Through hundreds of millions of evolution,animals and plants have possessed their unique structures to adapt to natural variations.As a familiar process,liquid transportation plays an important part in both production and life,and researchers focus on how to achieve this process in a convenient and efficient way without energy input.Inspired by nature,various bioinspired structures are reported and have won multiple achievements.This review starts from basic theory about surface wettability,and then summarises the creatures with special liquid transport functions as well as crucial structures that cause this phenomenon.Next,the recent articles about transporting liquid by bioinspired materials are introduced.Finally,we proposed a brief conclusion and the prospect of bionic materials in the future.

Immune escape mechanisms in non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC)can disrupt every step of the anti-cancer immune response.In recent years,an increased understanding of the specific mechanisms fueling immune escape has allowed for the development of numerous immunotherapeutic treatments that have been introduced into the clinical practice.The advent of immunotherapy has dramatically changed the current treatment landscape of advanced or metastatic NSCLC because of its durable efficacy and manageable toxicity.In this review,we will first present a brief overview of recent evidence on immune escape mechanisms in NSCLC.We will then discuss the current promising immunotherapeutic strategies in advanced or metastatic NSCLC tumors.

Spin liquids are exotic materials where the magnetic order is absent due to fluctuations at any finite temperature less than the spin interaction.Their occurrence is attributed to a high degree of ground state degeneracy.Wannier showed in 1950 that such a large degeneracy of ground state can theoretically take place in a two-dimensional(2D)triangular lattice with Ising spins,a classically geometrical frustrated lattice mode.So far,the geometrically frustrated lattice has a large family of systems:edge-shared triangles as a triangular lattice and corner-shared triangles as a kagomélattice in a 2D system and corner-sharing tetrahedra as a pyrochlore lattice in a three-dimensional system,etc.

This article proposes a 35D form index system to quantitatively describe the 3D form of urban blocks.Utilizing the T-distributed stochastic neighbor(TSNE)embedding algorithm for cluster analysis,the visually complex and disordered urban 3D texture is translated into distinct form clusters,enabling the recognition of the overall urban form structure from the block perspective.The research methodology includes experiments conducted in the central area of Nanjing and comparative analysis in three neighboring cities:Shanghai,Hangzhou,and Suzhou.Results demonstrate the efficacy of form parameters and cluster analysis in achieving sound recognition.The four cities differ remarkably in the number and distribution structure of clusters.Shanghai has the fewest types of clusters with a compact distribution,Suzhou has the most types with a dispersed distribution,and Hangzhou and Nanjing exhibit similar characteristics,located between Shanghai and Suzhou.Correlation analysis reveals a negative relationship between the number of cluster types and the level of urban socioeconomic development in similar areas.This research implies that governments and urban planners can exploit neighborhood morphological types to devise customized spatial management and renewal strategies.The overall urban structure can be improved by strategically minimizing the quantity and distribution of neighborhood morphological types,fostering socioeconomic development.

In the twin-roll strip casting process,molten steel solidifies by losing heat through its interface with the casting rollers.The heat extraction along this interface has an effect on the quality of the strips and should be affected by coating,rolls’material,and cooling water flow rate.It is necessary to understand the effect of these casting parameters on the solidification structure of twin-roll strip casting.A three-dimensional computational domain is set up to simulate the solidification process of molten steel and heat exchange between steel strip/air,coating,rolls,and cooling water in the channel of roll sleeves.The effect of the cooling water intensity and flow intensity of molten steel in the pool on the solidification structures is studied during the thermal cycle of rolls in the twin-roll strip casting.These predicted results are helpful to optimize casting parameters and improve the strip quality in the twin-roll strip casting process.

