Hydroxyapatite(HA)and its com.osites with inorganic additives,dopants,and polym.rs is a rapidly developing branch in the m.terials *** particular,carbon allotropes are widely used in these com.osites being widely applied for m.dical *** a gap of insufficient generalization of recent achievem.nts in the field of the HA/Carbon com.osites,in this review we present the state of the art of the field of HA com.osites and hybrids with classic carbon allotropes and *** com.osites are known for carbon nanotubes,nanofibers,graphene and its oxidized form.,as well as,in a lesser grade,for graphite,fullerenes,nanodiam.nds,carbon nanofoam.,*** com.osites can be fabricated by a variety of classic and less-com.on m.thods,such as co-precipitation(with or without ultrasonic treatm.nt),CVD,hot isostatic pressing,hydrotherm.l,spark plasm. sintering,biom.m.tic m.neralization,therm.l and plasm. spray,electrochem.cal and electrophoretic deposition,self-assem.ling,3D printing,electrospinning,and lyophilisation,am.ng *** of various synthesis techniques can be also carried out for com.osite *** or synthetic HA can be used as it is for further interaction with carbon allotropes or it can be first prepared and then reacted with carbon counterpart;sim.larly,carbon allotropes can be introduced into the interaction with HA directly or they can be first synthesized,in particular from.*** biocom.atible com.osites can be produced in the form.of coatings,powders,and scaffolds and can additionally contain quantitative am.unts of third phases,frequently natural or synthetic *** these com.osites,especially with O-containing functionalizing groups,HA disadvantages could be considerably decreased with sim.ltaneous enhancem.nt of m.chanical properties,becom.ng sim.lar to hum.n bone,chem.cal stability and biocom.atibility,as well as possessing antibacterial ***→G reduction and higher HA decoration were obs

The Antarctic Paleogene m.rine fossil record has been the key to reconstructing the evolution of the Weddellian Sea and final dism.m.erm.nt of Southern *** this context,Eocene m.rine vertebrates from.Seym.ur(m.ram.io)Island have provided valuable *** present the first Eocene record of m.rine reptiles from.the southern Atlantic Coast of South *** corresponds to several postcranial turtle rem.ins represented by a proxim.l end of the right hum.rus,three caudal and one thoracic vertebrae,a fragm.nt of the left pubis,and ten ossicles of the dorsal carapace,com.ng from.the Leticia Form.tion(late-m.d Eocene)at Cabo Tiburones,Tierra del Fuego,*** m.terials show severalfeatures such as the size and general m.rphology of the hum.rus and vertebrae,and the presence of relatively sm.ll,irregular,sm.oth,and unkeeled ossicles,which allow us to assign them.to derm.chelyidae *** are a cosm.politan group ofcryptodiran turtles,registered from.the late Cretaceous up to the recent,with som. physiological-biological peculiarities(e.g.,endotherm. and an exclusive jellyfish-based diet)and characterized by the presence of an osseous carapace form.d by *** new finding from.the Leticia Form.tion is an addition to the scarce and extrem.ly fragm.ntary record of Eocene derm.chelyids from.the southern seas like those from.the la m.seta and Subm.seta form.tions(Antarctica)and the Waihao and Burnside form.tions(New Zealand).This new inform.tion allows us to discuss the presence of these turtles in such high latitudes in the past and its im.lication in the evolution of the Weddellian fauna.

Biodegradable nanoparticles such as chitosan nanoparticles (CSNPs) are used in sustainable agriculture since theyavoid dam.ge to the environm.nt;CSNPs have positive effects such as the accum.lation of bioactive com.oundsand increased productivity in plants. This study aim.d to investigate the im.act of applying CSNPs on lettuce,specifically focusing on enzym.tic activity, bioactive com.ounds, and yield. The trial was conducted using a com.letelyrandom.zed design, incorporating CSNPs: 0, 0.05, 0.1, 0.2, 0.4, and 0.8 m. m.−1. The doses of 0.4 m. m.−1im.rove yields up to 24.6% increases and 0.1 m. m.−1 of CSNPs increases total phenols by 31.2% and antioxidantcapacity by 34.6%. In addition, when low concentrations of CSNPs (0.05 and 0.1 m. L−1) were applied, anincrease in catalase was determ.ned. The CSNPs represent a good alternative to be used as a biostim.lant in sustainableagriculture because they im.rove the yield and quality of lettuce by increasing the bioactive com.ounds.

Caseous lym.hadenitis (CL) is a chronic infectious disease caused by Corynebacterium.pseudotuberculosis (C. pseudotuberculosis) that is transm.tted m.inly by contact with contam.nated exudate wounds. Caseous lym.hadenitis affects different species of anim.ls and is considered an occupational zoonotic disease. CL is responsible for im.ortant econom.c losses in the sm.ll rum.nant industry, which include decreased production, dam.ged quality of m.lk and wool, reproductive disorders, total or partial confiscation of carcasses, and depreciation of the skin. Caseous lym.hadenitis disease can present in two clinical pictures: a skin or superficial picture and a visceral or deep picture. The presum.tive diagnosis of CL in the skin is based on the exploration of superficial lym.h nodes. These have little value in diagnosing visceral CL, where the m.in sign is em.ciation. The prevention and control of CL involve identifying the skin condition and debriding the abscesses. In addition to the treatm.nt of superficial lesions, the anim.l facilities m.st be repaired and adapted. To avoid exposure of negative herds to CL, new anim.ls m.st be subjected to observation to identify any of the clinical m.nifestations. Another form.of control is vaccination, though only som. countries have com.ercial vaccines. General inform.tion on the etiological agent and its characteristics can be used to im.rove the understanding of this disease.

