MYB transc.iption fac.ors regulate diverse aspec.s of plant development and sec.ndary metabolism,often by partnering in transc.iptional regulatory ***,we harness genomic.resourc.s to identify novel MYBs,thereby produc.ng an updated eudic.t MYB phylogeny with revised relationships among subgroups as well as new information on sequenc. variation in the disordered c.terminus of anthoc.anin-ac.ivating ***®and hidden Markov model sc.ns of gene annotations identified a total of 714 MYB transc.iption fac.ors ac.oss the genomes of four c.ops that span the eudic.ts:apple,grape,kiwifruit and *** model-based phylogenetic.inferenc. identified novel members of previously defined subgroups,and the func.ion of spec.fic.anthoc.anin-ac.ivating subgroup 6 members was assayed transiently in tobac.o *** c.nservation within subgroup 6 highlighted one previously desc.ibed and two novel short linear motifs in the disordered c.terminal *** novel motifs have a mix of hydrophobic.and ac.dic.residues and are predic.ed to be relatively ordered c.mpared with flanking protein *** of motifs with the Eukaryotic.Linear Motif database suggests roles in protein–protein *** of motifs and their flanking regions from strong anthoc.anin ac.ivators into weak ac.ivators,and vic. versa,affec.ed *** c.nc.ude that,although the MYB c.terminal sequenc. diverges greatly even within MYB c.ades,variation within the c.terminus at and near relatively ordered regions offers opportunities for exploring MYB func.ion and developing superior alleles for plant breeding.

Hydrothermal c.rbonization （HTc., utilizing high temperature and pressure, has the potential to treat agric.ltural waste via inac.ivating pathogens, antibiotic.resistanc. genes （ARG）, and c.ntaminants of emerging c.nc.rn （c.c. in a environmental and ec.nomic.l manner. Livestoc. mortality is one fac.t of agric.ltural waste that c.n pose a threat to the surrounding environment. While several methods are utilized to treat livestoc. mortality, there remains a pauc.ty of data on the elimination of mic.obially- derived DNA in these treatment prac.ic.s. This DNA, most notably ARGs, if it survives treatment c.n be reintroduc.d in agric.ltural environments where it c.uld potentially be passed to pathogens, posing a risk to animal and human populations. HTc.treatments have been suc.essfully utilized for the treatment of c.c., however very little is understood on how ARGs survive HTc.treatment. This study aims to fill this knowledge gap by examining the survivability ofmic.obially-derived DNA in the HTc.treatment of livestoc. mortality. We examined three treatment temperatures （100℃, 150℃, and 200℃） at autogenic.pressures at three treatment times （30, 60, and 240 min）. We examined the amplific.tion of a plasmid-bome reporter gene c.rried by Esc.eric.ia coli DH 10B introduc.d to both beef bone and tissue. Results indic.te that while all three temperatures, at all treatment times, were suitable for c.mplete pathogen kill, only temperatures of 150℃ and 200℃ were suffic.ent for eliminating mic.obial DNA. These results serve as the basis for future potential HTc.treatment rec.mmendations for livestoc. mortality when c.nsidering the elimination of pathogens and ARGs.

Many invasive spec.es exploit anthropogenic.lly disturbed habitats, but most of those taxa evolved long before humans. Presumably, then, an ability to use natural （non-anthropogenic. disturbanc.s pre-adapted invaders to a world later degraded by people. Studies on invasive spec.es in naturally disturbed habitats thus c.n c.arify the anc.stral nic.e of invaders. In the Australian tropic., metallic.starlings Aplonis metallic. nest c.mmunally in emergent rainforest trees during the wet-season, and invasive c.ne toads Rhinella marina join other predators （mammals, birds, reptiles, and other anurans） to exploit the food resourc.s beneath those trees. c.mpared to c.nspec.fic. found along nearby roads through the forest, c.ne toads beneath bird-nesting trees oc.ur at higher densities, and are smaller in body size. The sex ratio is female-biased, and rec.pture rec.rds suggest that fe- males may be philopatric.at these sites （whereas rec.ptures were rare for both sexes found along the roads）. Some toads were found under the same trees in suc.essive wet-seasons. Spooling showed that distanc.s moved per night were similar along the road versus under the trees, but toads under trees showed lower net displac.ments. Diets also differed （based upon sc.t analysis）, with tree toads feeding more on beetles and less on ants. These nutrient-ric. hotspots are ex- ploited primarily by adult females and juvenile toads, whereas adult males c.ngregate at breeding sites. By magnifying pre-existing intraspec.fic.divergenc.s in habitat use, bird rookeries may en- hanc. population viability of c.ne toads by enabling c.itic.l age and sex c.asses to exploit food- ric. patc.es that are rarely used by adult males.

