Introduction: A traumatic brain injury (TBI) is caused by a forceful bump, blow, or jolt to the head or body, or by an object that pierces the skull and interrupts the normal function of the brain. Severe TBI is estimated at 73 cases per 100,000 people. The mortality of severe TBI can be reduced if a timely diagnosis and treatment of the injuries are made through prognostic factors. Objective: To determine the prognostic factors related to mortality in severe traumatic brain injury at the Hospital General de Zona No. 46. Material and Methods: Retrospective, cross-sectional and descriptive study in beneficiaries admitted to the Hospital General de Zona (HGZ) No. 46 of the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS by its acronym in Spanish), with a diagnosis of severe TBI;the possible prognostic factors related to mortality of severe TBI were obtained from their records. Measures of central tendency and chi square were used for data analysis. Results: The study sample consisted of 60 subjects diagnosed with severe traumatic brain injury, of which 5 (8%) were women and 55 (92%) were men, and all 60 (100%) patients died. The average age of the sample was 26 with a standard deviation of 9 years. The variables that had a p value less than or equal to 0.05 were: Mydriasis, seizures, Hyperglycemia, Normoglycemia, Hypothermia and Hypotension. This means that these variables were associated with mortality. Conclusion: Statistical significance is demonstrated in prognostic factors of mortality in severe traumatic brain injury with p < 0.05 in the case of mydriasis, seizures, hyperglycemia, normoglycemia, hypothermia and hypotension.

本文报告试用化学诱变剂 N-methyl-N’-Nitro-N-nitrosoguanidine(NTG)处理中国大陆株日本血吸虫尾蚴,免疫小鼠诱导产生保护力的初步结果。尾蚴用0、20、30、50、75及100微克/毫升 NTG处理30或60分钟后,经肤感染C3H小鼠,6周后解剖检虫,结果NTG浓度超过 30微克/毫升各组都无虫,NTG 20 微克/毫升处理 30分钟组观察到肝脏病变。选用 NTG 30微克/毫升处理30或60分钟及20微克/毫升处理60分钟的尾蚴进行免疫试验。C3H 小鼠免疫接种NTG处理尾蚴40条,2周后再接种一次,初次感染后 8周以 40条正常尾蚴进行攻击。结果NTG 20微克/毫升处理60分钟尾蚴免疫组减虫率达39.2％,经t测验证明有显著性差异。此检虫率低于X-射线照射尾蚴免疫所获得的结果,而更近似于伴随免疫作用。

Little research can be found in relation to the stability of anisotropic and heterogenous soils in three *** this paper,we propose a study on the three-dimensional(3D)undrained slopes in anisotropic and heterogenous clay using advanced upper and lower bounds finite element limit analysis(FELA).The obtained stability solutions are normalized,and presented by a stability number that is a function of three geometrical ratios and two material ratios,*** ratio,length ratio,slope angle,shear strength gradient ratio and anisotropic strength *** results are compared with experimental data in the literature,and charts are presented to cover a wide range of design *** the multivariate adaptive regression splines(MARS)analysis,the respective influence and sensitivity of each design parameter on the stability number and the failure mechanism are *** empirical equation is also developed to effectively estimate the stability number.

Most geotechnical stability research is linked to“active”failures,in which soil instability occurs due to soil self-weight and external surcharge *** contrast,research on passive failure is not common,as it is predominately caused by external loads that act against the soil *** earlier active trapdoor stability investigation using the Terzaghi’s three stability factor approach was shown to be a feasible method for evaluating cohesive-frictional soil ***,this technical note aims to expand“active”trapdoor research to assess drained circular trapdoor passive stability(blowout condition)in cohesive-frictional soil under axisymmetric *** numerical finite element limit analysis(FELA)simulations,soil cohesion,surcharge,and soil unit weight effects are considered using three stability factors(Fc,Fs,and Fγ),which are all associated with the cover-depth ratio and soil internal friction *** upper-bound(UB)and lower-bound(LB)results are presented in design charts and tables,and the large dataset is further studied using an artificial neural network(ANN)as a predictive model to produce accurate design *** proposed passive trapdoor problem under axisymmetric conditions is significant when considering soil blowout stability owing to faulty underground storage tanks or pipelines with high internal pressures.

