We report a novel and easily accessible method to chemically reduce graphene fluoride （GF） sheets with nanoscopic precision using high electrostatic fields generated between an atomic force microscope （AFM） tip and the GF substrate. Reduction of fluorine by the electric field produces graphene nanoribbons （GNR） with a width of 105-1,800 nm with sheet resistivity drastically decreased from 〉1 TΩ.sq.^-1 （GF） down to 46 kΩ.sq.^-1 （GNR）. Fluorine reduction also changes the topography, friction, and work function of the GF. Kelvin probe force microscopy measurements indicate that the work function of GF is 180-280 meV greater than that of graphene. The reduction process was optimized by varying the AFM probe velocity between 1.2 μm.s^-1 and 12 μm.s^-1 and the bias voltage applied to the sample between -8 and -12 V. The electrostatic field required to remove fluorine from carbon is -1.6 ***-1. Reduction of the fluorine may be due to the softening of the C-F bond in this intense field or to the accumulation and hydrolysis of adventitious water into a meniscus.

A theorem of Lambrechts and stanley is used to find the rational cohomology of the complement of an embedding s^(4n-1)→ s^(2n)× s^m as a module and demonstrate that it is not necessarily determined by the map induced on cohomology by the embedding, nor is it a trivial extension. This demonstrates that the theorem is an improvement on the classical Lefschetz duality.

Aim： To study the effects of homocysteine and copper on type 5 phosphodiesterase （PDE5） expression in cavemosai vascular smooth muscle cells （CVsMCs） and to investigate superoxide （O2-） derived from nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate oxidase as homocysteine and copper generate O2-, and O2- upregulates PDE5 expression. Methods： CVsMCs derived from rabbit penis were incubated with homocysteine or copper chloride with or without superoxide dismutase （sOD）, catalase, sildenafil citrate, or apocynin （nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate inhibitor） for 16 h. The expression of PDE5 and of glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase （internal standard） was assessed using Western blot analysis. In parallel, O2-was measured spectrophotometrically. Results： CuCl2 alone （up to 10 μmol/L） and homocysteine alone （up to 100 μmol/L） had no effect on O2- formation in CVsMCs compared to controls. In combination, however, homocysteine and CuCl2 markedly increased O2- formation, an effect blocked by sOD, catalase, apocynin, and sildenafil （1 μmol/L） when co-incubated over the same time course. PDE5 expression was also significantly increased in CVsMCs incubated with homocysteine and CuCl2, compared to controls. This effect was also negated by 16-h co-incubation with sOD, catalase, apocynin and sildenafil. Conclusion： This represents a novel pathogenic mechanism underlying ED, and indicates that the therapeutic actions of prolonged sildenafil use are mediated in part through inhibition of this pathway.

In this study,we synthesized high-performance Carbon Fiber/Gold/Copper(CF/Au/Cu)composite wires by using a 2-step deposition method via sputtering and *** Au was sputtered on PANbased CFs as a pre-treatment,the wettability and surface reactivity of the CFs were improved,resulting in a homogeneous deposition of Cu on their *** different Cu electrodeposition time,the resulting CF/Au/Cu composite wires could possess a high strength of up to 3.27 GPa(~10 times stronger than copper wires)while their electrical conductivity could be as high as 4.4×10^5 s/cm(~75%of that for copper).More importantly,since the composite wires were lightweight(up to 70%lower than Cu mass density),they are a promising candidate to substitute conventional heavy metal wires in the future electrical applications.

Grazing by domestic herbivores is generally recognized as a major ecological factor and an important evolutionary force in grasslands, Grazing has both extensive and profound effects on individual plants and communities, We investigated the response patterns of Polygonum viviparum species and the species diversity of an alpine shrub meadow in response to long-term livestock grazing by a field manipulative experiment controlling livestock numbers on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau in China, Here, we hypothesize that within a range of grazing pressure, grazing can alter relative allocation to different plant parts without changing total biomass for some plant species if there is life history trade-offs between plant traits, The same type of communities exposed to different grazing pressures may only alter relative species＇ abundances or species composition and not vary species diversity because plant species differ in resistant capability to herbivory, The results show that plant height and biomass of different organs differed among grazing treatments but total biomass remained constant, Biomass allocation and absolute investments to both reproduction and growth decreased and to belowground storage increased with increased grazing pressure, indicating the increasing in storage function was attained at a cost of reducing reproduction of bulbils and represented an optimal allocation and an adaptive response of the species to long- term aboveground damage, Moreover, our results showed multiform response types for either species groups or single species along the gradient of grazing intensity, Heavy grazing caused a 13,2% increase in species richness, There was difference in species composition of about 18%-20% among grazing treatment, shannon-Wiener （H′） diversity index and species evenness （E） index did not differ among grazing treatments, These results support our hypothesis,
