Residential Energy Consumption Forecasting Based on Federated Reinforcement Learning with Data Privacy Protection

Most studies have conducted experiments on predicting energy consumption by integrating data formodel ***, the process of centralizing data can cause problems of data ***,many laws and regulationson data security and privacy have been enacted, making it difficult to centralize data, which can lead to a datasilo problem. Thus, to train the model while maintaining user privacy, we adopt a federated learning ***, in all classical federated learning frameworks secure aggregation, the Federated Averaging (FedAvg)method is used to directly weight the model parameters on average, which may have an adverse effect on te ***, we propose the Federated Reinforcement Learning (FedRL) model, which consists of multiple userscollaboratively training the model. Each household trains a local model on local data. These local data neverleave the local area, and only the encrypted parameters are uploaded to the central server to participate in thesecure aggregation of the global model. We improve FedAvg by incorporating a Q-learning algorithm to assignweights to each locally uploaded local model. And the model has improved predictive performance. We validatethe performance of the FedRL model by testing it on a real-world dataset and compare the experimental results withother models. The performance of our proposed method in most of the evaluation metrics is improved comparedto both the centralized and distributed models.

Evaluating the Accuracy of ERA5 Wave Reanalysis in the Water Around China

Wave parameters, such as wave height and wave period, are important for human activities, such as navigation, ocean engineering and sediment transport, etc. In this study, wave data from six buoys around Chinese waters, are used to assess the quality of wave height and wave period in the ERA5 reanalysis of the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts. Annual hourly data with temporal resolution are used. The difference between the significant wave height(SWH) of ERA 5 and that of the buoy varies from-0.35 m to 0.30 m for the three shallow locations;for the three deep locations, the variation ranges from-0.09 m to 0.09 m. The ERA5 SWH data show positive biases, indicating an overall overestimation for all locations, except for E2 and S1 where underestimation is observed. During the tropical cyclone period, a large(about 32%) underestimation of the maximum SWH in the ERA5 data is observed. Hence, the ERA5 SWH data cannot be used for design applications without site-specific validation. The difference between the annual wave period from ERA5 and the mean wave period from the buoys varies from-1.31 s to 0.4 s. Inter-comparisons suggest that the ERA5 dataset is consistent with the annual mean SWH. However, for the average period, the performance is not good, and half of the correlation coefficients in the four points are less 50%. Overall, the deep water area simulation effect is better than that in the shallow water.

Immobilization and characterization of the Lactarius deliciosus mycelia-embedded polylysine-alginate beads and their decolorization performance

Liquid fermented fungal mycelia with decolorization capability have potential applications in scale-up. In this work, the Lactarius deliciosus mycelia were immobilized on ε-polylysine-alginate beads, and the decolorization effects of ε-polylysine-alginate beads were demonstrated along with Coomassie brilliant blue G-250 as a model dye. Morphology observation confirmed the beads had an exterior film and interior capsule with honeycomb microstructures suitable for mycelia growth. It was manifested that the maximum decolorization efficiency for mycelia was 98.5% at a removal rate of 0.68 mg·L^(-1)·h after 3 days. In comparison, the decolorization efficiency of the immobilized mycelia reached the maximum value of 97.3% at a removal rate of 6.1 mg·L^(-1)·h after 8 h. The enzyme activities of lignin peroxidase and laccase tested in the immobilized mycelia were significantly higher than in that of the free ones, such as the lignin peroxidase had the highest enzyme activity of 77.6 ± 7.4 U·L^(-1) in the former, while of 27.4 ± 8.7 U·L^(-1) in the latter. The immobilization of L. deliciosus mycelia could improve the decolorization of Coomassie brilliant blue G-250 efficiently. The prepared ε-polylysine-alginate beads embedded with L. deliciosus mycelia have very good reusability and a great potential in decolorizing analog dyes.

Two-dimensional(2D) nanomaterials have attracted great attention in next generation electronic and optoelectronic technologies due to the unique layered structure and excellent physical and chemical properties. However, the mechanism of transmission along the vertical direction of 2D semiconductor materials has not been investigated. Here, we use first-principles calculations to explore the bandgap energies along different directions, and fabricate a vertical, a lateral and a mixture-structured black phosphorus field effect transistor(BPFET) to study the electrical characteristics along different directions under variable temperatures. The variable temperature test indicates that the mixture-structured device performs more like a lateral device, while the conductance along the vertical direction is hard to be tuned by temperature and electrical field. The unchanged conductance under electric field and variable temperatures allows the vertical device to act as a fixed resistor, promising possible application for the prospective electronic and optoelectronic devices.

Variation of Yellow River Runoff and Its Influence on Salinity in Laizhou Bay

Salinity in estuaries has an important influence on sediment deposition,delta formation,and fishery *** change of runoff in Yellow River(YR),which is the largest river along the Bohai Sea,has an important effect on the salinity of the sea,particularly in Laizhou *** this study,measured runoff data in Lijin hydrological station from 1950 to 2018 are adopted to examine the change of YR runoff into the *** study concludes that the runoff of YR is distributed unevenly throughout the year and the amount of runoff mainly concentrates during the flood *** show a decreasing trend at a significant level ofα=0.95,with a range of−6.17×10^9 m^3 yr−*** groups of runoff are set by using the Finite-Volume Coastal Ocean Model numerical model to analyze the change of salinity in Laizhou *** modeled effects were compared with water level observations made by Bayuquan,Tanggu,and Penglai gauge stations and salinity surveys conducted by Longkou gauge *** results and observations of salinity distributions and coastal water level showed good *** can conclude that the distribution of salinity in Laizhou Bay is high in the east and low in the ***,it responded quickly to the change of the runoff from *** conditions of high river discharge,the low-salinity zone increased in horizontal direction and reached the bottom in vertical direction.

