Mauritanian iron ore powder(OM)has advantages of high iron grade,low aluminum content,and low loss on ignition,which can be used as a new mineral to replace low alumina limonite that has been exhausted in Australia.However,it will have a certain negative impact on sintering because of its high SiO_(2) content.The mechanism of SiO_(2) content affecting the sintering behavior was first studied through FactSage 7.2.Then,the liquid fluidity,penetration,and high-temperature performance of different iron ore powders were compared.Finally,the optimization of ore blending structure was studied by the micro-sintering method and the sinter pot test.The results show that the increase in SiO_(2) content can reduce the assimilation temperature.The low penetration of OM can lead to an increase in the amount of liquid,and the high SiO_(2) content of OM increases the viscosity of the liquid phase.What is more,the increase in SiO_(2) also increases the formation of silicate and fayalite phase and inhibits the formation of silico-ferrite of calcium and aluminum(SFCA).To optimize ore blending structure,OM and the low SiO_(2) powder OD from Australia were used together,which improves the content of SFCA by 2.04%and decreases the contents of calcium silicate and fayalite by 0.63%and 4.99%,respectively.The results of the sinter pot test indicated that the properties of sinter have been improved.

The grass carp(Ctenopharyngodon idella) is one of the most important cultivated fish species in China.Mounting evidences suggests that microRNAs(miRNAs) may be key regulators of skeletal muscle among the grass carp,but the knowledge of the identity of myogenic miRNAs and role of miRNAs during skeletal muscle anabolic state remains limited.In the present study,we choose 8 miRNAs previously reported to act as muscle growth-related miRNAs for fasting-refeeding research.We investigated postprandial changes in the expression of 8 miRNAs following a single satiating meal in grass carp juveniles who had been fasting for one week and found that 7 miRNAs were sharply up-regulated within 1 or 3 h after refeeding,suggesting that they may be promising candidate miRNAs involved in a fast-response signaling system that regulates fish skeletal muscle growth.

Citrin deficiency presenting as acute liver failure in an eight-month-old infant

Citrin deficiency typically presents as neonatal intrahepatic cholestasis and resolves in late infancy.Here we report a case of citrin deficiency that presented as acute liver failure in late infancy in an apparently healthy child. The full-term male infant weighed3400 g at birth, and exhibited normal development for eight months, at which time he contracted bronchial pneumonia. The infant developed jaundice and laboratory tests indicated elevated bilirubin and ammonia levels and an abnormal coagulation profile.Plasma amino acid analysis showed elevated levels of tyrosine, methionine, citrulline, and arginine. Citrin deficiency was suspected, and genomic DNA analysis revealed a mutation(IVS16ins3kb) in SLC25A13, which encodes a mitochondrial aspartate-glutamate carrier protein. The infant was immediately put on a lactosefree,medium-chain-triglyceride-enriched formula with ursodeoxycholic acid and lipid-soluble vitamins.However, cholestasis and abnormal laboratory indices persisted, and the infant died at the age of 11.5 mo,two days before a scheduled liver transplantation. This case demonstrates that citrin deficiency can present in late infancy as acute liver failure triggered by infection,and may require liver transplantation.

In this paper,a new electrolysis device was presented with corundum crucible as an electrolytic cell in place of a graphite crucible,and in the corundum crucible a sleeve with a cathode pellet with a fluted base placed flat in it was adopted to separate the cathode and anode.The process of electrochemical reduction of solid TiO_(2) to Ti in situ was studied and characterized by the time-current curves and X-ray diffraction(XRD) patterns of the electrochemical reduction products.The influence of CaCl_(2)doping in the cathode and the electrolysis device structures on electrochemical reduction mechanisms and the process strengthening was systematically studied.The results show that the oxygen content in the obtained Ti is reduced to0.51% with a cathode pellet sintering temperature of1000 ℃,sample preparation pressure of 20 MPa and CaCl_(2) doping amount of 30%.Tiny holes are formed in the cathode pellet by CaCl_(2) doping in the electrochemical reduction process,which could increase the contact area between the electrolyte and cathode and improve the electrode reaction efficiency.The new electrolysis device could reduce the carbon content in the molten salt,cathode polarization and the electrode reaction overvoltage,inhibit the chances of secondary reactions,increase the contact area between the produced Ca and cathode and strengthen the thermal reduction of TiO_(2) by Ca.

A 3D viscoelastic-plastic thermal-mechanical coupled finite element model was built on the basis of the secondary development of the commercial software MSC. Marc. Numerical simulations were performed to study slab broadening in the secondary cooling zone. The effects of slab width and thickness on slab broadening were considered. The obtained results reveal that the width broadening is noticeable, and the ratio of ultimate broadening slightly increases with the increase of slab width. This agrees well with the measured data in practice. There is no obvious increase in ultimate broadening when the thickness of slabs increases.

BACKGROUND Pediatric recurrent acute liver failure(RALF) with recovery between episodes is rare. Causes include autoimmune disease, which may flare and subside;intermittent exposure to toxins, as with ingestions; and metabolic disorders,among them the fever-associated crises ascribed to biallelic mutations in SCYL1,with RALF beginning in infancy. SCYL1 disease manifest with RALF, as known to date, includes central and peripheral neurologic and muscular morbidity(hepatocerebellar neuropathy syndrome). Primary ventilatory and skeletal diseases also have been noted in some reports.CASE SUMMARY We describe a Han Chinese boy in whom fever-associated RALF began at age 14 mo. Bilateral femoral head abnormalities and mild impairment of neurologic function were first noted aged 8 years 6 mo. Liver biopsy after the third RALF episode(7 years) and during resolution of the fourth RALF episode(8 years 6 mo) found abnormal architecture and hepatic fibrosis, respectively. Whole-exome sequencing revealed homozygosity for the novel frameshift mutation c.92_93 insGGGCCCT, p.(H32 Gfs~*20) in SCYL1(parental heterozygosity confirmed).CONCLUSION Our findings expand the mutational and clinical spectrum of SCYL1 disease. In our patient a substantial neurologic component was lacking and skeletal disease was identified relatively late.

Trimethylated histone H3 lysine 27(H3 K27 me3)is a repressive histone marker that regulates a variety of developmental processes,including those that determine flowering time.However,relatively little is known about the mechanism of how H3 K27 me3 is recognized to regulate transcription.Here,we identified BAH domain-containing transcriptional regulator 1(BDT1)as an H3 K27 me3 reader.BDT1 is responsible for preventing flowering by suppressing the expression of flowering genes.Mutation of the H3 K27 me3 recognition sites in the BAH domain disrupted the binding of BDT1 to H3 K27 me3,leading to de-repression of H3 K27 me3-enriched flowering genes and an earlyflowering phenotype.We also found that BDT1 interacts with a family of PHD finger-containing proteins,which we named PHD1–6,and with CPL2,a Pol II carboxyl terminal domain(CTD)phosphatase responsible for transcriptional repression.Pull-down assays showed that the PHD finger-containing proteins can enhance the binding of BDT1 to the H3 K27 me3 peptide.Mutations in all of the PHD genes caused increased expression of flowering genes and an earlyflowering phenotype.This study suggests that the binding of BDT1 to the H3 K27 me3 peptide,which is enhanced by PHD proteins,is critical for preventing early flowering.
