BACKGROUnD Metabolic-dysfunction associated steatotic liver disease(MAsLD)is a hepatic manifestation of metabolic *** suggest ornithine aspartate(LOla)as drug *** To analyze the influence of LOla intake on gut microbiota using a nutritional model of *** Adult male sprague Dawley rats were randomized into three groups:Control(10 rats fed with a standard diet),MAsLD(10 rats fed with a high-fat and choline-deficient diet),and LOla(10 rats receiving 200 mg/kg/d LOla,after the 16th week receiving high-fat and choline-deficient diet).After 28 wk of the experiment,animals were euthanized,and feces present in the intestine were *** fecal DnA extraction,the V4 region of the 16s rRnA gene was amplified followed by sequencing in an Ion s5™*** Alpha and beta diversity metrics were comparable between MAsLD and LOla.3 OTUs were differentially abundant between MAsLD and LOla,which belong to the species Helicobacter rodentium,Parabacteroides goldsteinii,and Parabacteroides *** functional prediction provided two different metabolic profiles between MAsLD and *** 9 pathways differentially abundant in MAsLD are related to a change in energy source,adenosine/purine nucleotides degradation as well as guanosine and adenosine deoxyribonucleotides *** 14 pathways differentially abundant in LOla are associated with four major metabolic functions primarily influenced by L-aspartate,including tricarboxylic acid cycle pathways,purine/guanosine nucleotides biosynthesis,pyrimidine ribonucleotides biosynthesis and salvage as well as lipid IVA *** Although LOla had no influence on alpha and beta diversity in this nutritional model of MAsLD,it was associated with changes in specific gut microbes and their related metabolic pathways.

Whole blood platelet aggregometry in HIV-infected patients on treatment with abacavir

Purpose: To assess platelet activity in HIV-patients with and without antiretroviral therapy (ART), analysing the influence of the presence or absence of ABC in the regimen. Methods: Observational, pilot study, including 30 asymptomatic HIV-patients: 20 on ART for at least 24 weeks and with undetectable HIV viral load - 10 on ABC, 10 on tenofovir (TDF) - and 10 na?ve patients, and a control group of 10 HIV-negative subjects. no subject was receiving drugs with antiagregant activity. Platelet activity was assessed by measuring time-dependent platelet aggregometry (electrical impedance on fasting whole blood), induced by ADP (1.25, 2.5 μM), collagen (0.5, 1 μg/mL), arachidonic acid (100, 200 μM), and U46619 (receptor agonist of the tromboxano A2) (1.25, 2.5 μM). statistic program: sPss, 16.0. Results: demographic, anthropometric data, and cardiovascular risk factors were similar in all groups, but older age and longer time of HIV infection in the ABC group (50.4 vs 36.1, 34.2 and 42.7 years, respectively;p nd 140.3 vs 88.1 and 48.3 months in the two other groups of HIV patients;p n CD4 cells count was 564/mm3. Platelet aggregation with exposure to U46619 was higher in the ABC compared with the TDF group (11.1 vs 4.4%;p = 0.007), na?ve patients (11.1 vs 5.7%;p = 0.014), and the HIV-negative group (11.1 vs 6.5%;p = 0.04). These differences remained significant when controlled for age and time of HIV infection. Conclusions: ABC increases platelet aggregability possibly in relation with the receptor of tromboxano. Wider studies are needed to confirm this hypothesis.

Objective:To evaluate in ritro antimicrobial activities of selected 58 ethno-medicinal plant extracts with a view to assess their therapeutic ***:A total of 58 traditional Chinese medicinal plants were carefully selected based on the literature review and their traditional *** antimicrobial activities of ethanol extracts of these medicinal plants were tested against fungi(Aspergillus funigaius),yeast(Candida albicans),gram-negative(Acirelobacter haumannii and Pseudornnruis aeruginosa)and gram-positive bacteria(staphglococcus aureus).The activities were tested at three different concentrations of 1.00,0.10 and 0.01 mg/*** data was analysed using Gene data screener ***:The measured antimicrobial activities indicated that out of the 58 plant extracts,15 extracts showed anti-fungal activity and 23 extracts exhibited anti-bacterial *** plant extracts have exhibited both anti-bacterial and anti-fungal *** instance,Eucommia ulmoides,Pohgonum cuspidcrtum,Poria cocas and Uncaria rhineophylla showed activity against both bacterial and fungal strains,indicating their broad spectrum of ***:The results revealed that the ethanol extracts of 30 plants out of the selected 58 possess significant antimicrobial *** is interesting to note that the findings from the current study are consistent with the traditional use.A clear correlation has also been found between the antimicrobial activity and the flavonoid content of the plant extracts which is in agreement with the *** results presented here can be used to guide the selection of potential plant species for the isolation and structure elucidation of novel antimicrobial compounds in order to establish the structure-activity *** in turn is expected to lead the way to the discovery of novel antimicrobial agents for therapeutic use.

