Purpose: We aimed to examine the longitudinal associations between parents' and youth's participation in physical activity(PA).Methods-: One hundred and ninety youth cuompleted self-admitiistered questionnaires 3 times per year from 2011 to 2015, and their parents completed an interviewer-administered questionnaire during a telephone interview once in2011-2012. Data on youth's and parents' activities were classified as interdependent or coactive/***: Youth with one or both parents who participated in interdependent activities were more likely to maintain participation in interdependent activities(hazard ratio(HR) = 3.63: 95% confidence interval(CI) = 1.30-10.17). Youth's sustained participation in coactive/independent activities was not associated with parents' participation in coactive/independent activities(HR= 0.97; 95%CI=0.46-2.06).Conclusion: Longitudinal associations between parents' and youth's participation in PA differed across type of PA. Encouraging parents' participation in interdependent activities may promote sustained participation in interdependent activities in youth.

Gabapentin(Neurontin)is an anti-epileptic drug that has had wide off-label prescription use since market release due to presumed negligible abuse ***,trends in drug misuse have demonstrated that gabapentin misuse is occurring,particularly in those with a history of opioid *** is concerning,because although gabapentin has no direct ligand activity at opioid receptors,it does potentiate the analgesic effect of opioids,and concurrent use of gabapentin and opioids may increase the risk of respiratory depressive effects of *** study investigates the incidence of gabapentin detected in urine samples collected for clinical drug screening purposes in a local hospital emergency department and in postmortem samples submitted by medical examiners in the *** metropolitan *** prevalence of gabapentin and co-detected drugs in both populations is contrasted,compared,and *** study found that 30%of urine samples collected from patients with suspected drug intoxication presenting to SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital,a quaternary care medical center,were positive for gabapentin,and nearly two thirds of those were also positive for *** a 6-month period,the incidence of gabapentin positive postmortem cases increased from 18%to 20%.Nearly all gabapentin positive postmortem cases were also positive for an opioid,the most significant being fentanyl,suggesting that gabapentin misuse may be due to its potentiating effect of opioid drug *** study also highlights the limited utility of immunoassay-based urine drug screens.

Understanding of the role of atmospheric moisture and heat transport in the climate system of the Cretaceous greenhouse world represents a major challenge in Earth system *** isotopic paleohydrologic data from mid-Cretaceous paleosols in North America,from paleoequatorial to paleoArctic latitudes,have been used to constrain the oxygen isotope mass balance of the Albian hydrologic *** the range from 40°-50°N paleolatitude,sideritic paleosols predominate,indicating paleoenvironments with positive precipitation-evaporation(P-E)*** exceptions occur on leeward side of the Sevier Orogen,where calcic paleosols in the wedge-top depozone record paleoenvironments with negative P-E balances in the orographic rain *** sections in the Wayan Formation of Idaho(WF)were sampled from the wedge-top *** units consist of stacked m-scale mudstone paleosols separated by m-scale sandstone-siltstone *** were sampled for organic carbon isotope profiles,and b-horizons from 6 well-developed paleosols were sampled for detrital zircons to determine maximum depositional *** first of these from the WF has produced a U-Pb concordia age of 101.0±1.1 *** same WF section has produced a stratigraphic trend of upwardly decreasingδ^(13)C values ranging from-24‰upwards to-27‰VPDb,suggesting correlation to the late Albian C15 C-isotope *** carbonates from the WF principally consist of micritic calcite,with carbon-oxygen isotope values that array along meteoric calcite lines(MCLs)withδ^(18)O values that range from-9.47‰up to-8.39‰*** approximately 42°N paleolatitude,these MCL values produce calculated paleoprecipitation values of-8.12‰to-7.04‰VSMOW,a range that is consistent with the estimates produced from other proxies at the same paleolatitudes across North *** results indicate that despite the orographic rain shadow effect,the processes of meridional atmospheric moisture transport in this locale were s