In-situ ultrasonic calibrations of pressure and temperature in a hinge-type double-stage cubic large volume press

Here,simultaneous in-situ calibration of pressures and temperatures was performed in a hinge-type second-stage cubic large volume press(LVP)up to 15 GPa and 1400 K by an acoustic travel-time *** on the recently reported P-tSand P-T-tP-tSequations for Al2O3buffer rod,the cell pressures and temperatures in the chamber of LVP were insitu determined,in comparison with those by conventional off-line(or fixed-points)pressure calibration method and direct thermocouple measurement,*** is found that the cell pressures of the LVP chamber are significantly reduced after annealing at simultaneous high pressures and high temperatures,owing to the stress relaxation as accumulate in the LVP *** acoustic travel-time method is verified to be a good way for precise determination of thermal(cell)pressures at high temperature conditions,and is of great importance and necessity to conduct in-situ physical property measurements under extreme high P-T conditions,especially when the precious synchrotron x-ray/neutron diffraction beams are not available.

Tailoring impedance match and enhancing microwave absorption of Fe3O4/Bi24Fe2O39/Bi hollow porous microrods by controlling their composition

A self-assembly/precipitate conversion/decomposition process was developed for the controllable synthesis of Fe3O4/Bi24Fe2O39/Bi hollow porous microrods（HPMRs）.The results demonstrated that the crystal size,component,and performances of HPMRs could be effectively modulated via changing Fe2+/Bi3+molar ratio（γ）.Fe3O4/Bi24Fe2O39/Bi HPMRs exhibited ferromagnetic behavior at room *** Bi and Bi24Fe2O39contents increased withγ,the saturation magnetization Msand attenuation constantly decreased,whereas coercivity Hcand impedance matching ratio *** Fe3O4with small quantities of Bi and Bi24Fe2O39into HPMRs can significantly enhance microwave ***3O4/Bi24Fe2O39/Bi HPMRs formed atγ=1:0.25 exhibited the optimum microwave absorption *** minimum RLwas-47.3 dB at8.72 GHz,corresponding to 2.4 mm sample *** absorption band with the reflection loss below-20 dB was up to 14.0 GHz for the absorber with a thickness of 1.4-8.0 *** results demonstrate that the introduction of electromagnetic transparent materials(Bi24Fe2O39or Bi)can improve the microwave absorption performances of Fe3O4composites owing to enhanced impedance matching rather than attenuation constant.

The Mechanism of Morin Combined with Celastrol Induces Apoptosis and Inhibits the Growth of Lung Cancer

Morin is a functional flavonoid commonly found in human diet. Compared to being used solely， it is evident that morin can be more effective as a drug adjuvant. However， research on the combined effect and its corresponding mechanism is limited. Here， we found that morin significantly potentiated the inhibitory effects of the natural compound celastrol on the proliferation of lung cancer cells. Morin and celastrol synergistically exhibit marked apoptosis induction in lung cancer cells， accompanied by changes in the abundance of apoptosis-related proteins. Transcriptome analyses revealed that the combination of morin and celastrol had a significant impact on the number of differentially expressed genes in lung cancer cells. Among these genes， BIRC3 was one of the most significantly different ones， which plays a crucial role in the process of tumor resistance to apoptosis. In addition， several genes identified are primarily associated with intracellular signal transduction pathways， specifically the NF-κB signaling pathway. Importantly， the treatment combining morin and celastrol in tumor-bearing mice results in a synergistic effect that significantly suppressed tumor growth. These findings indicate that morin could be a promising functional adjuvant， and the combination of morin and celastrol has potential for the treating lung cancer.

Combination of graphene oxide and platelet-rich plasma improves tendon-bone healing in a rabbit model of supraspinatus tendon reconstruction

The treatment of rotator cuff tear is one of the major challenges for orthopedic *** key to treatment is the reconstruction of the tendon-bone interface(TBI).Autologous platelet-rich plasma(PRP)is used as a therapeutic agent to accelerate the healing of tendons,as it contains a variety of growth factors and is easy to *** oxide(GO)is known to improve the physical properties of biomaterials and promote tissue *** this study,PRP gels containing various concentrations of GO were prepared to promote TBI healing and supraspinatus tendon reconstruction in a rabbit *** incorporation of GO improved the ultrastructure and mechanical properties of the PRP *** gels containing 0.5 mg/ml GO(0.5 GO/PRP)continuously released transforming growth factor-b1(TGF-b1)and platelet-derived growth factor(PDGF)-AB,and the released TGF-b1 and PDGF-AB were still at high concentrations,1063.451 pg/ml and814.217 pg/ml,respectively,on the 14th *** vitro assays showed that the 0.5 GO/PRP gels had good biocompatibility and promoted bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells proliferation and osteogenic and chondrogenic *** 12 weeks of implantation,the magnetic resonance imaging,microcomputed tomography and histological results indicated that the newly regenerated tendons in the 0.5 GO/PRP group had a similar structure to natural ***,the biomechanical results showed that the newly formed tendons in the 0.5 GO/PRP group had better biomechanical properties compared to those in the other groups,and had more stable TBI ***,the combination of PRP and GO has the potential to be a powerful advancement in the treatment of rotator cuff injuries.
