A moist plume forms when the flue gas emitted from wet desulfurization equipment exits into the ambi- ent air, resulting in a waste of water resources and visual pollution. In addition, sulfur trioxide （SO3）, water with dissolved salts, and particles in the wet flue gas form secondary pollution in the surrounding atmosphere. In this study, a deep purification technology for flue gas involving phase-transition agglom- eration and dehumidification （PAD） is proposed. This deep purification technology includes two technical routes： the integrated technology of phase-transition agglomeration and a wet electrostatic precipitator （PAW）; and the integrated technology of phase-transition agglomeration and a mist eliminator （PAM）. Industrial applications of PAW and PAM were carried out on 630 and 1000 MW coal-fired units, respectively. The results show that the average amount of recycled water obtained from wet flue gas by means of PAD is more than 4 g.（kg.℃）-1 Decreasing the wet flue gas temperature by 1.5-5.3 ℃ allows 5%-20% of the moisture in the flue gas to be recycled; therefore, this process could effectively save water resources and significantly reduce water vapor emissions. In addition, the moist plume is effectively elim- inated. With the use of this process, the ion concentration in droplets of flue gas is decreased by more than 65%, the SO3 removal efficiency from flue gas is greater than 75%, and the removal efficiency of par- ticulate matter is 92.53%.

BACKGROUND： Although experimental studies have utilized high-frequency stimulation in animal models, few reports have focused on long-term subthalamic nucleus deep brain stimulation （STN DBS） in Parkinson＇s disease （PD） animal models. OBJECTIVE： The present study simulated long-term DBS system and utilized microdialysis technology to study the influence of STN DBS on levels of extracellular dopamine （DA） and its metabolites, homovanillic acid （HVA） and dihydroxy phenyl acetic acid, in the corpus striatum of a hemiparkinsonian monkey model. DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING： A controlled animal study was performed at the Neurosurgery Laboratory, Changhai Hospital of the Second Military Medical University of Chinese PLA between January 2004 and December 2007. MATERIALS： 1-methy-4-phenyl-1, 2, 3, 6-tetrahydropyrindinewas （MPTP） purchased from Sigma, USA. Type-3389 DBS electrode and type-7246 pulse generator were provided by Medtronic, USA. METHODS： Hemiparkinsonism was induced in 2 male, adult Rhesus Macaque monkeys through unilateral internal carotid artery infusion of MPTP. Following model establishment, stimulation electrodes were implanted in the right STN, and chronic high-frequency stimulation （60 μs pulse width, 130 Hz frequency, and 1.5 2.0 V pressure） was performed. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES： Prior to, and 2 hours, 8 hours, 1 week, 1 month, and 2 months after DBS, samples were collected from the caudate nucleus and putamen using microdialysis technology Extracellular levels of DA and its metabolites were measured using high-performance liquid chromatography and electrochemical detection （HPLC-ECD） methods. RESULTS： At 8 hours, 1 week, 1 month, and 2 months after DBS, DA levels in the putamen and caudate nucleus were increased on the electrode-implanted side by 39%, 91%, 111%, and 114% and 31%, 91%, 106%, and 102%, respectively. The DA turnover rate （HVA/DA） was increased in the putamen and caudate nucleus by 186% and 91%, respectively, at 8 hours after DBS, while there was

Mineralization and Ore-controlling Implications of Low-angle Faults

Abstract Low-angle faults include those occurring in thrust-nappe structures in a compressive setting and the detachment of metamorphic core complexes in an extensional setting. All low-angle faults have their own particularities. The low-angle fault plays an important role in controlling over some endogenetic metallic ore deposits. Based on studies of the Xiaoban gold deposit, Xinzhou gold deposit, and Longfengchang polymetallic ore deposit, and comparisons with other mines, the authors conclude the ore-controlling implications of low-angle faults as follows. (1) Because of high temperature and high pressure, as well as strong ductile deformation, the internal energy of the elements rises in the large-scale deep ductile low-angle faults, which causes the elements to activate and differentiate from the source rocks, forming ore-bearing hydrothermal solution, and bring mineralization to happen. (2) When rising from depths and flowing along the low-angle faults, the ore-bearing hydrothermal solution will alter and replace the tectonites in the fault zone. The rocks of the hanging side and the heading side differ in lithology, texture and structure, which results in changes or dissimilarities of the physical-chemical conditions. This destroys the balance of the hydrothermal solution system and causes the dissolved ore-forming elements to precipitate; as a result, a deposit is formed. Therefore, the meso-shallow ductile-brittle low-angle faults play the role of a geochemical interface in the process of mineralization. (3) Low-angle faults are often one of the important host structures.

