OBJECTIVES Stress-related glycemic indicators,including admission blood glucose(ABG),stress-hyperglycemia ratio(SHR),and glycemic gap(GG),have been associated with worse outcomes after acute myocardial infarction(AMI).However,data regarding their prognostic value in the oldest old with AMI are ***,this study aimed to investigate the association of stress-related glycemic indicators with short-and long-term cardiovascular mortality(CVM)in the oldest old(≥80 years)with *** In this prospective study,a total of 933 consecutive old patients with AMI admitted to FuWai hospital(Beijing,China)were *** admission,ABG,SHR,and GG were assessed and all participants were classified according to their ***-Meier,restricted cubic splines(RCS),and multivariate Cox regression analyses were performed to evaluate the association between these glycemic indicators and CVM within 30 days and long-term *** During an average of 1954 patient-years of follow-up,a total of 250 cardiovascular deaths were ***-Meier analyses showed the lowest CVM in quartile 1 of ABG and in quartile 2 of SHR and *** adjusting for potential covariates,patients in quartile 4 of ABG,SHR,and GG had a respective 1.67-fold(95%CI:1.03-2.69;P=0.036),1.80-fold(95%CI:1.16-2.79;P=0.009),and 1.78-fold(95%CI:1.14-2.79;P=0.011)higher risk of long-term CVM risk compared to those in the reference groups(quartile 1 of ABG and quartile 2 of SHR and GG).Furthermore,RCS suggested a J-shaped relationship of ABG and a Ushaped association of SHR and GG with long-term ***,we observed similar associations of these acute glycemic parameters with 30-day *** Our data first indicated that SHR and GG consistently had a U-shaped association with both 30-day and longterm CVM among the oldest old with AMI,suggesting that they may be useful for risk stratification in this special population.

Based on the Wallerian degeneration in the spinal cord pathways,the changes in synaptic connections,and the spinal cord-related cellular responses that alter the cellular structure of the brain,we presumed that brain diffusion tensor imaging(DTI)parameters may change after spinal cord ***,the dynamic changes in DTI parameters remain *** established a Beagle dog model of T10 spinal cord contusion and performed DTI of the injured spinal *** found dynamic changes in DTI parameters in the cerebral peduncle,posterior limb of the internal capsule,pre-and postcentral gyri of the brain within 12 weeks after spinal cord *** then performed immunohistochemistry to detect the expression of neurofilament heavy polypeptide(axonal marker),glial fibrillary acidic protein(glial cell marker),and NeuN(neuronal marker).We found that these pathological changes were consistent with DTI parameter *** findings suggest that DTI can display brain structure changes after spinal cord injury.

The final mechanical properties of components greatly depend on their grain size. It is necessary to study the grain evolution during different thermomechanical processes. In the study, the real-time austenite grain evolution of a high-strength low-alloy(HSLA) steel during the soaking process is investigated by in situ experiments. The effects of different deformation parameters on the dynamic recrystallization(DRX) kinetic behaviors are investigated by hot compression experiments. Based on the observations and statistics of the microstructures at different thermomechanical processes, a unified grain size model is established to evaluate the effects of soaking parameters and deformation parameters on the austenite grain evolution. Also, the DRX kinetic model and critical strain model are established, which can describe the effects of the soaking process on the DRX kinetics process well. The established grain size model and DRX kinetic model are compiled into the numerical simulation software using Fortran language. The austenite grain evolution of the material under different deformation conditions is simulated, which is consistent with the experimental results. It indicates that the established model is reliable, and can be used to simulate and predict the grain size during different thermomechanical processes accurately.

High-strength β titanium alloys represented by near β titanium alloy and metastable β titanium alloy are preferred materials for large-scale load-carrying *** order to achieve the precise regulation of microstructure in the deformation process, massive efforts have been made to study the flow behavior and microstructure evolution of βtitanium alloy in the hot deformation process. This paper reviews the flow behavior of high-strength titanium alloy,including the effects of initial microstructure, deformation process parameters, work hardening, and dynamic softening on flow stress. Furthermore, the effects of deformation process parameters on the apparent activation energy for deformation and strain rate sensitivity coefficient are analyzed. The discontinuous yield phenomenon is discussed,and the constitutive models of flow stress are ***, some microstructural evolution models are reviewed. Finally, the development direction and difficulties of the flow behavior and constitutive model are pointed out.