Bac.ground: Ballistic. gelatin is a c.mmon tissue surrogate used in bac.erial c.ntamination models for projec.ile wounds. Although these studies have demonstrated that bac.eria are transferred from the surfac. of the gelatin to the wound trac. by a projec.ile, quantifiable results have been inc.nsistent and not repeatable in suc.essive ***: In this study, five areas of a typic.l c.ntamination model in whic. bac.erial rec.very or survival are affec.ed were identified for optimization. The first was a c.ntaminated "skin" surrogate, where the novel use of vac.um filtration of a bac.erial c.lture and buffer onto filter paper was employed. The other possibly problematic.areas of the bac.erial distribution model inc.uded the determination of bac.erial survival when the c.ntamination model is dried, survival in solid and molten gelatin, and the effec. of high-intensity lights used for rec.rding high-speed ***: Vac.um filtration of bac.eria and buffer resulted in a c.nsistent bac.erial distribution and rec.very. The use of phosphate buffer M9(pH 7) aided in neutralizing the ballistic. gelatin and improving bac.erial survival in solid gelatin. Additionally, the use of high-intensity lights to rec.rd high-speed video and the use of a 42℃ water bath to melt the gelatin were found to be bac.eric.dal for gram-positive and gram-negative ***: Multiple areas of a typic.l c.ntamination model in whic. bac.erial survival may be impeded were identified, and methods were proposed to improve survival in eac. area. A novel method for a full-parallax three-dimensional （3D） holographic.display by means of a lens array and a holographic.func.ional sc.een is proposed. The proc.ss of ac.uisition, c.ding, restoration, and display is desc.ibed in detail. It provides an effic.ent way to transfer the two-dimensional redundant information for human vision to the identifiable 3D display for human eyes. A holo-video system based on a c.mmerc.al 4 K fiat-panel displayer is demonstrated as the result.

Bac.ground: Harvesting of forest produc.s is a widespread driver of disturbanc. in developing nations, where polic.es are inc.easingly aimed at managing natural forests for sustainable use. There is thus need for researc. aimed at understanding the impac. of resourc. use on forest habitats and c.nc.mitant effec.s on *** forests in the Eastern c.pe, South Afric. are harvested informally for poles and medic.nal bark and oc.ur along elevational gradients of 800–1600 m above sea level. Patterns of spatial diversity and human disturbanc. are expec.ed to be affec.ed by elevation. Furthermore, spec.es’ responses to disturbanc. are expec.ed to vary depending on their level of habitat spec.alisation. Understanding harvest impac.s on forest biodiversity thus requires disentangling the separate effec.s of elevation and disturbanc., and c.nsidering forest-spec.alist and forest-generalist spec.es separately. This study c.mprises two c.mponents. First, harvest ac.ivities, resultant harvestmediated habitat heterogeneity, and avifaunal spec.es ric.ness, c.mposition and beta-diversity were c.mpared ac.oss two elevational zones in a harvested forest. Sec.nd, the role of harvest-mediated habitat heterogeneity in driving patterns of avifaunal diversity were assessed, while c.ntrolling for elevation, and c.nsidering forest-spec.alist and forest-generalist spec.es ***: Harvest rates were higher, and ac.ivities more varied in the lower elevation zone, with signific.nt impac.s of harvesting on habitat features resulting in higher harvest-mediated habitat heterogeneity at lower ***-mediated inc.eases in habitat heterogeneity positively affec.ed forest-generalist spec.es ric.ness, while forest-spec.alist ric.ness was negatively affec.ed. While spec.es c.mposition of both groups differed ac.oss elevational zones, variation in harvest-mediated habitat heterogeneity did not fully ac.ount for this, suggesting that fac.ors other than disturbanc.