Seepage or loss of the mix-water from the drilling muds into the porous and permeable formations is a common problem during drilling *** drilling mud design requires a good knowledge of sealing integrity and all the factors influencing the mud to bridge through fractures or pore throat of exposed *** circulation materials(LCMs)are commonly introduced into the drilling mud to prevent or minimize filtrate *** study investigates silica nanoparticle(SNP)derived from rice husk(RH)termed RH-SNP using the wet-milling method as an LCM inwater-based mud(WbM).The impact of the RH-SNP in the enhancement of rheology and filtrate loss control properties of WbM was ***,the sealing integrity of the RH-SNP in a 1 mm and 2 mm simulated fracture for 7 min was determined using a stainless-steel slotted filter *** performance of the developed RH-SNP was compared with the widely applied *** synthesized RH-SNP at amount of 2.0 wt% significantly enhanced the yield point and plastic viscosity of the WbM by 75% and 386%,respectively,and minimized the fluid loss of the WbM by 47% at 80°*** enhancement is due to the particles ability to spread and interact efficiently with the *** the use of 1 mm and 2 mm simulated fracture for 7 min,the mud loss volume of the base mud reduced by 50%,66.7%,86%,and 90%(for 1 mm)and 40%,65.7%,77.1%,and 80%(for 2 mm)with the inclusion of 0.5 wt%,1.0 wt%,1.5 wt%,and 2.0 wt% of RH-SNP,***,the results showed that RH-SNP enhanced the seal integrity of the drilling mud and was more resistant to deformation compared to the *** findings of this study can help for better understanding of the application of RH-SNP as a loss circulation agent owing to its superior ability to seal fractured formation compared with the often used nutshell.

background:A new variance estimator is derived and tested for big bAF(basal Area Factor)sampling which is a forest inventory system that utilizes bitterlich sampling(point sampling)with two bAF sizes,a small bAF for tree counts and a larger bAF on which tree measurements are made usually including DbHs and heights needed for volume ***:The new estimator is derived using the Delta method from an existing formulation of the big bAF estimator as consisting of three sample *** new formula is compared to existing big bAF estimators including a popular estimator based on bruce’s ***:Several computer simulation studies were conducted comparing the new variance estimator to all known variance estimators for big bAF currently in the forest inventory *** simulations the new estimator performed well and comparably to existing variance ***:A possible advantage of the new estimator is that it does not require the assumption of negligible correlation between basal area counts on the small bAF factor and volume-basal area ratios based on the large bAF factor selection trees,an assumption required by all previous big bAF variance estimation *** this correlation was negligible on the simulation stands used in this study,it is conceivable that the correlation could be significant in some forest types,such as those in which the DbH-height relationship can be affected substantially by density perhaps through *** derived a formula that can be used to estimate the covariance between estimates of mean basal area and the ratio of estimates of mean volume and mean basal *** also mathematically derived expressions for bias in the big bAF estimator that can be used to show the bias approaches zero in large samples on the order of 1n where n is the number of sample points.

background:The double sampling method known as“big bAF sampling”has been advocated as a way to reduce sampling effort while still maintaining a reasonably precise estimate of volume.A well-known method for variance determination,bruce’s method,is customarily used because the volume estimator takes the form of a product of random ***,the genesis of bruce’s method is not known to most foresters who use the method in ***:We establish that the Taylor series approximation known as the Delta method provides a plausible explanation for the origins of bruce’s *** were conducted on two different tree populations to ascertain the similarities of the Delta method to the exact variance of a ***,two alternative estimators for the variance of individual tree volume-basal area ratios,which are part of the estimation process,were compared within the overall variance estimation ***:The simulation results demonstrate that bruce’s method provides a robust method for estimating the variance of inventories conducted with the big bAF *** simulations also demonstrate that the variance of the mean volume-basal area ratios can be computed using either the usual sample variance of the mean or the ratio variance estimators with equal accuracy,which had not been shown previously for big bAF ***:A plausible explanation for the origins of bruce’s method has been set forth both historically and mathematically in the Delta *** most settings,there is evidently no practical difference between applying the exact variance of a product or the Delta method—either can be used.A caution is articulated concerning the aggregation of tree-wise attributes into point-wise summaries in order to test the correlation between the two as a possible indicator of the need for further covariance augmentation.

