A modified two-dimensional Eulerian air quality model was used to simulate both the gaseous and particulate pollutant concentrations during October 21-24, 2004 in the Pearl River Delta （PRD） region, China. The most significant improvement to the model is the added capability to predict the secondary organic aerosols （SOA） concentrations because of the inclusion of the SOA formation chemistry. The meteorological input data were prepared using the CALMET meteorological model. The concentrations of aerosol-bound species such as NO3^-, NH4^＋, SO4^2-, and SOA were calculated in the fine particle size range （〈2.5 μm）. The results of the two-dimensional model were compared to the measurements at the ground level during the PRD Intensive Monitoring Campaign （IMC）. Overall, there were good agreements between the measured and modeled concentrations of inorganic aerosol components and O3. Both the measured and the modeled results indicated that the maximum hourly O3 concentrations exceeded the China National Air Quality Standard. The predicted 24-h average SOA concentrations were in reasonable agreement with those predicted by the method of minimum OC/EC ratio.

In this work,the stability of passive film for long-time immersed Cu-bearing L605(L605-Cu) alloy in the phosphate buffer solution(PBS) was studied by potentiodynamic polarization and electrochemical impedance *** results showed that the impedance of passive film for L605-Cu alloy experienced an initial increase and subsequent stabilization with the increase in the immersion *** addition,the plate count method was employed to assess the antibacterial durability of L605-Cu alloy against Escherichia coli after long-time *** results indicated that the antibacterial rate of L605-Cu alloy presented a declining tendency with the immersion time prolonging.X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS) was used to analyze the change of the chemical composition in the passive film on L605-Cu alloy immersed in the PBS for different *** results showed that Cu content and its compounds in the passive film gradually increased with the immersion time prolonging,hinting declined activity of Cu ions penetrating into the passive film,which resulted in a decrease in the antibacterial performance.

In wireless sensor networks, sensor nodes are usually battery-operated computing and sensing devices, hence operations are limited by the initially equipped batteries, which are hard to be recharged or replaced. ：In this sense, saving energy consumption becomes significant. As most energy waste is from the always-on wireless interface, S-MAC is suggested to reduce energy consumption by introducing periodic listen/sleep scheme. However, when designing the listening time, S-MAC fails to consider the traffic distribution factor. In this article, an optimization for this scheme is proposed based on the distribution model. Evaluations show that the optimized S-MAC achieves considerable improvement in energy and latency.

We made a comprehensive investigation on the electro-optic（EO） properties of hybrid sol-gel silica film doped with Dispersed Red 1 dye（DR1/SiO2）. An important finding is that the dipoles which don＇t orient along the direction of corona poling field in the films can be instantaneously poled by alternate modulation electrical field. This instant poling effect results in the EO coefficients dependent on the frequency and intensity of alternate modulation electric field, and some experiments have proved it. We also investigated the electro-optic coefficients and thickness of films at different stir temperatures（Ts） of start solution and at different number densities of DR1. Experimentally the DR1 number density was optimized to an order of 1021/cm^3 and a large EO coefficient of γ33= 37 pm/V for DR1/SiO2 film was measured by simple reflection technique at 1 kHz frequencies of modulation electric field. These findings may benefit the practical application of DR1/SiO2 films in the field of EO modulator and EO probing.

In this experimental study, involving deuterium–deuterium fusion neutron emission spectroscopy measurement on the experimental advanced superconducting tokamak(EAST), a liquid scintillator detector(BC501 A) was employed. This decision was based on the detector's superior sensitivity, optimal time-response, and its exceptional n–γ discrimination capability. This detector emits fast pulse signals that are as narrow as 100 ns, with high count rates that can peak at several Mcps. However, conventional nuclear circuits faced challenges in performing pulse height analysis, n–γ pulse shape discrimination, and in recording the entire pulse waveform under such high count rate conditions. To address these challenges, a high-speed digital pulse signal acquisition and processing system was designed. The system was developed around a micro-telecommunications computing architecture. Within this structure, a signal acquisition and processing(SAQP) module communicated through PCI Express links, achieving a bandwidth of up to 1.6 GB/s. To accurately capture the detailed shape of the pulses, four channels of analog-to-digital converters were used, each with a 500-MSPS sampling rate and a 14-bit resolution, ensuring an accuracy that surpassed 11 bits. An n–γ discrimination algorithm, based on the two-gate integral method, was also developed. Implemented within field programmable gate arrays, this algorithm provided a real-time n–γ discrimination spectrum for pulse height analysis. The system underwent rigorous testing in a laboratory setting and during an EAST experiment. The results confirmed that the innovative SAQP system can satisfy the demanding requirements of high-parameter experiments, manage count rates of up to 2 Mcps, execute real-time n–γ discrimination algorithms, and record entire pulse waveforms without any data loss.