Spinal cord injury is a severe and devastating disease,and spasticity is a common and severe complication that is notoriously refractory to ***,the pathophysiological mechanisms underlying spasticity and its development remain largely *** goal of the present study was to find differences,if any,in metabolites of the left precentral gyrus and basal ganglia of patients who have spinal cord injury with or without spasticity,and to explore the relationship between the brain metabolite concentrations and clinical ***-six participants were recruited for magnetic resonance spectroscopic examination:23 with spinal cord injury(12 with spasticity and 11 without spasticity)and 13 healthy *** acquired localized proton spectra from the precentral gyrus and basal ganglia via 10 mm^(3) ***,univariate linear regression analysis demonstrated that the lower that the N-acetylaspartate concentration(a marker for neuronal loss)was in the precentral gyrus of the patients,the lower their ASIA(American Spinal Injury Association)light-touch scores,pinprick scores,and motor ***,longer durations of injury were associated with higher N-acetylaspartate levels in the precentral *** with the healthy participants and patients without spasticity,N-acetylaspartate levels in the patients with spasticity were significantly lower in both the precentral gyrus and basal *** N-acetylaspartate levels also correlated with greater sensory and motor dysfunction in the patients who had spinal cord injury with spasticity.

Inclusions modification by rare earth in steel and the resulting properties: A review

Rare earth(RE) elements are excellent modifiers for non-metallic inclusions that inevitably appear in steel and affect steel properties. This paper reviews the research status of inclusions modification by RE elements and the changes it cause on steel properties. First, the inclusion changes caused by RE modification are described. Generally, after adding pure RE, the main evolution of inclusions occurs as M →M + RE-Al-O → RE-Al-O + RE_(2)O_(2)S → RE_(2)O_(2)S + RE—S/RE_(2)O_(2)S + RE-O with an increase in the RE content(M represents the inclusions before RE addition). The type of final inclusion obtained after RE modification is related to the relative contents of S and O in the steel. Moreover, fine, regular, and uniformly distributed inclusions can be obtained with appropriate RE addition. However, the effectiveness of inclusions modification by adding both RE and non-RE elements is closely related to the order of their addition. Second, the applications and advantages of thermodynamic calculations in the study of RE-modified inclusions are introduced. Third, the changes in the corrosion resistance, impact properties,and other properties of steel caused by the modification of inclusions by RE are reviewed. Finally, the perspectives and trends of inclusions modified by RE elements in the steel industry are presented.

BaCe_(0.8)Fe_(0.1)Ni_(0.1)O_(3−δ)(BCFN)in a perovskite structure is impregnated consecutively by BCFN solution and BCFN suspension into a phase-inversion prepared NiO–Gd_(0.1)Ce_(0.9)O_(2−δ)(GDC)scaffold as an anode for solid oxide fuel cells(SOFCs)with on-cell dry reforming of methane(DRM).The whole pore surface of the scaffold is covered by small BCFN particles formed by BCFN solution impregnation;the large pores near the scaffold surface are filled by BCFN aerogels with a high specific surface area produced by BCFN suspension impregnation,which act as a catalytic layer for on-cell *** reduction,the anode consists of a Ni–GDC scaffold and BCFN particles with exsolved FeNi3 *** BCFN-impregnated Ni–GDC anode has higher electrical conductivity,electrochemical activity,and resistance to carbon deposition,with which the cell shows maximum power densities between 1.44 and 0.92 W·cm^(−2) when using H_(2) and between 1.09 and 0.50 W·cm^(−2) when using CO_(2)–CH_(4) at temperatures ranging from 750 to 600℃.A stable performance at 400 mA·cm^(−2) and 700℃is achieved using 45%CO_(2)–45%CH_(4)–10%N_(2) for more than 400 h without carbon deposition,benefiting from the impregnated BCFN aerogel with a high specific surface area and water adsorbability.
