Pancreatic cancer is one of the deadliest cancers with a very poor prognosis. Recently, there has been a significant increase in research directed towards identifying potential biomarkers that can be used to diagnose and provide prognostic information for pancreatic cancer. These markers can be used clinically to optimize and personalize therapy for individual patients. In this review, we focused on 3 biomarkers involved in the DNA damage response pathway and the necroptosis pathway: chromodomainhelicase-DNA binding protein 5, chromodomain-helicaseDNA binding protein 7, and mixed lineage kinase domain-like protein. The aim of this article is to review present literature provided for these biomarkers and current studies in which their effectiveness as prognostic biomarkers are analyzed in order to determine their future use as biomarkers in clinical medicine. Based on the data presented, these biomarkers warrant further investigation,and should be validated in future studies.

BAcKGROUND colon cancer is among the most commonly diagnosed cancers in the United States with an estimated 97220 new cases expected by the end of *** affects 1.2 million people around the world and is responsible for about 0.6 million deaths every *** decline in overall incidence and mortality over the past 30 years,there continues to be an alarming rise in early-onset colon cancer cases(creted frizzled-related protein 4(SFRP4),is over-expressed in early-onset colon ***4 is speculated to play an essential role in cancer by inhibiting the epithelial mesenchymal transition(EMT).AIM To investigate the correlation between SFRP4 expression and EMT-linked genes in colon cancer and how it affects patient *** SFRP4 expression relative to that of EMT-linked genes and survival analysis were performed using the University of california Santa cruz cancer Browser *** SFRP4 was found to be co-expressed with the EMT-linked markers cDH2,FN1,VIM,TWIST1,TWIST2,SNAI1,SNAI2,ZEB1,ZEB2,POSTN,MMP2,MMP7,MMP9,and ***4 expression negatively correlated with the EMTlinked suppressors cLDN4,cLDN7,TJP3,MUc1,and *** expression of SFRP4 and the EMT-linked markers was higher in mesenchymal-like samples compared to epithelial-like samples which potentially implicates SFRP4-EMT mechanism in colon ***,patients overexpressing SFRP4 presented with poor overall survival(P=0.0293).cONcLUSION considering the implication of SFRP4 in early-onset colon cancer,particularly in the context of EMT,tumor metastasis,and invasion,and the effect of increased expression on colon cancer patient survival,SFRP4 might be a potential biomarker for early-onset colon cancer that could be targeted for diagnosis and/or disease therapy.

Use of stainless reinforcing steel （SRS） in reinforced concrete （Rc） structures is a promising solution to corrosion issues. However, for SRS to be used in seismic applications, several mechanical properties need to be investigated. These include specified and actual yield strengths, tensile strengths, uniform elongations and low-cycle fatigue behavior. Three types of SRSs （Talley S24100, Talley 316LN and Talley 2205） were tested and the results are reported in this paper. They were compared with the properties of A706 carbon reinforcing steel （RS）, which is typical for seismic applications, and MMFX II, which is a high strength, corrosion resistant RS. Low-cycle fatigue tests of the RS coupons were conducted under strain control with constant amplitude to obtain strain life models of the steels. Test results show that the SRSs have slightly lower moduli of elasticity, higher uniform elongations before necking, and better low-cycle fatigue performance than A706 and MMFX II. All five types of RSs tested satisfy the requirements of the AcI 318 code on the lower limit of the tensile to yield strength ratio. Except Talley 2205, the other four types of RSs investigated meet the AcI 318 requirement that the actual yield strength does not exceed the specified yield strength by more than 18 ksi （124 MPa）. Among the three types of SRSs tested, Talley S24100 possesses the highest uniform elongation before necking, and the best low-cycle fatigue performance.

Good quality crystals of calcium p-nitrophenolate （NPca） were grown from saturated solution by slow evaporation method. The crystal structure analysis and the molecular arrangement of these crystals were determined using X-ray diffraction （XRD）. From Single crystal XRD studies, NPca is found to be crystallized in the mon- oclinic system with a space group P21/n. The functional groups of the material were confirmed qualitatively by F-FIR （Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy） spectral analysis. Optical absorption studies reveal the absorption region and microhardness studies were carried out to confirm the mechanical behaviour of the crystals.

At least six major genotypes of Hepatitis c virus （HcV） cause liver diseases worldwide. The efficacy rates with current standard of care are about 50% against genotype 1, the most prevalent strain in the United States, Europe and Japan. Therefore more effective pan-genotypic therapies are needed. HcV RNA replication provides a number of validated targets for virus-specific and potentially pan-genotypic inhibitors. In vitro assays capturing the different steps of RNA synthesis are needed not only to identify new inhibitors, but also to examine their mechanisms of action. This review attempts to provide a comprehensive summary of the biochemical, cell-based and animal model systems to assess HcV polymerase activity and HcV RNA replication that should be useful for both basic research and applied studies.