Nuclear security usually requires the simultaneous detection of neutrons and gamma *** the development of crystalline materials in recent years,Cs2LiLaBr6(CLLB)dual-readout detectors have attracted extensive attention from researchers,where real-time neutron/gamma pulse discrimination is the critical factor among detector performance *** study investigated the discrimination performance of the charge comparison,amplitude comparison,time comparison,and pulse gradient_(m)ethods and the effects of a Sallen–Key filter on their *** results show that the figure of merit(FOM)of all four methods is improved by proper *** them,the charge comparison method exhibits excellent noise resistance;moreover,it is the most_(s)uitable method of real-time discrimination for CLLB ***,its discrimination performance depends on the parameters t_(s),t_(m),and t_(e).When t_(s)corresponds to the moment at which the pulse is at 10%of its peak value,t_(e)requires a delay of only 640–740 ns compared to t_(s),at which time the potentially optimal FOM of the charge comparison method at 3.1–3.3 MeV is greater than *** FOM obtained using the t_(m)value calculated by a proposed maximized discrimination difference model(MDDM)and the potentially optimal FOM differ by less than 3.9%,indicating that the model can provide good guidance for parameter selection in the charge comparison method.

BACKGROUND Unicompartmental knee arthroplasty(UKA)has great advantages in the treatment of unicompartmental knee osteoarthritis,but its revision rate is higher than that of total knee *** To summarize and analyse the causes of revision after *** This is a retrospective case series study in which the reasons for the first revision after UKA are *** analysed the clinical symptoms,medical histories,laboratory test results,imaging examination results and treatment processes of the patients who underwent revision and summarized the reasons for primary revision after *** A total of 13 patients,including 3 males and 10 females,underwent revision surgery after *** average age of the included patients was 67.62 *** prosthesis was used for 3 d to 72 *** main reasons for revision after UKA were improper suturing of the surgical opening(1 patient),osteophytes(2 patients),intra-articular loose bodies(2 patients),tibial prosthesis loosening(2 patients),rheumatoid arthritis(1 patient),gasket dislocation(3 patients),anterior cruciate ligament injury(1 patient),and medial collateral ligament injury with residual bone cement(1 patient).CONCLUSION The causes of primary revision after UKA were gasket dislocation,osteophytes,intra-articular loose bodies and tibial prosthesis *** of these factors may greatly reduce the rate of revision after UKA,improve patient satisfaction and reduce medical burden.

The neutron count rate fluctuation reaches six orders of magnitude between the ohmic plasma scenario and high power of auxiliary heating on an experimental advanced superconducting tokamak(EAST).The measurement result of neutron flux monitoring(NFM)is a significant feedback parameter related to the acquisition of radiation protection-related information and rapid fluctuations in neutron emission induced by plasma magnetohydrodynamic ***,a wide range and high time resolution are required for the NFM system on *** satisfy these requirements,a digital pulse signal acquisition and processing system with a wide dynamic range and fast response time was *** present study was conducted using a field-programmable gate array(FPGA)and peripheral component interconnect extension for instrument express(PXIe)*** digital dual measurement modes,which are composed of the pulse-counting mode and AC coupled square integral's Campbelling mode,were designed to expand the measurement range of the signal acquisition and processing *** time resolution of the signal acquisition and processing system was improved from 10 to 1 ms owing to utilizing highspeed analog-to-digital converters(ADCs),a high-speed PXIe communication with a direct memory access(DMA)mode,and online data preprocessing technology of *** signal acquisition and processing system was tested experimentally in the EAST radiation *** test results showed that the time resolution of NFM was improved to 1 ms,and the dynamic range of the neutron counts rate was expanded to more than 10^(6) counts per *** Campbelling mode was calibrated using a multipoint average linear fitting method;subsequently,the fitting coefficient reached ***,the newly developed pulse signal acquisition and processing system ensures that the NFM system meets the requirements of high-parameter experiments conducted on EAST more effectively.

Energetic particle radiation diagnoses mainly detect the particles(such as neutrons,gamma rays,hard X-rays,and escaping electrons)that are radiated in the discharge process of the experimental advanced superconducting tokamak device to characterize the operating state of the plasma in real *** upgrading of these diagnoses requires new instruments based on national(here,“national”means developed and produced by a Chinese company)core chips and open-source software with advanced digitization,a high sampling rate,and a high time *** new spectroscopy system designed in this study adopts the national field-programmable gate array(FPGA)and an analog-to-digital converter as the core chip,and it is developed using Qt on *** communication between the FPGA and embedded controller occurs via a high-speed peripheral component interconnect eXtension for instrument express protocol with a direct memory access *** this basis,the time resolution of the system is improved from 2 to 1 ms,the maximum channel address is increased to 4096,and the sampling rate is increased from 10 to 80 *** experiments of the spectroscopy system with 152Eu and 137Cs sources demonstrate that the best energy resolution is 0.27%and the measurement error is less than±0.5 keV.
