High-rate lithium-ion battery performance of a ternary sea urchin-shaped ConiO_(2)@niP_(6)Mo_(18)/CNTs composites

Bimetallic oxides are attractive anode materials for lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)due to their large theoretical ***,the low conductivity,short cycle life,and poor rate capability are the bottlenecks for their further *** overcome above issues,the basket-like polymolybdate(niP_(6)Mo_(18))and carbon nanotubes(CNTs)were uniformly embedded on the urchin-shaped ConiO_(2)nanospheres to yield a ternary composites ConiO_(2)@niP_(6)Mo_(18)/CNTs via electrostatic *** multi-level morphology of urchin spinules accelerates the diffusion rate of Li^(+);CNT improves the conductivity and enhances cycle stability of the material;and heteropoly acid contributes more redox activity ***,ConiO_(2)@niP_(6)Mo_(18)/CNTs as an anode of LIBs exhibits a high initial capacity(1396.7 mA h g^(−1)at 0.1 A g^(−1)),long-term cycling stability(750.2 mA h g^(−1)after 300 cycles),and rate performance(450.3 mA h g^(−1)at 2 A g^(−1)),which are superior to reported metallic oxides anode of *** density functional theory(DFT)and kinetic mechanism suggest that ConiO_(2)@niP_(6)Mo_(18)/CNTs delivers an outstanding pseudocapacitance and rapid Li^(+)diffusion behaviors,which is due to the rich surface area of the urchin-like ConiO_(2)with the uniform embeddedness of niP_(6)Mo_(18)and *** study provides a new idea for optimizing the performance of bimetallic oxides and developing high-rate lithium-ion battery composites.

Advancing supercapacitor system performance hinges on the innovation of novel electrode materials seamlessly integrated within distinct ***,we introduce a direct approach for crafting nanorod arrays featuring crystalline/amorphous CuO/MnO_(2)−*** reconfigured heterostructure results in an elevated content of electrochemically active MnO_(2).The nanorod arrays serve as efficient capacitive anodes and are easily prepared via low-potential electrochemical *** resulting structure spontaneously forms a p–n heterojunction,developing a built-in electric field that dramatically facilitates the charge transport *** intrinsic electric field,in conjunction with the crystalline/amorphous architecture,enables a large capacitance of 1.0 F·cm^(−2)at 1.0 mA·cm^(−2),an ultrahigh rate capability of approximately 85.4%at 15 mA·cm^(−2),and stable cycling performance with 92.4%retention after 10,000 *** calculations reveal that the presence of heterojunctions allows for the optimization of the electronic structure of this composite,leading to improved conductivity and optimized OH−adsorption *** work provides new insights into the rational design of heterogeneous nanostructures,which hold great potential in energy storage applications.

Asymmetric radical allylation of β-keto esters with vinyl cyclopropanes by dual photoredox/nickel catalysis

Radical-involved allylation reactions have emerged as a powerful platform for construction of carbon-carbon and carbonheteroatom bonds, facilitating the strategic incorporation of diverse allyl moieties. Nevertheless, this burgeoning field still faces ongoing challenges, including limitations of radical precursors and coupling partners, and difficulties in achieving enantiocontrol. Herein, we report for the first time a highly enantioselective radical allylation involving β-keto esters with vinyl cyclopropanes utilizing a synergistic dual photoredox/nickel catalysis under visible light irradiation. The mild and redox-neutral catalytic protocol demonstrates an extensive substrate compatibility and good functional tolerance, providing access to enantioenriched β-keto esters featuring quaternary α-stereocenter with good yields and high enantioselectivities. Preliminary mechanistic studies have uncovered that the success of the reaction hinges on the dual roles of nickel catalyst, including in situ formation of photoredox sensitive substrate/ni complex and the ensuing asymmetric radical addition step.

A new fabrication method for enhancing the yield of linear micromirror arrays assisted by temporary anchors

As one of the most common spatial light modulators,linear micromirror arrays(MMAs)based on microelectromechanical system(MEMS)processes are currently utilized in many ***,two crucial challenges exist in the fabrication of such devices:the adhesion of silicon microstructures caused by anodic bonding and the destruction of the suspended silicon film due to residual *** solve these issues,an innovative processing method assisted by temporary anchors is *** approach effectively reduces the span of silicon microstructures and improves the Euler buckling limit of the silicon ***,these temporary anchors are strategically placed within the primary etching areas,enabling easy removal without additional processing *** a result,we successfully achieved wafer-level,high-yield manufacturing of linear MMAs with a filling factor as high as 95.1%.Demonstrating superior capabilities to those of original MMAs,our enhanced version boasts a total of 60 linear micromirror elements,each featuring a length-to-width ratio of 52.6,and the entire optical aperture measures 5 mm×6 *** linear MMA exhibits an optical deflection angle of 20.4°at 110 Vdc while maintaining exceptional deflection flatness and *** study offers a viable approach for the design and fabrication of thin-film MEMS devices with high yields,and the proposed MMA is promising as a replacement for digital micromirror devices(DMDs,by TI Corp.)in fields such as spectral imaging and optical communication.

