simulation model optimization for bonnet polishing considering consistent contact area response

simulation model optimization plays a crucial role in the accurate prediction of material removal function in bonnet polishing processes,but model complexity often poses challenges to the practical implementation and efficiency of these *** paper presents an innovative method for optimizing simulation model parameters,focusing on achieving consistent contact area and the accurate prediction of the material removal function while preventing increase in model ***,controllable and uncontrollable factors in bonnet simulations are analyzed,and then a simplified contact model is developed and applied under constant force *** characterize the bonnet's contact performance,a contact area response curve is introduced,which can be obtained through a series of single spot contact ***,a rubber hyperelastic parameter optimization model based on a neural network is proposed to achieve optimal matching of the contact area between simulation and *** average deviation of the contact area under different conditions was reduced from 22.78%before optimization to 3.43%after optimization,preliminarily proving the effectiveness of the proposed simulation optimization ***,orthogonal experiments are further conducted to validate the proposed *** comparison between the experimental and predicted material removal functions reveals a high consistency,validating the accuracy and effectiveness of the proposed optimization method based on consistent contact *** research provides valuable insights into enhancing the reliability and effectiveness of bonnet polishing simulations with a simple and practical approach while mitigating the complexity of the model.

A high-entropy-designed cathode with V5+-V2+ multi-redox for high energy density sodium-ion batteries

Prediction of damage potential in mainshock–aftershock sequences using machine learning algorithms

Assessing the potential damage caused by earthquakes is crucial for a community’s emergency *** this study,four machine learning(ML)methods—random forest,extremely randomized trees,AdaBoost(AB),and gradient boosting(GB)—were employed to develop prediction models for the damage potential of the mainshock(DIMs)and mainshock–aftershock sequences(DIMA).Building structures were modeled using eight single-degree-of-freedom(sDOF)systems with different hysteretic rules.A set of 662 recorded mainshock–aftershock(Ms-As)ground motions was selected from the PEER *** intensity measures(IMs)were chosen to represent the characteristics of the mainshock and *** results revealed that the selected ML methods can well predict the structural damage potential of the sDOF systems,except for the AB *** GB model exhibited the best performance,making it the recommended choice for predicting DIMs and DIMA among the four ML ***,the impact of input variables in the prediction was investigated using the shapley additive explanations(sHAP)*** high-correlation variables were sensitive to the structural period(T).At T=1.0 s,the mainshock peak ground velocity(PGVM)and aftershock peak ground displacement(PGDA)significantly influenced the prediction of *** T increased to 5.0 s,the primary high-correlation factor of the mainshock IMs changed from PGVM to the mainshock peak ground displacement(PGDM);however,the highcorrelation variable of the aftershock IMs remained *** high-correlation factors for DIMs showed trends similar to those of ***,a table summarizing the first and second high-correlation variables for predicting DIMs and DIMA were provided,offering a valuable reference for parameter selection in seismic damage prediction for mainshock–aftershock sequences.

Given Nepal's vulnerability to extreme precipitation(EP),it is imperative to conduct a comprehensive analysis to comprehend the historical trends of such ***,acquiring precise precipitation data for EP remains challenging in mountainous countries like Nepal owing to the scarcity of densely gauged *** limitation impedes the dissemination of knowledge pertaining to EP variability events in *** current research on this topic is deficient for two main reasons:1)there is a lack of studies leveraging recently released high-resolution precipitation products to identify their EP detection capabilities,which further hinders the usability of those products in data-scarce regions like Nepal,and 2)most studies have focused on the characterisation of EP events in Nepal rather than their spatial and temporal *** address these issues,this study evaluated the EP detection capabilities of four high-resolution precipitation product datasets(PPDs)across Nepal from 1985 to *** datasets include the ERA5 Land reanalysis data,satellite-based precipitation data(PERsIANN_CCs_CDR and CHIRPs_V2.0)and a merged dataset(TPHiPr).We used various statistical and categorical indices to assess their ability to capture the spatial and temporal variability of EP *** annual EP events were characterised by 11 indices divided into frequency and intensity *** TPHiPr merged dataset offered a robust depiction of monthly precipitation estimates,achieving the highest critical success index,accuracy,probability of detection and a low false alarm ratio for daily precipitation detection of 0.1 mm in ***,the PERsIANN_CCs_CDR dataset exhibited poor *** PPDs showed increasing trends in EP ***,the TPHiPr dataset showcased those trends with fewer errors and stronger correlations for many frequency(R10mm,R20mm and R25mm)and intensity(RX1day,RX5day,PRCPTOT and R99p)*** results indicate that TPHiPr outperformed ot

splenic infarction(sI)is a rare clinical phenomenon that occurs when the blood supply to the spleen is interrupted,resulting in tissue ischemia and necrosis[1].There are many causes of sI;in adult patients,cardioembolism,hematological malignancy,and infectious disease are the most common[2].Rheumatic diseases,especially systemic lupus erythematosus(sLE)and granulomatosis with polyangitis,can also lead to sI[3];however,only a few cases have been *** are currently no statistically meaningful data on the etiology of sI in *** most patients with sI can recover after conservative treatment,a small number of patients develop complications,such as splenic abscess,splenic rupture,splenic hemorrhage,and hemoperitoneum,and may even undergo splenectomy in severe cases.

Development of endemicity and conservation importance indices for tropical forests and the floral diversity assessment of *** in Benguet,Philippines

The scientific community faces the challenge of measuring progress toward biodiversity targets and indices have been traditionally ***,recent inventories in secondary tropical mountain forests using traditional biodiversity indices have yielded results that are indistinct with primary *** shows the need to develop complementary indices that goes beyond species count but integrates the distribution and conservation status of the *** study developed endemicity and conservation importance index for tropical forest that incorporated the distribution and conservation status of the *** indices were applied to ***,a remnant primary mossy forest in Buguias,Benguet,Philippines,that resulted to endemicity index of 81.07 and conservation importance index of *** these with secondary forest sites with comparable shannon-Wiener,simpson,Evenness and Margalef’s indices,our endemicity and conservation indices clearly differentiates primary forest(our study site)with higher values from secondary forests with much lower ***,we are proposing these indices for a direct but scientifically-informed identification of specific sites for conservation and protection in tropical ***,our study documented a total of 168 vascular plant species(79 endemic and 12 locally threatened species)in *** are of tropical elements for both generic and species levels with some temperate elements that could be attributed to the site's high elevation and semi-temperate *** are important baseline information for conservation plans and monitoring of tropical mossy forests.