Two-dimensional(2 D)titanium carbide(MXene)nanosheets exhibited excellent conductivity,flexibility,high volumetric capacity,hydrophilic surface,thermal stability,***,it has been exploited in various ***,we report synthesis of mixed phase 2 D MXene as a catalytic material for simultaneous detection of important biomolecules such as ascorbic acid(AA),dopamine(DA)and uric acid(UA).crystalline structure,surface morphology and elemental composition of mixed phase titanium carbide(Ti-c-T_(x))MXene(T_(x)=-F,-OH,or-O)nanosheets were confirmed by X-ray diffraction(XRD),Raman spectroscopy,high-resolution transmission electron microscopy(HR-TEM),high-re solution scanning electron microscopy(HR-SEM)and Energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(EDS)mapping ***,Ti-c-T_(x) modified glassy carbon electrode(GcE)was prepared and its electrochemical properties are studied by cyclic voltammetry(cV)and diffe rential pulse voltammetry(DPV).It was found that Ti-c-T_(x) modified GcE(Ti-c-T_(x)/GcE)showed excellent electrocatalytic activity and separated oxidation peaks of important biomolecules such as AA(at 0.01 V),DA(at 0.21 V)and UA(at 0.33 V).Also,Ti-c-T_(x)/GcE sensor is enabled their simultaneous detection in physiological pH from 100 to 1000μM for AA,0.5-50μM for DA and 0.5-4μM&100-1500μM for *** limit of detection’s(LOD)was estimated as 4.6μM,0.06μM and 0.075μM for AA,DA and UA,***,real sample analysis indicated that spiked AA,DA and UA can be determined accurately by Ti-c-T_(x)/GcE with the recovery ratio in the range between 100.5%-103%in human urine *** proposed Ti-c-T_(x) modified electrode exhibited good stability,selectivity and reproducibility as an electrochemical sensor for the detection of AA,DA and UA molecules.

A nonlinear optical single crystal of potassium pentaborate tetrahydrate （KB5O8·4H2O） has been grown from aqueous solution by using unidirectional crystal growth method of Sankaranarayanan-Ramasamy （SR） with a due modification in the growth assembly. Potassium pentaborate crystal of 60 mm length and 10 mm diameter has been grown along （100） plane with a growth rate of 3 mm per day within a period of 20 days. The grown crystal was subjected to single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis to confirm that the crystal belongs to the orthorhombic system. Some fundamental data such as valance electron plasma energy, Penn gap, Fermi energy and electronic polarizability of the grown crystal were calculated. The presence of borate in the grown crystal was confirmed by Fourier transform infrared （FTIR） spectroscopy. The optical transmission property of the grown crystal was analyzed using ultra violet （UV） visible spectral analysis. Surface morphology of the growth plane was observed using scanning electron microscopy （SEM）. The mechanical strength of the crystals was found out using Vickers microhardness test along the growth axis. Frequency dependent dielectric constant of the grown crystal was studied for various temperatures along （100） plane.

Microscopic imaging of the brain continues to reveal details of its structure, connectivity, and function. To further improve our understanding of the emergent properties and functions of neural circuits, we need to directly visualize the relationship between brain structure, neuron activity, and neurochemistry. Advances in the chemical and optical properties of nanomaterials, and developments in deep-tissue microscopy, may help to overcome the current challenges of in-vivo brain imaging, particularly when imaging the brain through optically-dense brain tissue, skull, and scalp. Developments in nanomaterials may enable the implementation of tunable chemical functionality for neurochemical targeting and sensing, and fluorescence stability for long-term imaging. In this review, we summarize the current methods used for brain microscopy and describe the diverse classes of nanomaterials recently offered as contrast agents and functional probes for microscopic optical imaging of the brain.

跨阻抗矩阵(trans-impedance matrix,TIM)是指刺激电流在人工耳蜗(cI)电极上所产生的电压场强比率。该电压场强作用于螺旋神经节细胞激发神经冲动而产生听力。在耳蜗模型中对所有cI电极重复构建TIM曲线,所有电路都是公共接地的,即除了被刺激的电极外,所有cI电极都用作公共回路电极。本实验在相对恒定的体外测试条件下,在耳蜗模型中测量了四种不同设计的cI电极刺激产生的TIM,并研究了cI电极在耳蜗模型中取向对TIM的影响。
