Clinical application of free/total PSA ratio in the diagnosis of prostate cancer in men over 50 years of age with total PSA levels of 2.0-25.0 ng ml^(−1) in Western China

The goal of this study was to investigate the clinical application of free/total prostate-specific antigen(F/T PSA)ratio,considering the new broad serum total PSA(T-PSA)“gray zone”of 2.0–25.0 ng ml^(−1)in differential diagnosis of prostate cancer(PCa)and benign prostate diseases(BPD)in men over 50 years in Western China.A total of 1655 patients were included,528 with PCa and 1127 with *** T-PSA,free PSA(F-PSA),and F/T PSA ratio were *** operating characteristic curves were used to assess the efficiency of PSA and F/T PSA *** were 47.4%of cancer patients with T-PSA of 2.0–25.0 ng ml^(−1).When T-PSA was 2.0–4.0 ng ml^(−1),4.0–10.0 ng ml^(−1),and 10.0–25.0 ng ml^(−1),the area under the curve(AUC)of F/T PSA ratio was 0.749,0.769,and 0.761,*** best AUC of F/T PSA ratio was 0.811 when T-PSA was 2.0–25.0 ng ml^(−1),with a specificity of 0.732,a sensitivity of 0.788,and an optimal cutoff value of 15.5%.The AUC of F/T PSA ratio in different age groups(50–59 years,60–69 years,70–79 years,and≥80 years)was 0.767,0.806,0.815,and 0.833,respectively,and the best sensitivity(0.857)and specificity(0.802)were observed in patients over 80 *** T-PSA trend was in accordance with the Gleason score,tumor node metastasis(TNM)stage,and American Joint Committee on Cancer prognosis ***,the F/T PSA ratio can facilitate the differential diagnosis of PCa and BPD in the broad T-PSA“gray zone”.Serum T-PSA can be a Gleason score and prognostic indicator.

A strategy to synthesize phosphorus-containing nickel phyllosilicate whiskers to enhance the flame retardancy of epoxy composites with excellent mechanical and dry-friction properties

To enhance the fire safety and wear resistance of epoxy,phosphorus-containing nickel phyllosilicate whiskers(FP-NiPS)were synthesized using a facile hydrothermal technology,with 9,10-dihydro-9-oxa-10-phosphaphenanthrene as the organic *** impacts of FP-NiPS on the thermal stability,flame retardancy,and mechanical and tribological properties of EP composites were *** findings demonstrated that 5 wt%FP-NiPS elevated the limiting oxygen index of the EP composite from 23.8%to 28.4%,achieving a V-0 rating during vertical burning ***-NiPS could enhance the thermal stability of epoxy resin(EP)and facilitate the development of a dense and continuous carbon layer,thereby significantly improving the fire safety of the EP *** FP-NiPS led to an 8.2%increase in the tensile strength and a 38.8%increase in the elastic modulus of the EP composite,showing outstanding mechanical ***,FP-NiPS showed remarkable potential in enhancing the wear resistance of *** wear rate of 1 wt%FP-NiPS is 2.34×10^(−5) mm^(3)·N^(−1)·m^(−1),a decrease of 66.7%compared to *** work provides a novel promising modification method to enhance the fire safety,mechanical and wear resistance properties of EP.

Nanoparticles anchored on the perovskite surface have gained considerable attention for their wide-ranging applications in heterogeneous catalysis and energy conversion due to their robust and integrated structural ***,we employ controlled Co doping to effectively enhance the nanoparticle exsolution process in layered perovskite ferrites *** alloy nanoparticles with ultra-high-density are exsolved on the(PrBa)_(0.95)(Fe_(0.8)Co_(0.1)Nb_(0.1))2O_(5+δ)(PBFCN_(0.1))surface under reducing atmosphere,providing significant amounts of reaction sites and good durability for hydrocarbon *** a reducing atmosphere,cobalt facilitates the reduction of iron cations within PBFCN_(0.1),leading to the formation of CoFe alloy *** formation is accompanied by a cation exchange process,wherein,with the increase in temperature,partial cobalt ions are substituted by ***,Co doping significantly enhance the electrical conductivity due to the stronger covalency of the Cosingle bondO bond compared with Fesingle bondO bond.A single cell with the configuration of PBFCN_(0.1)-Sm_(0.2)Ce_(0.8)O_(1.9)(SDC)|SDC|Ba_(0.5)Sr_(0.5)Co_(0.8)Fe_(0.2)O_(3−δ)(BSCF)-SDC achieves an extremely low polarization resistance of 0.0163Ωcm^(2)and a high peak power density of 740 mW cm^(−2)at 800℃.The cell also shows stable operation for 120 h in H_(2)with a constant current density of 285 mA cm^(−2).Furthermore,employing wet C_(2)H_(6)as fuel,the cell demonstrates remarkable performance,achieving peak power densities of 455 mW cm^(−2)at 800℃and 320 mW cm^(−2)at 750℃,marking improvements of 36%and 70%over the cell with(PrBa)_(0.95)(Fe_(0.9)Nb_(0.1))_(2)O_(5+δ)(PBFN)-SDC at these respective *** discovery emphasizes how temperature influences alloy nanoparticles exsolution within doped layered perovskite ferrites materials,paving the way for the development of high-performance ceramic fuel cell anodes.

