Collective oscillations of massless particles in two-dimensional(2D)Dirac materials offer an innovative route toward implementing atomically thin devices based on low-energy quasiparticle *** confinement of nearfield distribution on the 2D surface is essential to demonstrate extraordinary optoelectronic functions,providing means to shape the spectral response at the mid-infrared(IR)*** the dynamic polarization from the linear response theory has successfully accounted for a range of experimental observations,a unified perspective was stll elusive,connecting the state-of-the-art developments based on the 2D Dirac ***,we review recent works on graphene and three-dimensional(3D)topological insulator(TI)plasmon-polariton,where the mid-IR and terahertz(THz)radiation experiences prominent confinement into a deep-subwavelength scale in a novel optoelectronic *** presenting general light-matter interactions between 2D Dirac plasmon and subwavelength quasiparticle excitations,we introduce various experimental techniques to couple the plasmonpolaritons with electromagnetic *** and optical controls over the plasmonic excitations reveal the hybridized plasmon modes in graphene and 3D Tl,demonstrating an intense near-field interaction of 2D Dirac plasmon within the highly-compressed *** findings can further be applied to invent optoelectronic biomolecular sensors,atomically thin photodetectors,and laser-driven light sources.

Microstructural evolution and grain growth mechanism of pre-twinned magnesium alloy during annealing

The microstructural evolution and underlying grain growth mechanism of a{1012}-twin-containing Mg alloy during annealing are investigated through quasi in situ electron backscatter diffraction measurements of a rolled AZ31 alloy subjected to precompression along the rolling direction(RD).The precompressed material shows a partially twinned structure consisting of a twinned region and a residual matrix region,and this structure changes to an almost twin-free structure consisting of grown grains with serrated grain boundaries in twinand matrix-originated regions after annealing at 250℃ for 1 *** addition,the average grain size almost doubles and the internal strain energy decreases significantly after *** microstructural variations are induced mainly by grain growth through the strain-induced migration of high-angle grain boundaries without the movement of twin *** twinned region of the precompressed material has higher stored strain energy than the residual matrix region because the crystallographic orientation of the former region is favorable for basal slip and because of the occurrence of the dislocation transmutation reaction in the *** reducing the total strain energy accumulated in the precompressed material,the residual matrix region—having lower stored strain energy—preferentially grows while consuming the twinned regions formed in the surrounding grains during *** a result,the area fraction of grains with a matrix texture increases whereas that of grains with a twin texture decreases after *** twin texture intensity increases significantly and this texture becomes more concentrated along the RD because the highly RD oriented twins tend to grow during annealing on account of their fairly low stored strain energy.

Crystalline(Na_(1-x)K_(x))NbO_(3)(NKN)thin films were deposited on Sr_(2)Nb_(3)O_(10)/TiN/Si(S-TS)substrates at 370°***_(2)Nb_(3)O_(10)(SNO)nanosheets served as a template for the formation of crystalline NKN films at low *** the NKN film was deposited on one SNO monolayer,the NKN memristor exhibited normal bipolar switching characteristics,which could be attributed to the formation and destruction of oxygen vacancy ***,the NKN memristor with one SNO monolayer exhibited artificial synaptic ***,the NKN memristor deposited on two SNO monolayers exhibited self-rectifying bipolar switching properties,with the two SNO monolayers acting as tunneling barriers in the *** conduction mechanism of the NKN memristor with two SNO monolayers in the highresistance state is attributed to Schottky emission,direct tunneling,and Fowler–Nordheim(FN)*** current conduction in this memristor in the low-resistance state was governed by direct tunneling and FN ***,the NKN memristor with two SNO monolayers exhibited large ON/OFF and rectification ratios and artificial synaptic ***,an NKN memristor with two SNO monolayers can be used for fabricating artificial synaptic devices with a cross-point array structure.

A physical model for simulating plasmonic solar cells (SCs) using the SILVACO TCAD simulator is establisled and the effects of some factors on the efficiency enhancement of the amorphous silicon thin film SCs are *** this simulation,it is demonstrated that our method can successfully simulate the optical and electrical properties of plasmonic solar cells without the overestimation of the characteristics and without the neglect of parameter change in the device operation *** is shown that not only the size and kind of metal nanoparticles but also other factors,such as the surrounding medium,the distance from the bottom of particles to the device surface,and the light incident angle,play important roles in the optical and electrical properties of plasmonic SCs.

Numerical modeling of sedimentation control scenarios in the approach channel of the Nakdong River Estuary Barrage,South Korea

The effects of sedimentation reduction at the Nakdong River Estuary Barrage(NREB) in Korea were quantitatively analyzed with respect to different sediment control methods using the calibrated and validated two-dimensional *** countermeasures of sediment dredging,sediment flushing,channel geometry change,and a combination of flushing and channel geometry change were examined for the approach channel of the *** flood event and channel geometries of the 3.8 km section upstream of the NREB surveyed before and after dredging in 2007 were used for modeling *** a result,the half of sediments dredged in 2007 could be eliminated naturally by floods without *** numerical simulation of sediment flushing indicated that the deposition height decreased in the entire simulation section with the minimum and maximum reductions from 0.3 in to1.3 m in deposition *** channel contraction method produced quantitatively the largest amount of sedimentation reduction and sediment flushing and dredging *** reduction by a combination of flushing and channel contraction was up 10%compared to the individual method of channel contraction.