The incorporation of dynamic covalent bonds into thermosets facilitates the reprocessing of polymer networks,thereby meeting the sustainable requirements for polymer ***,the mechanical properties of many materials often decline significantly upon reprocessing due to side reactions caused by harsh processing *** this work,we find that the aromatic dithiocarbamate bond can undergo dissociation under mild conditions without the need for a catalyst,enabling the efficient reprocessing of the corresponding *** a consequence,the mechanical properties of the polydithiourethane can be largely preserved after *** discovery of this dynamic chemistry is anticipated to broaden the potential for material design in dynamic covalent polymer networks.

Recent progress in MnBi2nTe3n+1 intrinsic magnetic topological insulators: crystal growth, magnetism and chemical disorder

The search for magnetic topological materials has been at the forefront of condensed matter research for their potential to host exotic states such as axion insulators, magnetic Weyl semimetals, Chern insulators,etc. To date, the MnBi2nTe3n+1family is the only group of materials showcasing van der Waals-layered structures, intrinsic magnetism and non-trivial band topology without trivial bands at the Fermi level. The interplay between magnetism and band topology in this family has led to the proposal of various topological phenomena, including the quantum anomalous Hall effect, quantum spin Hall effect and quantum magnetoelectric effect. Among these, the quantum anomalous Hall effect has been experimentally observed at record-high temperatures, highlighting the unprecedented potential of this family of materials in fundamental science and technological innovation. In this paper, we provide a comprehensive review of the research progress in this intrinsic magnetic topological insulator family, with a focus on single-crystal growth, characterization of chemical disorder, manipulation of magnetism through chemical substitution and external pressure, and important questions that remain to be conclusively answered.

Myotis bat STING attenuates aging-related inflammation in female mice

Bats,notable as the only flying mammals,serve as natural reservoir hosts for various highly pathogenic viruses in humans(e.g.,SARS-CoV and Ebola virus).Furthermore,bats exhibit an unparalleled longevity among mammals relative to their size,particularly the Myotis bats,which can live up to 40 ***,the mechanisms underlying these distinctive traits remain incompletely *** our prior research,we demonstrated that bats exhibit dampened STING-interferon activation,potentially conferring upon them the capacity to mitigate virus-or aging-induced *** substantiate this hypothesis,we established the first in vivo bat-mouse model for aging studies by integrating Myotis davidii bat STING(MdSTING)into the mouse *** monitored the genotypes of these mice and performed a longitudinal comparative transcriptomic analysis on MdSTING and wild-type mice over a 3-year aging *** transcriptomic analysis indicated a reduction in aging-related inflammation in female MdSTING mice,as evidenced by significantly lower levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines and chemokines,immunopathology,and neutrophil recruitment in aged female MdSTING mice compared to aged wild-type mice in *** results indicated that MdSTING knock-in attenuates the aging-related inflammatory response and may also improve the healthspan in mice in a sex-dependent *** the underlying mechanism awaits further study,this research has critical implications for bat longevity research,potentially contributing to our comprehension of healthy aging in humans.

BACKGROUND Insulin autoimmune syndrome(IAS)is a severe manifestation of spontaneous *** is characterized by elevated levels of immune-reactive insulin and highly potent insulin autoantibodies(IAAs),which are induced by endogenous insulin circulating in the *** is distinguished by recurring instances of spontaneous hypoglycemia,the presence of IAA within the body,a substantial elevation in serum insulin levels,and an absence of prior exogenous insulin ***,recent studies show that both conventional insulin and its analogs can induce IAS episodes,giving rise to the notion of nonclassical ***,more attention should be paid to these *** SUMMARY In this case report,we present a rare case of non-classical IAS in an 83-year-old male patient who present with symptoms of a psychiatric *** symptom onset,the patient exhibited Whipple's triad(including hypoglycemia,blood glucose level less than 2.8 mmol/L during onset,and rapid relief of hypoglycemic symptoms after glucose administration).Concurrently,his serum insulin level was significantly elevated,which contradicted his C-peptide *** a comprehensive examination,the patient was diagnosed with exogenous insulin autoimmune *** that the patient had type 2 diabetes mellitus and a history of exogenous insulin use before disease onset,it was presumed that non classical IAS was induced by this *** PubMed database was used to search for previous cases of IAS and non-classical IAS to analyze their characteristics and treatment *** The occurrence of non-classical IAS is associated with exogenous insulin or its analogs,as well as with sulfhydryl *** can be effectively alleviated through the discontinuation of relevant medications,administration of hormones or immunosuppressants,plasma exchange,and lifestyle adjustments.
