Discovery of the choristodere Hyphalosaurus baitaigouensis from the Lower Cretaceous jiufotang Formation of western Liaoning,China and its paleobiogeographic significance

The water-living reptile genus Hyphalosaurus was previously discovered in the Lower Cretaceous Yixian Formation bearing the middle Jehol Biota in western Liaoning,*** complete skeletons of Hyphalosaurus are reported for the first time from the jiufotang Formation bearing the late Jehol Biota at two sites in western *** show the typical characteristics of Hyphalosaurus baitaigouensis in terms of the contact between some cranial bones and the number of cervical and dorsal vertebrae,and therefore are assigned to *** discovery extends the stratigraphic range of this species from the Yixian Formation to the overlying jiufotang *** paper further briefly compares the main characteristics of the two skeletons,summarizes the temporal and spatial distribution of Hyphalosaurus,and discusses the palaeogeographic evolution of western Liaoning at the middle and late Jehol Biota stages based on the aquatic habits of Hyphalosaurus and the geological background of western *** analytical results show that the volcanic downwarped lakes,with distinct geographical divisions in western Liaoning during the deposition of the Yixian Formation,had not completely disappeared till the deposition of the jiufotang *** palaeo-lake in the Fuxin-Yixian Basin underwent the process of generation,expansion and shrinkage during the depositional period of the Yixian Formation and finally merged into a large *** palaeo-Dalinghe River,which connected the main basins in western Liaoning during the depositional period of the jiufotang Formation,was formed simultaneously.

Vanadium(V) Complexes Containing Unsymmetrical N-Heterocyclic Carbene Ligands: Highly Efficient Synthesis and Catalytic Behavior towards Ethylene/Propylene Copolymerization

The highly efficient method has been developed for the synthesis of NHC·VOCl_(3) containing symmetrical or unsymmetrical Nheterocyclic carbene(NHC) ligands by the transmetallation reaction of NHC·AgCl with VOCl_(3).The total isolated yield of VOCl_(3)[1,3-(2,4,6-Me_(3)C_(6)H_(2))_(2)(NCH=)_(2)C:](V4') reached 86% by transmetallation reaction,which is much higher than that(48%) by direct coordination *** methodology has also been used to synthesize the novel vanadium complexes containing unsymmetrical NHC ligands of VOCl_(3)[PhCH_(2)NCH=CHNR)C:](V5',R=2,4,6-Me_(3)C_(6)H_(2);V6',R=2,4-Me_(2)-6-Ph-C_(6)H_(2);V7',R=2,6-^(i)Pr_(2)-C_(6)H_(3)) with high yield,which could not be obtained by direct coordination *** catalytic activity and copolymerization ability would be improved by introducing unsymmetrical NHC ligands due to their less steric bulky *** vanadium complex V5' containing unsymmetrical NHC ligand exhibits higher catalytic activity(3.7×10^(5)g_(copolymer)·mol^(-1) of V·h^(-1)) than that of V4' containing symmetrical NHC ***,the higher propylene incorporation ratio(45.6 mol%) in the copolymers of ethylene with propylene could be obtained by using V5' than that(39.9%) by using V4'.The results would provide a highly efficient strategy for the synthesis of early transition metal complexes containing versitile NHC ligands,affording the catalyst with both high catalytic activity and copolymerization ability for the synthesis of high performance polyolefin elastomers.

Neuroprotection by cattle encephalon glycoside and ignotin beyond the time window of thrombolysis in ischemic stroke

Cattle encephalon glycoside and ignotin(CEGI)injection is known as a multi-target neuroprotective drug that contains numerous liposoluble molecules,such as polypeptides,monosialotetrahexosyl ganglioside(GM-1),free amino acids,hypoxanthine and *** has been approved by the Chinese State Food and Drug Administration and widely used in the treatments of various diseases,such as stroke and Alzheimer's ***,the neuroprotective effects of CEGI beyond the time window of thrombolysis(within 4.5 hours)on acute ischemic stroke remain *** study constructed a rat middle cerebral artery occlusion model by suture-occluded method to simulate ischemic *** first daily dose was intraperitoneally injected at 8 hours post-surgery and the CEGI treatments continued for 14 *** of the modified five-point Bederson scale,beam balance test and rotameric test showed the neurological function of ischemic stroke rats treated with 4 m L/kg/d CEGI improved significantly,but the mortality within 14 days did not change *** MRI and 2,3,5-triphenyltetrazolium chloride staining confirmed that the infarct size in the 4 m L/kg/d CEGI-treated rats was significantly reduced compared with ischemic insult *** results of transmission electron microscopy and double immunofluorescence staining showed that the hippocampal neuronal necrosis in the ischemic penumbra decreased whereas the immunopositivity of new neuronal-specific protein doublecortin and the percentage of Ki67/doublecortin positive cells increased in CEGI-treated rats compared with untreated *** results suggest that CEGI has an effective neuroprotective effect on ischemic stroke when administered after the time window of *** study was approved by the Animal Ethics Committee of The Third Military Medical University,China.

ZnO Additive Boosts Charging Speed and Cycling Stability of Electrolytic Zn–Mn Batteries

Electrolytic aqueous zinc-manganese(Zn–Mn) batteries have the advantage of high discharge voltage and high capacity due to two-electron reactions. However, the pitfall of electrolytic Zn–Mn batteries is the sluggish deposition reaction kinetics of manganese oxide during the charge process and short cycle life. We show that, incorporating ZnO electrolyte additive can form a neutral and highly viscous gel-like electrolyte and render a new form of electrolytic Zn–Mn batteries with significantly improved charging capabilities. Specifically, the ZnO gel-like electrolyte activates the zinc sulfate hydroxide hydrate assisted Mn^(2+) deposition reaction and induces phase and structure change of the deposited manganese oxide(Zn_(2)Mn_(3)O_8·H_(2)O nanorods array), resulting in a significant enhancement of the charge capability and discharge efficiency. The charge capacity increases to 2.5 mAh cm^(-2) after 1 h constant-voltage charging at 2.0 V vs. Zn/Zn^(2+), and the capacity can retain for up to 2000 cycles with negligible attenuation. This research lays the foundation for the advancement of electrolytic Zn–Mn batteries with enhanced charging capability.