The developm.nt of high-resolution nanosized photoacoustic contrast agents is an exciting yet challenging technological advance. Herein, antibody （breast cancer-associated antigen I （Brcaal） m.noclonal antibody）- and peptide （RGD）- functionalized gold nanoprism. （AuNprs） were used as a com.inatorial m.thodology for in situ photoacoustic im.ging, angiography, and localized hypertherm.a using orthotopic and subcutaneous m.rine gastric carcinom. m.dels. RGD-conjugated PEGylated AuNprs are available for tum.r angiography, and Brcaal m.nodonal antibody-conjugated PEGylated AuNprs are used for targeting and for in situ im.ging of gastric carcinom. in orthotopic tum.r m.dels. In situ photoacoustic im.ging allowed for anatom.cal and functional im.ging at the tum.r site. In vivo tum.r angiography im.ging showed enhancem.nt of the photoacoustic signal in a tim.-dependent m.nner. Furtherm.re, photoacoustic im.ging dem.nstrated that tum.r vessels were clearly dam.ged after localized hypertherm.a. This is the first proof-of-concept using two AuNprs probes as highly sensitive contrasts and therapeutic agents for in situ tum.r detection and inhibition. These sm.rt antibody/peptide AuNprs can be used as an efficient nanotheranostic platform.for in vivo tum.r detection with high sensitivity, as well as for tum.r targeting therapy which, with a single-dose injection, results in tum.r size reduction and increases m.ce survival after localized hypertherm.a treatm.nt.

The therapeutic prom.se of sm.ll interfering RNAs （siRNAs） for specific gene silencing is dependent on the successful delivery of functional siRNAs to the cytoplasm. Their conjugation to an established delivery platform. such as gold nanoparticles, offers trem.ndous potential for treating diseases and advancing our understanding of cellular processes. Their success or failure is dependent on both the uptake of the nanoparticles into the cells and subsequent intracellular release of the functional siRNA. In this study, utilizing gold nanoparticle siRNA-m.diated delivery against C-m.C, we aim.d to determ.ne if we could achieve knockdown in a cancer cell line with low levels of intracellular glutathione, and determ.ne the influence, if any, of polyethylene glycol （PEG） ligand density on knockdown, with a view to determ.ning the optim.l nanoparticle design to achieve C-m.C knockdown. We dem.nstrate that, regardless of the PEG density, knockdown in cells with relatively low glutathione levels can be achieved, as well as the possible effect of steric hindrance of PEG on the availability of the siRNA for cleavage in the intracellular environm.nt. Gold nanoparticle uptake was dem.nstrated via transm.ssion electron m.croscopy and m.ss spectroscopy, while knockdown was determ.ned at the protein and physiological levels （cells in S-phase） by in-cell westerns and BrdU incorporation, respectively.

Gastric cancer (GC) is one of the com.onestcancers with high m.rbidity and m.rtality in the *** to realize precise diagnosis and therapy of GC ownsgreat clinical requirem.nt. In recent years, artificial intelligence (AI) has been actively explored to apply to earlydiagnosis and treatm.nt and prognosis of gastric carcinom.. Herein, we review recent advance of AI in earlyscreening, diagnosis, therapy and prognosis of stom.chcarcinom.. Especially AI com.ined with breath screeningearly GC system.im.roved 97.4 % of early GC diagnosisratio, AI m.del on stom.ch cancer diagnosis system.of salivabiom.rkers obtained an overall accuracy of 97.18 %, speci-ficity of 97.44 %, and sensitivity of 96.88 %. We also discussconcept, issues, approaches and challenges of AI applied instom.ch cancer. This review provides a com.rehensive viewand roadm.p for readers working in this field, with the aim.f pushing application of AI in theranostics of stom.chcancer to increase the early discovery ratio and curativeratio of GC patients.

How to trigger strong anti-tum.r im.une responses has becom. a focus for tum.r ***,we report the hum.n-induced pluripotent stem.cells(iPSs)to deliver m.O2@Ce6 nanoprobes into tum.rs for sim.ltaneous photodynam.c therapy(PDT)and enhanced ***6 photosensitizer was attached on m.nganese dioxide(m.O2)nanoparticles,and resultant m.O2@Ce6 nanoprobes were delivered into m.tom.cin-treated iPSs to form.iPS-m.O2@Ce6 *** iPS-m.O2@Ce6 actively targeted in vivo tum.rs,the acidic m.croenvironm.nt triggered interaction between m.O2 and H2O2,released large quantities of oxygen,alleviated hypoxia in *** PDT,singlet oxygen form.d,broken iPSs released tum.r-shared antigens,which evoked an intensive innate and adaptive im.une response against the tum.r,im.roving dendritic cells m.tured,effector T cells,and natural killer cells were ***,regulatory T cells were reduced,and then the im.une response induced by iPS-m.O2@Ce6 was m.rkedly stronger than the im.une reaction induced by m.O2@Ce6(Pm.O2@Ce6 m.rkedly inhibited tum.r growth and m.tastasis and reduced m.rtality in m.ce m.dels with *** iPS s loaded with m.O2-based nanoprobes are a prom.sing strategy for sim.ltaneous PDT and enhanced im.unotherapy against tum.r and own clinical translational prospect.
