** resulting optimum catalyst shows up to 79% catalytic current density to hydrocarbons （excluding CO）,with 49% faradaic efficiency to *** and density functional theory unveil that the ratio between oxygen vacancy and Cu affects significantly the formation of*CHO and activation of H2O,which leads to the following deep hydrogenation to *** findings may spur new insights for designing and developing more controllable chemical process relevant to CO2utilization.

传统的轴承故障诊断方法非常依赖于研究者的特征提取经验和分类器的参数选择。卷积神经网络存在训练时间长和诊断精度低的问题无法满足高精度设备管理要求。为了提高诊断精度并降低训练时间,本文提出一种有效的轴承故障检测方法。该方法基于FFT和全连接层提取的故障特征能够有效帮助SVM分类器进行分类。凯斯西储大学的开源轴承数据被应用于检测该方法的有效性。该方法可以准确对不同轴承工作状态进行分类,并具有一定程度的鲁棒性。当全部测试集被加入噪音后,依然能够得到99%以上的诊断准确率。实验结果表明与传统方法相比,该方法不但能够提高分类准确精度以达到高精度设备的要求,并且能够大幅降低模型训练时间。

The pathophysiology of Huntington's disease involves high levels of the neurotoxin quinolinic acid. Quinolinic acid accumulation results in oxidative stress, which leads to neurotoxicity. However, the molecular and cellular mechanisms by which quinolinic acid contributes to Huntington's disease pathology remain unknown. In this study, we established in vitro and in vivo models of Huntington's disease by administering quinolinic acid to the PC12 neuronal cell line and the striatum of mice, respectively. We observed a decrease in the levels of hydrogen sulfide in both PC12 cells and mouse serum, which was accompanied by down-regulation of cystathionine β-synthase, an enzyme responsible for hydrogen sulfide production. However, treatment with NaHS(a hydrogen sulfide donor) increased hydrogen sulfide levels in the neurons and in mouse serum, as well as cystathionine β-synthase expression in the neurons and the mouse striatum, while also improving oxidative imbalance and mitochondrial dysfunction in PC12 cells and the mouse striatum. These beneficial effects correlated with upregulation of nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 expression. Finally, treatment with the nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2inhibitor ML385 reversed the beneficial impact of exogenous hydrogen sulfide on quinolinic acid-induced oxidative stress. Taken together, our findings show that hydrogen sulfide reduces oxidative stress in Huntington's disease by activating nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2,suggesting that hydrogen sulfide is a novel neuroprotective drug candidate for treating patients with Huntington's disease.