Objective The present study aimed to evaluate the accuracy of the factorial method for estimating energy needs in individuals living in *** Sixteen healthy female adults aged 22.1±1.2 years with a body mass index （kg/m 2） of 20.4±1.7 were selected as *** free-living conditions,energy expenditure （EE） was determined by using the factorial *** the same time,the doubly labeled water method （DLW） was also used to measure energy expenditure of the subjects and served as the criterion *** predicted by the factorial method （EE factorial） was compared with the simultaneous measurement of EE by the validated DLW method （EE DLW）.Results There was excellent agreement between EE factorial （7.46±0.59 MJ/d） and EE DLW （7.64 ± 0.49 MJ/d）,with a difference of-2.6±4.9% （-0.18±0.36 MJ/d）.No significant differences were found between the two *** factorial was highly correlated with EE DLW （r=0.795,P0.001） and a good agreement for individuals was found by using the Bland and Altman *** The factorial method gives satisfactory estimates of EE for both groups and individuals living in China.

Petrogenetic contrastive studies on the Mesozoic early stage ore-bearing and late stage ore-barren granites from the southern Anhui Province

Yanshanian magmatisms are intensive in the southern Anhui Province and can be divided into early （152-137 Ma） and late （136-122 Ma） stages. A Yanshanian granitic zone was found to crop out along Qingshan to Changgai areas in the Ttmxi district in Field investigation which has a genetic link with molybdenum multiple metal mineralization. To be a representative syenitic granite in the southern Anhui Province, the Huangshan pluton has not been found so far to have any genetic link with mineralization. Zircon LA-ICP-MS dating indicate that the four granitic bodies from the Qingshan-Changgai zone have concurrent formed ages from 140~：4 to 141~2 Ma, belonging to the Yanshanian early stage magmatism. However, the Huangshan granite is dated to be 12912 Ma, belonging to the Yanshanian late stage magmatism. The Qingshan-Changgai granites show high SiO2 and K20 contents, low P205 contents and middle A12O3 contents and are high-K calc-alkaline series metaluminum I-type granite. These rocks are characterized by enrichments in the large ion lithophile elements and light rare earth elements （REE）, depletions in the high field-strength elements, and middle degree negative anomalies of Eu, geochemical features of arc or continent crustal derived magma affinities. These rocks have 87Sr/StSr（t） ratios from 0.7120 to 0.7125,εNd（t） values from -7.24 to -4.38 and zircon εHf（t） values of -4.4 to 6.7, similar to that of the coeval ore-bearing granodiorites in the southern Anhui Province. Integrated geochemical studies indicate that the Yanshanian ore-bearing granodiorites were formed by partial melting of the Meso-Neoproterozoic accreted thickened low crust. Meanwhile, the Qingshan-Changgai granites were formed through a AFC process of plagioclase＋amphibole＋Shangxi Group of magmas that formed the ore-bearing granodiorites. Synthesis of CeO2 nanosheets with a room temperature ionic liquid assisted method

CeO2 nanosheets were directly synthesized by a precipitation process with the aid of 1-butyl-3-methyl-imidazolium ionic liquids at room temperature. The anion species and the concentration of the room temperature ionic liquids (RTILs) have a great influence on the morphology of the resulting products. The as-prepared CeO2 is irregular and agglomerated seriously in the absence of RTILs, while it changes from nanocube to nanosheet with increasing the RTIL concentration or decreasing the polarity and hydrophilicity in the orders [Bmim] Cl > [Bmim] Br > [Bmim] BF4 > [Bmim] PF6. The CeO2 nanocubes have relatively uniform grain size distribution with size of 4.5-6.4 nm, and the nanosheets are assembled by a great deal of nanocrystalline whose length and width extend to hundreds of nanometers. The as-synthesized CeO2 exhibits an excellent removal capacity for the organic pollutant Congo red dye, indicating its potential use in practical wastewater treatment.