Environmental benefits and farmers' adoption of winter cover crops in the North China Plain

The introduction of cover crops into monoculture systems to improve soil health has been widely adopted worldwide. However, little is known about the environmental risks and application prospects of different cover crops in spring maize(Zea mays L.) monocultures proposed in the North China Plain. A pot experiment was conducted to evaluate the effects of different winter cover crops on subsequent maize yield, soil fertility, and environmental risks of nitrogen(N) loss, and a questionnaire survey was conducted to examine factors influencing farmers' willingness to adopt cover crops in the North China Plain. Based on the same fertilization regime during the maize growing period, four winter cover crop treatments were set up, including bare fallow, hairy vetch(Vicia villosa Roth.), February orchid(Orychophragmus violaceus), and winter oilseed rape(Brassica campestris L.). The results indicated that winter cover crops significantly increased subsequent maize yield and soil organic carbon, total N, and microbial biomass carbon and N compared with the bare fallow *** incorporation of cover crops led to a negligible increase in nitrous oxide(N_(2)O) emissions and had a very limited effect on ammonia(NH_(3)) *** incorporation of February orchid and winter oilseed rape decreased nitrate leaching compared with the hairy vetch treatment in the maize growing *** N losses via N_(2)O and NH_(3) emissions and N leaching accounted for 71%–84% of the N surplus. However, yield increase and environmental benefits were not the main positive factors for farmers to accept cover crops. Financial incentive was rated by 83.9% of farmers as an “extremely important” factor, followed by other costs, when considering winter cover cropping. These results indicate that the environmental benefits depend on the type of cover crop. Maintaining high levels of soil fertility and maize yield, providing sufficient subsidies, and encouraging large-area cultivation of cover crops

Development of metal-organic framework(MOF)films is of great importance to expand their ***,we report a facile and universal method of liquid-phase epitaxial(LPE)layer by layer(LBL)brushing approach for fabricating MOF films on various substrates in a high-throughput *** MOF films preparation method offers a great prospective to cost-effectively construct films with short preparation time and little reagent ***,this LBL brushing approach has been implemented successfully to assemble various MOF films,including HKUST-1,zeolitic imidazolate framework-8(ZIF-8),Cu(bdc),and Cu_(2)(L)_(2)P(L=bdc,ndc,and cam;P=dabco and bipy).Afterwards,the classic MOF HKUST-1 and ZIF-8 films were grown on sensor chip electrode and porous fiber support for good volatile organic compounds(VOCs)selective sensing and water purification *** study demonstrates that this LBL brushing preparation method can be employed to synthesize various MOF films with a variety of characteristics to realize their sensing and separation applications.

TextFormer: A Query-based End-to-end Text Spotter with Mixed Supervision

End-to-end text spotting is a vital computer vision task that aims to integrate scene text detection and recognition into a unified *** methods heavily rely on region-of-interest(Rol)operations to extract local features and complex post-processing steps to produce final *** address these limitations,we propose TextFormer,a query-based end-to-end text spotter with a transformer ***,using query embedding per text instance,TextFormer builds upon an image encoder and a text decoder to learn a joint semantic understanding for multitask *** allows for mutual training and optimization of classification,segmentation and recognition branches,resulting in deeper feature sharing without sacrificing flexibility or ***,we design an adaptive global aggregation(AGG)module to transfer global features into sequential features for reading arbitrarilyshaped texts,which overcomes the suboptimization problem of Rol ***,potential corpus information is utilized from weak annotations to full labels through mixed supervision,further improving text detection and end-to-end text spotting *** experiments on various bilingual(i.e.,English and Chinese)benchmarks demonstrate the superiority of our *** on the TDA-ReCTS dataset,TextFormer surpasses the state-of-the-art method in terms of 1-NED by 13.2%.

Dear Editor,This letter proposes a fuzzy indirect iterative learning(FIIL)active disturbance rejection control(ADRC)scheme to address the impact of uncertain factors of plant-protection unmanned ground vehicle(UGV),in which ADRC is a data-driven model-free control algorithm that only relies on the input and output data of the *** on the established nonlinear time-varying dynamic model including dynamic load(medicine box),the FIIL technology is adopted to turn the bandwidth and control channel gain online,in which the fuzzy logic system is used to update the gain parameters of iterative learning in real *** and experiment show the FIIL-ADRC scheme has better control performance.

Pd/N-doped carbon dots@dendritic mesoporous silica nanospheres:A highly efficient catalyst for the hydrogenation of 4-nitrophenol

Highly dispersed Pd/N-doped carbon dots(Pd/NCDs)were successfully immobilized in the mesoporous channels of amino-functionalized dendritic mesoporous silica nanospheres(NMS).The synthesized Pd/NCDs@NMS catalyst exhibits outstanding performance in the catalytic reduction of 4-nitrophenol(4-NP),achieving a turnover frequency of 1461.8 mol·molPd^(-1)·h^(-1),with the conversion rate remaining above 80%after 11 *** and density functional theory calculations reveal that the NCDs significantly affect the electronic structure of Pd nanoparticles,leading to changes in the energy barriers for the adsorption of 4-NP at the Pd sites and the conversion of 4-NP reaction intermediates,which is a key factor contributing to the catalytic *** study offers a new strategy for synthesizing carbon-dot-modified metal-based catalysts.

Reorientation and obstacle avoidance control of free-floating modular robots using sinusoidal oscillator