Glycine crystallizes into three different polymorphs called α, β and γ under standard physicochemical conditions. They have different features depending on their structural variations. The possible interaction of glycine with magnetic minerals in meteorites and comets or in the ancient Earth, paves the way to study the self-assembly and molecular behavior under irradiation and magnetic conditions. The magnetic field might induce the formation of a specific polymorph of glycine. To gain insight on the consequences of gamma irradiation with a gradient of static magnetic fields (0.06 T, 0.3 T, 0.42 T and 0.6 T) on the self-assembly of single macroscopic glycine crystals, we gamma irradiated the powdered amino acid and then assembled single crystals from water solutions. The preliminary results showed a stable formation of fluid inclusions in the single crystals and no straightforward effect on the self-assem- bly process after glycine gamma irradiation and interaction with static magnetic fields. The α glycine polymorph single crystals formed at 55° from the magnetic longitudinal axis and seemed to be enhanced by gamma radiation. span>The γ-glycine single crystals presented L and D circular dichroism signals,

We study the relaxation limit for the Aw-Rascle system of traffic flow. For this we apply the theory of invariant regions and the compensated compactness method to get global existence of Cauchy problem for a particular Aw-Rascle system with source, where the source is the relaxation term, and we show the convergence of this solutions to the equilibrium state.

Anticardiolipin Antibody Isotype determination in Amniotic Fluid of Pregnant Patients with systemic Lupus Erythematosus and/or Antiphospholipid syndrome

Objective: To determine the levels and isotypes of aCl, as well as anti beta 2 glycoprotein 1 (antiβ2-GP1) antibodies in serum and amniotic fluid of pregnant patients with sLE and/or APLs, and healthy pregnant women serving as a control group. Material and Methods: We analyzed serum and amniotic fluid of pregnant patients with sLE and/or APLs, and of healthy pregnant women through ELIsA. Results were compared using a student’s T test. Results: 6 of 13 patients (46.1%), 5 with sLE and one with primary APLs had antiphospholipid antibodies in amniotic fluid. Two patients had IgG aCl and 4 patients had antiβ2-GP1 (one of them also showing IgM) in amniotic fluid. In serum, 4 patients (30%) had antiphospholipid antibodies present (one IgG aCl and three anti β2-GP1) as opposed to none in the control group having antiphospholipid antibodies in amniotic fluid. Only one control had IgM aCl in serum. Antiβ2-GP1 in the amniotic fluid of patients showed a statistically significant value when compared to controls. Conclusion: aCl and antiβ2-GP1 may be present in the amniotic fluid of patients with and without a history of fetal loss. The presence of IgM aCl and antiβ2-GP1 in amniotic fluid suggests its localized production.

At the Plant of Production of Radioisotopes part of nuclear Center of Mexico （InIn）, weekly radiofarmaceutics of sodium iodohippurate and meta-iodobenzyl-guanidine are prepared, these compounds are known as marked molecules with iodine-131. Currently the processes for the preparation of these compounds are carried out individually and in manual form, in box of gloves, presenting radiological risks. To avoid these risks, this work, shows equipment that is inside a warm cell with the finality of minimizing the radiological risks. Also, this semi-automated equipment has the purpose of to reduce the radiation exposure of personnel involved in the process of marking molecules. The routine industrial production with this equipment starts with the preparation of 9 marked doses of sodium iodohippurate of 2.73 mCi of iodine-131, each of the vials with saline solution of 4.5 mL and the product that containing the marked molecules of 0.5 mL with a percentage of marked of 95.6%. The innovation of this work consists in presenting a new design of equipment, for marked molecules, formed by electrical, mechanical, vacuum systems, and air extraction system.