Suppressive effect of dexamethasone on the neutrophil expression of CD18 in rats with radiation induced brain edema

BACKGROUND： Stereo-tactic radiation therapy （SRT） is widely used to treat intracranial diseases, but some patients suffered from radiation induced brain edema after SRT. Once radiation induced brain edema occurs, the treatment is quite difficult, and it always leads to a poor outcome. Dexamethasone has certain therapeutic effect on traumatic brain edema, but the biological mechanism is still unclear. OBJECTIVE ： To observe the effect of dexamethasone on the neutrophil expression of CD18.DESIGN ： A randomized control observation.SETTING： Changhai Hospital of the Second Military Medical University of Chinese PLA. MATERIALS ： The experiment was carried out in Changhai Hospital of the Second Military Medical University of Chinese PLA from January 1999 to December 1999. Twenty SD rats （male and female each in half） weighing （250±50） g were used. METHODS： Twenty SD rats were divided into four groups at random. ① Blank control group （n=5）： The rats were not treated without dexamethasone or irradiation;② Irradiation group （n=5）： The rats were given irradiation but no dexamethasone treatment; ③ Irradiation＋1 mg/kg dexamethasone group （n=5）; The rats were treated with irradiation and dexamethasone of 1 mg/kg; ④Irradiation＋5 mg/kg dexamethasone group （n=5）： The rats were treated with irradiation and dexamethasone of 5 mg/kg. The heads of the rats were irradiated with 10 MeV X-ray （30 Gy）, and brain tissue was removed after 2 weeks to observe the pathological changes. Blood samples were taken from the carotid artery, gradient centrifugation was used, and neutrophile layer was obtained, the level of neutrophile expression of CD18 mRNA and quantity of membrane proteins in blood were detected with Northern blot and flow cytometry respectively. In this study, 23 asymmetrical Parkinson＇s disease patients were treated with unilateral deep brain stimulation of the subthalamic nucleus and followed up for 5 years. At 5 years after stimulation treatment, Unified Parkinson＇s Disease Rating Scale II, III and axial symptom scores in the off-drug condition were significantly increased compared those at baseline. However, total Unified Parkinson＇s Disease Rating Scale II, III and axial symptom scores were significantly lower with stimulation-on compared with the synchronous stimulation-off state in off-drug condition, and the motor symptoms of contralateral side limbs were effectively controlled. Only low Hoehn-Yahr stage was correlated with good long-term postoperative improvement in motor symptoms. The mean levodopa-equivalent daily dose after stimulation treatment was significantly lower than that before treatment, but dyskinesias became worse. Our experimental findings indicate that unilateral deep brain stimulation of the subthalamic nucleus is an effective treatment for improving motor symptoms in well selected asymmetrical Parkinson＇s disease patients presenting no severe axial symptoms and dyskinesias.

The simultaneous control of crystal phase stability and one-dimensional growth has always been the major challenge for the preparation of tetragonal zirconia *** this study,we report a facile molten salt processing that utilizes CaF_(2) as a stabilizer and adsorbent to meet the phase and morphology *** processes of stabilization,phase transition,ion adsorption and formation of special morphology involved in zirconia growth were investigated by XRD,IR,SEM,DTA-TG and *** controlling the amount of CaF_(2)(15 wt%)added in the reaction precursor,tetragonal zirconia whiskers with a desired aspect ratio(>16)can be synthesized,which show single crystalline nature and[001]preferred *** ions doped at low temperature inhibit the occurrence of phase transition,which allows the tetragonal structure to be retained to room *** inducement and pattern of whisker growth are supposed to be F-adsorption and screw dislocation elongation,*** specific selectivity of surface adsorbed ions to certain zirconia crystal planes reduces or even inhibits the epitaxial growth rate in this direction,offering a viable avenue for the morphology modulation of inorganic nanomaterials.

Astrocytes are the most abundant glial cells in the central nervous system;they participate in crucial biological processes,maintain brain structure,and regulate nervous system *** are cell-derived extracellular vesicles containing various bioactive molecules including proteins,peptides,nucleotides,and lipids secreted from their cellular *** evidence shows that exosomes participate in a communication network in the nervous system,in which astrocyte-derived exosomes play important *** this review,we have summarized the effects of exosomes targeting astrocytes and the astrocyte-derived exosomes targeting other cell types in the central nervous *** also discuss the potential research directions of the exosome-based communication network in the nervous *** exosome-based intercellular communication focused on astrocytes is of great significance to the biological and/or pathological processes in different conditions in the *** strategies may be developed for the diagnosis and treatment of neurological disorders by focusing on astrocytes as the central cells and utilizing exosomes as communication mediators.