为了合理确定路面结构设计时的输入参数,引入自组织特征映射神经网络,结合Matlab软件对神经网络进行权值训练,将网络训练是否收敛来作为分类的依据,根据温度、交通量和降雨量等几个重要参数对道路进行季节分类,最后按照分类结果进行路面结构分析与材料设计.实践证明,该方法分类效果良好,能很好地解决路面设计参数的合理确定问题,从而大大延长路面的使用寿命,提高道路投资的经济效益.

Background: In developing countries, access to modern contraceptive methods remains a concern, particularly in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). Although satisfactory progress in increasing family planning use has been observed worldwide, demand and unmet need continue to grow. This study describes the different reasons that push women in rural and urban areas of Kongo Central province in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) to choose one of the modern contraceptive methods. Methods: A cross-sectional, analytical study on the 705 clients recruited during the family planning mini-campaigns organized from January to March 2021 in 8 health zones of the Kongo Central Province in DRC. Community Contraceptive Methods Distributors (CCMD) collected the data, community health workers (CHW) trained in clinical providers’ community family planning service. The Pearson’s chi2 test was used to compare the proportions of the methods chosen in the different study variables categories, and logistic regression was done to analyze the strength of association between the uses of long-acting reversible contraceptives (LARC) with the study variables. Results: The mean age (SD) of the clients was 25.7 years. The median number of living children was 2 children and that of pregnancies carried per client was 3. Three (3) clients under the age of 20 out of 126 (2.4%) have 3 to 4 living children and one a up to 6 living children. Out of a total of 705 clients, 11.1% aged under 20 and 39.1% of clients aged 20 to 24 requested LARC. Divorced and unmarried women chose SAC and married and common-law women chose LARC more, compared to other categories of women. Unemployed women prefer SACs more than other professional categories, and women farmers prefer LARC. The level of education has no influence on the choice of method. The use of LARC increased with the number of pregnancies carried, children alive, and children who died. The age and number of children who died did not influence the assoc

AIM:To discuss the feasibility of single session endoscopic ultrasonography(EUS) to discuss and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography(ERCP) ***:Retrospective endoscopic and anesthetic outcome comparison of performing both EUS and ERCP in a single endoscopic session(Group Ⅰ) versus performing each procedure in two different sessions(Group Ⅱ) was *** following variables were evaluated:epidemiological variables,American Society of Anesthesiologists Physical Status Classification(ASA) level,procedural time,propofol dose,anesthetic complications,endoscopic complications and diagnostic yield,and therapeutic procedures on both groups.T-student,chiSquare and Fisher test were used for ***:We included 39 patients in Group Ⅰ(mean age:69.85 ± 9.25;27 men) and 46 in Group Ⅱ(mean age:67.46 ± 12.57;25 men).Procedural time did not differ significantly between both groups(Group Ⅰvs Group Ⅱ:93 ± 32.78 vs 98.98 ± 38.17;P >0.05) but the dose of propofol differed(Group Ⅰ vs Group Ⅱ:322.28 ± 250.54 mg vs 516.96 ± 289.06 mg;P = 0.001).Three patients had normal findings on both *** anesthetic complications [O2 desaturation(2),broncoaspiration(1)] and 9 endoscopic complications [pancreatitis(6),bleeding(1),perforation(1),cholangitis(1)] occurred without significant differences between both groups(P > 0.05).We did not find any significant difference regarding age,sex,ASA scale level,diagnostic yield or therapeutic maneuvers between both ***:The performance of EUS and ERCP in a single session offers a similar diagnostic and therapeutic yield,does not entail a higher complication risk and requires a significantly smaller dose of propofol for sedation compared with performing each exploration in a different session.
