Comparative study between Embosphere®and Marine gel®as embolic agents for chemoembolization of hepatocellular carcinoma

BACKGROUND While gelatin sponge particles and calibrated microspheres are commonly used as embolic materials in conventional transarterial chemoembolization(cTACE),direct comparisons between these embolic agents are *** To compare the efficacy and safety of superselective cTACE using Embosphere®or Marine gel®in patients with early-stage hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).METHODS This retrospective study included 70 patients with small(<4 cm)HCC who underwent cTACE with Embosphere®(n=33)or Marine gel®(n=37)as the embolic agent at a single center between March 2021 and July *** radiologic images and clinical data were retrospectively reviewed,with an emphasis on tumor response,procedure-related complications,and local tumor *** primary index tumor was assessed on a 1-mo follow-up image,and local progression-free survival was obtained using the Kaplan-Meier method and was compared by the log-rank *** The median tumor size of both groups was 1.5 cm,and 69 patients achieved a complete response one month after *** cumulative local recurrence rate at 12 mo was 15.5%in the Embosphere®group and 14.4%in the Marine gel®*** local progression-free survival was not significantly different between the two groups(P=0.83).In the multivariate analysis,high serum alphafetoprotein was the only significant poor prognostic factor for local tumor progression(P=0.01).Postembolization syndrome occurred in 36.4%of the Embosphere®group and 35.1%of the Marine gel®group,and there were no cases of biloma,biliary duct dilation,or liver abscess in either *** Calibrated gelatin sponge particles(Marine gel®)and calibrated microspheres(Embosphere®)have similar outcomes in terms of tumor response for superselective cTACE of small HCC.

ELK3-ID4 axis governs the metastatic features of triple negative breast cancer

Purpose:Cancer cell metastasis is a multistep process,and the mechanism underlying extravasation remains ***3 is a transcription factor that plays a crucial role in regulating various cellular processes,including cancer *** on the finding that ELK3 promotes the metastasis of triple-negative breast cancer(TNBC),we investigated whether ELK3 regulates the extravasation of TNBC by forming the ELK3-ID4 ***4 functions as a transcriptional regulator that interacts with other transcription factors,inhibiting their activity and subsequently influencing various biological processes associated with cell differentiation,survival,growth,and ***:We assessed the correlation between the expression of ELK3 and that of ID4 in TNBCs using bioinformatics analyses,QRT-PCR,western blot analysis,luciferase reporter assays,and chromatin ***,adhesion,invasion,and lung metastasis assays were employed to determine whether the ELK3-ID4 axis regulates the metastatic features of ***:We found that ELK3 binds directly to a binding motif close to the ID4 promoter to repress promoter *** expression of E-cadherin in TNBC was regulated by the ELK3-ID4 *** vitro and in vivo analyses showed that inhibiting ID4 expression in ELK3-knockdown MDA-MB-231(ELK3KD)cells restored the ability to extravasate and ***:The results indicate that the ELK3 regulates ID4 promoter activity,and that the ELK3-ID4 axis regulates the metastatic characteristics of TNBC ***,the data suggest that the ELK3-ID4 axis regulates metastasis of TNBCs by modulating expression of E-cadherin.

5G technology can greatly improve spectral efficiency(SE)and throughput of wireless *** this regard,multiple inputmultiple output(MIMO)technology has become the most influential technology using huge antennas and user equipment(UE).However,the use of MIMO in 5G wireless technology will increase circuit power consumption and reduce energy efficiency(EE).In this regard,this article proposes an optimal solution for weighing SE and throughput tradeoff with energy *** research work is based on theWyner model of uplink(UL)and downlink(DL)transmission under the multi-cell model *** SE-EE trade-off is carried out by optimizing the choice of antenna and UEs,while the approximation method based on the logarithmic function is used for *** this paper,we analyzed the combination of UL and DL power consumption models and precoding schemes for all actual circuit power consumption models to optimize the trade-off between EE and *** simulation results show that the SE-EE trade-off has been significantly improved by developing UL and DL transmission models with the approximation method based on logarithmic *** is also recognized that the throughput-EE trade-off can be improved by knowing the total actual power consumed by the entire network.

The modern paradigm of the Internet of Things(IoT)has led to a significant increase in demand for latency-sensitive applications in Fog-based cloud ***,such applications cannot meet strict quality of service(QoS)*** large-scale deployment of IoT requires more effective use of network infrastructure to ensure QoS when processing big ***,cloud-centric IoT application deployment involves different modules running on terminal devices and cloud *** devices with different computing capabilities must process the data generated by the end device,so deploying latency-sensitive applications in a heterogeneous fog computing environment is a difficult *** addition,when there is an inconsistent connection delay between the fog and the terminal device,the deployment of such applications becomes more *** this article,we propose an algorithm that can effectively place application modules on network nodes while considering connection delay,processing power,and sensing data *** with traditional cloud computing deployment,we conducted simulations in iFogSim to confirm the effectiveness of the *** simulation results verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm in terms of end-to-end delay and network ***,latency and execution time is insensitive to the number of sensors.