A micro-crosslinked amphoteric hydrophobic association copolymer as high temperature-and salt-resistance fluid loss reducer for water-based drilling fluids

During ultradeep oil and gas drilling,fluid loss reducers are highly important for water-based drilling fluids,while preparing high temperature-and salt-resistance fluid loss reducers with excellent rheology and filtration performance remains a ***,a micro-crosslinked amphoteric hydrophobic association copolymer(i.e.,DADC)was synthesized using N,N-dimethyl acrylamide,diallyl dimethyl ammonium chloride,2-acrylamido-2-methylpropane sulfonic acid,hydrophobic monomer,and pentaerythritol triallyl ether *** to the synergistic effects of hydrogen bonds,electrostatic interaction,hydrophobic association,and micro-crosslinking,the DADC copolymer exhibited outstanding temperature-and *** rheological experiments have shown that the DADC copolymer had excellent shear dilution performance and a certain degree of salt-responsive viscosity-increasing *** DADC copolymer could effectively adsorb on the surface of bentonite particles through electrostatic interaction and hydrogen bonds,which bring more negative charge to the bentonite,thus improving the hydration and dispersion of bentonite particles as well as the colloidal stability of the drilling ***,the drilling fluids constructed based on the DADC copolymer exhibited satisfactory rheological and filtration properties(FLHTHP=12 m L)after aging at high temperatures(up to200℃)and high salinity(saturated salt)***,this work provided new insights into designing and fabricating high-performance drilling fluid treatment agents,demonstrating good potential applications in deep and ultradeep drilling engineering.

Data-driven casting defect prediction model for sand casting based on random forest classification algorithm

The complex sand-casting process combined with the interactions between process parameters makes it difficult to control the casting quality,resulting in a high scrap rate.A strategy based on a data-driven model was proposed to reduce casting defects and improve production efficiency,which includes the random forest(RF)classification model,the feature importance analysis,and the process parameters optimization with Monte Carlo *** collected data includes four types of defects and corresponding process parameters were used to construct the RF *** results show a recall rate above 90% for all *** Gini Index was used to assess the importance of the process parameters in the formation of various defects in the RF ***,the classification model was applied to different production conditions for quality *** the case of process parameters optimization for gas porosity defects,this model serves as an experimental process in the Monte Carlo method to estimate a better temperature *** prediction model,when applied to the factory,greatly improved the efficiency of defect *** show that the scrap rate decreased from 10.16% to 6.68%.

Objective To investigate the role and molecular mechanism of exosomal miR-224-5p in colorectal cancer(CRC).Methods The miR-224-5p expression in CRC patient tissues and cell-derived exosomes was measured by laser capture microdissection and qRT-PCR,***-luciferase reporter gene assay was used to determine the target gene of *** protein expressions of p53 and unc-51 like kinase 2(ULK2)in CRC cells were detected by western *** cytometry was used to detect cell cycle and *** proliferation was measured by CCK8 and EdU *** The miR-224-5p expression was upregulated in CRC tissues and increased progressively with the rise of CRC *** cells secreted extracellular miR-224-5p mainly in an exosome-dependent manner,and then miR-224-5p could be transferred to surrounding tumor cells to regulate cell proliferation in the form of autocrine or ***,ULK2 was characterized as a direct target of miR-224-5p and was downregulated in CRC ***,ULK2 inhibited CRC cell proliferation in a p53-dependent ***,exosome-derived miR-224-5p partially reversed the proliferation regulation of ULK2 on CRC *** Our findings demonstrate that exosome-transmitted miR-224-5p promotes p53-dependent cell proliferation by targeting ULK2 in CRC,which may offer promising targets for CRC prevention and therapy.

纤维种类鉴别是古代纸张保护的重要基础工作。探究中国传统手工纸的无损纤维鉴别的方法对中国古籍、档案及纸质文物的研究和保护具有重要意义。该研究应用衰减全反射傅里叶变换红外光谱(ATRFTIR)对已知纤维成分的17类64种中国传统手工纸标准样品进行了无损分析,参考纤维素和木质素的红外峰位及部分纸样的X射线衍射(XRD)分析结果确认纸样中的所有红外谱峰归属;并采用分波段比较分析的方法对相似度极高的谱图进行比对分析,分别总结各类纸张在4000~1800、1800~1500、1500~1200和1200~600cm^(-1)四个波段的谱图特征;同时对4cm^(-1)精度的谱图进行二阶导数处理,分别总结各类纸张在1500~1200和1200~900cm^(-1)两个波段的二阶导数谱图特征;最后通过红外结晶指数及其他峰高和峰面积比值计算结果实现对纸类更细致的区分。应用上述方法对16个盲测样品进行了有效性测试,红外分析结果与显微纤维鉴别结果一致,初步证明了该方法在中国传统手工纸无损纤维鉴别上的可行性和有效性。实验结果表明,应用ATR-FTIR无损分析法可对麻、桑构皮、檀皮、瑞香皮和竹几大类原料的传统手工纸纤维类型作出快速而准确的鉴别,对于混料的宣纸也同样适用;但对于显微分析也难以鉴别的亲缘关系较近的植物原料如桑、构皮之间的精细鉴别仍有一定局限性。