This study investigates the variations in the microstructural characteristics of a pre-twinned Mg alloy with the temperature of the subsequent annealing *** this end,a rolled AZ31 alloy is compressed to 3%plastic strain along the rolling direction(RD)to activate{10-12}twinning and is subsequently annealed at 200,250,300,350,and 400℃.Numerous{10-12}twins are formed throughout the compressed material,leading to the formation of a RD-oriented *** an annealing temperature of 200℃,no microstructural variations occur during *** the annealing temperature increases from 250 to 400℃,the residual strain energy and remaining twin boundaries of the annealed material decrease owing to the promoted static recovery and the increased area fraction of twin-free grown ***,an increase in the annealing temperature results in a gradual microstructural transition from a fully twinned grain structure to a completely twin-free grain *** microstructural evolution during annealing is predominantly governed by the movement of high-angle grain boundaries via a strain-induced boundary migration mechanism,and a few twin boundaries migrate above 350℃because of their lower boundary *** boundary migration behavior and resultant microstructural evolution are discussed in detail based on the variations in boundary mobility and driving force for boundary migration with annealing temperature.

Variations in microstructure and bending formability of extruded Mg–Al–Zn–Ca–Y–MM alloy with precompression and subsequent annealing treatment conditions

In this study, the bending formability of an extruded Mg–9Al–1Zn–0.3Mn–0.9Ca–0.6Y–0.5 MM(AZXWMM91100, wt%) alloy at room temperature is significantly improved through application of a combined precompression and subsequent annealing(PCA) treatment. As the amount of precompression applied along the extrusion direction(ED)(i.e., the total strain) increases from 4% to 6%, the area fraction of ED-oriented grains of the PCA-treated alloy increases, which consequently causes an improvement in its bending formability because these grains accommodate larger tensile strain along the ED during bending. As the temperature of the subsequent annealing treatment increases from 350 ℃ to 450 ℃, both the area fraction of the ED-oriented grains and the average grain size increase, and the residual dislocation density decreases owing to the promotion of boundary migration and occurrence of the recovery process at higher ***, the bending formability of both the 4%-precompressed and the 6%-precompressed samples increases with an increase in the annealing temperature. However, when the precompressed samples are annealed at 300 ℃, their bending formability is lower than that of the extruded alloy because the dislocations formed by precompression remain even after the subsequent annealing at this temperature.

Gastric heterotopia of colon found cancer workup in liver abscess:A case report

BACKGROunD Recently reported cases of pyogenic liver abscess associated with colonic cancer in the absence of underlying disease,have included a small number of cases of gastric heterotopia(GHT).GHT is a congenital anomaly composed of ectopic gastric mucosa and can occur anywhere in the gastrointestinal tract but is more frequently encountered in the cervical ***,it is rarely observed in ***,most reported cases of GHT of the colon involved the rectum,and GHT involving the colon proximal to the rectum is *** SUMMARY An 83-year-old male patient presented with fever and a diagnosis of pyogenic liver *** was performed for colon cancer workup and revealed a 1.0 cm sized polyp at the transverse *** polyp was removed by endoscopic mucosal resection by monopolar electrocauterization using a *** examination revealed *** administering intravenous antibiotics,the patient recovered *** GHT in the colon could affect the development of pyogenic liver abscess by enabling hematogenous propagation of Klebsiella pneumoniae through mucosal ***,more study is needed due to the lack of cases.

Prediction of characteristic blast-induced vibration frequency during underground excavation by using wavelet transform

Blast-induced vibration produces a very complex signal,and it is very important to work out environmental problems induced by *** this study,blasting vibration signals were measured during underground excavation in carbonaceous shale by using vibration pickup CB-30 and FFT analyzer ***,wavelet analysis on the measured results was carried out to identify frequency bands reflecting changes of blasting vibration parameters such as vibration velocity and energy in different frequency *** characteristics are then discussed in view of blast source distance and charge weight per *** analysis of results,it can be found that peak velocity and energy of blasting vibration in frequency band of 62.5–125 Hz were larger than ones in other bands,indicating the similarity to characteristics in the distribution band(31–130 Hz)of main vibration *** frequency bands were affected by blasting source distance,and the frequency band of 0–62.5 Hz reflected the change of charge weight per *** presenting a simplified method to predict main vibration frequency,this research may provide significant reference for future blasting engineering.

Accelerated precipitation behavior of cast Mg-Al-Zn alloy by grain refinement

This study demonstrates that the precipitation behavior of 13-Mg17Al12 phase during aging and the resultant variation in hardness and mechanical properties of cast Mg-Al-Zn alloy are strongly dependent on initial grain size. Grain size reduction accelerates discontinuous precipitation at the early stage of aging treatment by increasing the area fraction of grain boundaries that can act as nucleation sites for discontinuous precipitates （DP）, but it does not influence DP growth rate. Grain refinement also prematurely terminates continuous precipitation because the formation of a large number of DP reduces the amount of AI dissolved in the matrix, which is required for the formation of continuous precipitates （CP）. This promotion of DP formation and early termination of CP formation significantly decrease the peak-aging time to one-third. The enhanced precipitation behavior also leads to an additional hardness improvement in the aged alloy, along with an increase in hardness owing to grain boundary strengthening by grain refinement. The amount of increase in hardness changes with aging time, which is determined by the variation of three variables with aging time： DP fraction difference between refined and nonrefined alloys, hardness difference between DP and matrix, and matrix hardness difference between the two alloys. Grain refinement improves both tensile strength and ductility of the homogenized alloy owing to grain boundary strengthening and suppression of twinning activation, respectively. However, the loss of ductility after peak-aging treatment is greater in the refined alloy because of the larger amount of DP acting as a crack source in this alloy.