Gut microbial profiles and the role in lipid metabolism in Shaziling pigs

Shaziling pig,a Chinese indigenous breed,has been classified as a fatty pig model.However,the gut microbial development and role in lipid metabolism in Shaziling pigs has been rarely reported.Here,we compared the lipid metabolic and microbial profiles at 30,60,90,150,210,and 300 d of age between Shaziling and Yorkshire pigs.Predictably,there were marked differences in the liver lipids(i.e.,cholesterol,glucose,and low-density lipoprotein)and the lipid related expressions(i.e.,SREBP1/2,LXRa/b,DGAT1/2,and FABP1-3)between Shaziling and Yorkshire pigs.Bacteria sequencing in the ileal digesta and mucosa showed that Shaziling pigs had a higher a-diversity and higher abundances of probiotics,such as Lactobacillus johnsonii,Lactobacillus amylovorus,and Clostridium butyricum.Thirty-five differentiated metabolites were further identified in the mucosa between Shaziling and Yorkshire pigs,which were enriched in the carbohydrate,protein,glucose and amino acid metabolism and bile acid biosynthesis.Furthermore,7 differentiated microbial species were markedly correlated with metabolites,indicating the role of gut microbiota in the host metabolism.Next,the role of differentiated L.johnsonii in lipid metabolism was validated in Duroc×Landrace×Yorkshire(DLY)pigs and the results showed that L.johnsonii mono-colonization promoted lipid deposition and metabolism by altering gut microbiota(i.e.,Megasphaera elsdenii and L.johnsonii)and DGAT1/DGAT2/CD36-PPARg gene expressions.In conclusion,Shaziling pigs exhibited different metabolic and microbial profiles compared with Yorkshire pigs,which might have contributed to the diverse metabolic phenotypes,and the significant enrichment of L.johnsonii in Shaziling pigs promoted lipid metabolism and obesity of DLY pigs,which provided a novel idea to improve the fat content of lean pigs.

The gut microbiota consistently shows strong correlations with lipid metabolism in humans and animals,and whether the gut microbiota contributes to muscle fatty acid(FA)deposition and meat traits in farm animals has not been fully resolved.In this study,we aimed to unveil the microbial mechanisms underlying muscle FA deposition in pigs.First,we systematically revealed the correlation between the gut microbiome and muscle FA levels in 43 obese Ningxiang pigs and 50 lean Duroc Landrace Yorkshire(DLY)pigs.Mutual fecal microbial transplantation showed that the obese Ningxiang pig-derived microbiota increased the muscle FA content and improved meat quality by reshaping the gut microbial composition in lean DLY pigs.Lactobacillus reuteri has been identified as a potential microbial biomarker in obese Ningxiang pig-derived microbiota-challenged DLY pigs.A gavage experiment using lean DLY pigs confirmed that L.reuteri XL0930 isolated from obese Ningxiang pigs was the causal species that increased the muscle FA content.Mechanistically,SLC22A5,a carnitine transporter,was downregulated in L.reuteri XL0930-fed DLY pigs,resulting in reduced muscle carnitine levels.Muscle and intestinal L-carnitine levels,which correlated with the muscle FA content,impeded fat synthesis and FA accumulation in in vitro and in vivo models.In conclusion,we uncovered an unexpected and important role of the obese Ningxiang pig-derived microbiota in regulating muscle FA metabolism via the SLC22A5-mediated carnitine system.

Aharoni and Howard and,independently,Huang et al.(2012)proposed the following rainbow version of the Erd os matching conjecture:For positive integers n,k and m with n≥km,if each of the families F1,……,Fm⊆([n]k)has size more than max{(n k)−(n-m+1 k);(km-1 k)},then there exist pairwise disjoint subsets e1,……,em such that ei∈Fi for all i∈[m].We prove that there exists an absolute constant n0 such that this rainbow version holds for k=3 and n≥n_(0).We convert this rainbow matching problem to a matching problem on a special hypergraph H.We then combine several existing techniques on matchings in uniform hypergraphs:Find an absorbing matching M in H;use a randomization process of Alon et al.(2012)to find an almost regular subgraph of H−V(M);find an almost perfect matching in H−V(M).To complete the process,we also need to prove a new result on matchings in 3-uniform hypergraphs,which can be viewed as a stability version of a result of Luczak and Mieczkowska(2014)and might be of independent interest.
