Population Improvement of Resistance to Late Blight in Tetraploid Potato:A Case Study in Combination with AFLP Marker Assisted Background Selection

Cultivated potato with high level of horizontal resistance against late blight is one of the most important goals of potato *** recurrent selection has been adopted to increase the level of potato horizontal resistance and a B3C1 population without R1-R11 dominant genes has been released by the International Potato Center at the short-day condition of *** present research was carried out to further improve the resistance and the agronomic traits of B3C1 population under long-day condition of Hubei,China,with maximized retention of its genetic ***-seven individual clones of B3C1 were used to generate population B3C2 by in-population crossing with the bulk pollens aiming to elevate the frequency of late blight resistance genotypes and to improve the adaptation to local long-day *** late blight resistance and the main agronomic traits including the maturity,the plant characters and the tuber traits were evaluated for the foreground selection in three years,by which 130 pedigrees were maintained as the basic population of B3C2 for further selection.A total of 312 polymorphic loci detected by 9 AFLP marker combinations were used to monitor the genetic diversity of the populations for the background *** B3C2 population of 51 clones was finally selected,of which the frequency of resistant genotypes increased by 23.8% points and the genetic diversity was maintained by about 96% as referred to *** results strongly suggested that combination of the foreground selection for target traits and the background selection for the genetic diversity is an efficient strategy in the recurrent selection of tetraploid potato to improve quantitative traits.

An NLO hyperbranched polymer （HP1） derived from both ＂H＂-type and star-type chromophores was synthesized successfully for the first time with high yield via one-pot ＂A2 ＋ B3＂ Suzuki polymerization reaction. Isolation chromophore was also introduced to further improve its performance. Although under the test conditions, the films of HP1 could not be poled completely, it still demonstrated satisfactory macroscopic NLO effect with the second harmonic generation （SHG） coefficient d33 value of 36 pm/V.

Exploring non-noble metal and high-activity electrocatalysts through a simple and controllable protocol remains a great challenge for oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)and zinc-air ***,we developed a melt polymerization strategy to synthesize iron-polyphthalocyanine(FePPc)metallic-organic frameworks(MOFs)over the carbon black matrix(Fe PPc@CB).Through noncovalentπ-πinteractions,Fe PPc molecules can anchor on carbon matrix,thus facilitating the electron transfer process and stabilizing the *** to abundant free electrons and atomically MN4 catalytic sites in the macrocycle structure,FePPc@CB exhibits excellent oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)and oxygen evolution reaction(OER)electrocatalytic *** FePPc@CB also delivers excellent performances for liquid and flexible all-solidstate batteries compared to that of commercial Pt/C,making it a promising ORR/OER electrocatalyst.

Microstructure and shear properties evolution of Mn-doped SAC solder joint under isothermal aging

The effects of Mn addition(0.005,0.01,0.03,0.05,and 0.07 wt.%)on microstructure,shear mechanical behavior,and interfacial thermal stabilities of SAC305 joints were investigated under isothermal aging temperatures of 170 C with different aging time(0,250,500,and 750 h).It is found that Mn addition can increase fracture energy of joints without decreasing the shear *** the microstructures have transformed from the eutectic net-like structure in SAC305 solder joints into the structures based onβ-Sn matrix with intermetallic compounds(IMCs)*** doping 0.07 wt.%Mn,the Cu_(6)Sn_(5) growth along the SAC305/Cu interface during thermal aging can be inhibited to some *** isothermal aging at 170°C,the maximum shear force of solder joint decreases continuously with aging time increasing,while the fracture energy rises first and then decreases,reaching the maximum at 500 h compared by that with the microstructure ***_(3)Sn growth between Cu_(3)Sn_(5)/Cu interface has been retarded most at the aging time of 250 h with 0.07 wt.%Mn-doped *** the aging time prolonging,the inhibition effect of Mn on CusSn IMC layer becomes *** strengthening effect of Mn can be explained by precipitation strengthening,and its mechanical behavior can be predicted by particle strengthening model proposed by Orowan.

In order to identify the potential nephrotoxic compounds in traditional Chinese medicine Lithospermum erythrorhizon,it was separated into serial fractions according to their *** in vitro method was utilized to determine the nephrotoxicity of these fractions with the help of fluorescence image *** a result,the primary fraction A05 and its secondary fractions C06 ＂C09 and C12 ＂C14 were found to have significant toxicity to LLC-PK1 cell line,as determined by the survive rate less than 20% after they were treated with these *** potential nephrotoxic fractions were further analyzed by multistage and high resolution mass *** main compounds in these fractions were tentatively identified to be acetylshikonin,isobutyrylshikonin,β,β＇-dimethyla-cryloylshikonin,and isovalerylshikonin,which may bring nephrotoxicity.

Accreting CO material onto ONe white dwarfs towards accretion-induced collapse

The final outcomes of accreting ONe white dwarfs（ONe WDs） have been studied for several decades,but there are still some issues that are not resolved. Recently,some studies suggested that the deflagration of oxygen would occur for accreting ONe WDs with Chandrasekhar masses. In this paper,we aim to investigate whether ONe WDs can experience accretion-induced collapse（AIC） or explosions when their masses approach the Chandrasekhar limit. Employing the stellar evolution code Modules for Experiments in Stellar Astrophysics（MESA）,we simulate the longterm evolution of ONe WDs with accreting CO material. The ONe WDs undergo weak multicycle carbon flashes during the mass-accretion process,leading to mass increase of the WDs. We found that different initial WD masses and mass-accretion rates influence the evolution of central density and temperature. However,the central temperature cannot reach the explosive oxygen ignition temperature due to neutrino cooling. This work implies that the final outcome of accreting ONe WDs is electroncapture induced collapse rather than thermonuclear explosion.

Hydraulic fracturing technology plays a key role in improving the recovery rate of shale *** improvement of permeability in relation to hydraulic fracturing depends on changes brought about by the proppant on the fracture structure in *** it is of great significance to describe the microscopic changes during this process by means of an accurate theoretical *** this study,based on the heterogeneity of shale fracture and the compaction and embedment of a proppant,we proposed a permeability model to examine the combined effects of a proppant and stress to describe the change mechanism in ***,changes in fracture width and porosity were considered,and a calculation model of fracture compressibility under proppant compaction and embedment was *** difference from previous studies is that the compressibility and permeability of supported fractures can be further quantified and analyzed by this ***,its rationality was verified by publicly released test *** results show that,the compressive effect of stress and the embedding of proppant both have a negative impact on shale permeability.

Heterogeneous network for long term evolution advanced（LTE-A） creates severe *** is an urgent task to overcome the interference in macro cellular with low-power base stations（BSs）,such as relay,pico,and femto called subnet *** this paper,the cognitive interference model in interference zone（IZ） of the practical heterogeneous scenario is *** on investigation of interaction between the macro BS and subnet nodes in this model,the strategy framework of the cognitive critical ratio and power reward factor is set up for interference management aiming to get the maximum net saving *** study of interference management is transformed into a multiple objective non-linear programming（MONLP） of the maximum saving power for the macro BS and subnet *** facilitate the best compromise solution for both,the MONLP is changed into single objective programming and genetic algorithm（GA） is employed to obtain the global optimum *** addition,the practical implementation using the proposed algorithm in heterogeneous network for LTE-A is ***,numerical evaluation is used to test the applicability of the proposed algorithm,and system level simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed interference management scheme.