Polyethylene glycol（PEG） has been shown to restore axonal continuity after peripheral nerve transection in animal models. We hypothesized that PEG can also restore axonal continuity in the central nervous system. In this current experiment, coronal sectioning of the brains of Sprague-Dawley rats was performed after animal sacrifice. 3brain high-resolution microelectrode arrays（MEA） were used to measure mean firing rate（MFR） and peak amplitude across the corpus callosum of the ex-vivo brain slices. The corpus callosum was subsequently transected and repeated measurements were performed. The cut ends of the corpus callosum were still apposite at this time. A PEG solution was applied to the injury site and repeated measurements were performed. MEA measurements showed that PEG was capable of restoring electrophysiology signaling after transection of central nerves. before injury, the average MFRs at the ipsilateral, midline, and contralateral corpus callosum were 0.76, 0.66, and 0.65 spikes/second, respectively, and the average peak amplitudes were 69.79, 58.68, and 49.60 μV, respectively. After injury, the average MFRs were 0.71, 0.14, and 0.25 spikes/second, respectively and peak amplitudes were 52.11, 8.98, and 16.09 μV, respectively. After application of PEG, there were spikes in MFR and peak amplitude at the injury site and contralaterally. The average MFRs were 0.75, 0.55, and 0.47 spikes/second at the ipsilateral, midline, and contralateral corpus callosum, respectively and peak amplitudes were 59.44, 45.33, 40.02 μV, respectively. There were statistically differences in the average MFRs and peak amplitudes between the midline and non-midline corpus callosum groups（P 〈 0.01, P 〈 0.05）. These findings suggest that PEG restores axonal conduction between severed central nerves, potentially representing axonal fusion.

Objective: To determine the efficacy of letrozole in suppressing estradiol levels during ovarian stimulation in cancer patients. Methods: A retrospective chart review of cancer patients undergoing ovarian stimulation for fertility preservation between 2014-2019 at a private university-affiliated fertility clinic in Canada was conducted. Ovarian stimulation was completed with no letrozole (Group A, n = 10), and adjuvant daily letrozole use at 5.0 (Group b, n = 34) or 7.5 mg (Group C, n = 61). The primary outcomes were peak estradiol levels and oocyte yield. ANOVA with a post hoc two-tailed t-test assuming equal variance was utilized as a statistical method. Result(s): Patient age and AFC count were not different between groups. The yield of mature eggs was not different at each letrozole dose;9.2 ± 6.0, 13.9 ± 6.5 and 12.7 ± 7.2 for Groups A to C respectively (p = 0.18). Mean estradiol levels(pmol/L) were reduced in a dose-dependent manner;7432 ± 4553 for Group A, 2072 ± 1656 for Group b, and 1445 ±1238 for Group C (A vs. C, p vs. C, p Conclusion(s): The use of letrozole during ovarian stimulation for oocyte and embryo cryopreservation in cancer patients can maintain physiologic estradiol levels, while ensuring satisfactory oocyte and embryo yield. Letrozole can, therefore, minimize the theoretical risk of stimulating residual and metastatic diseases, while still optimizing future fertility outcomes.

Osteocytes, the most abundant bone cells, form an interconnected network in the lacunar-canalicular pore system （LCS） buried within the mineralized matrix, which allows osteocytes to obtain nutrients from the blood supply, sense external mechanical signals, and communicate among themselves and with other cells on bone surfaces. In this study, we examined key features of the LCS network including the topological parameter and the detailed structure of individual connections and their variations in cortical and cancellous compa~ tments, at different ages, and in two disease conditions with altered mechanosensing （perlecan deficiency and diabetes）. LCS network showed both topological stability, in terms of conservation of connectivity among osteocyte lacunae （similar to the ＂nodes＂ in a computer network）, and considerable variability the pericellular annular fluid gap surrounding lacunae and canaliculi （similar to the ＂bandwidth＂ of individual links in a computer network）. Age, in the range of our study （15-32 weeks）, affected only the pericellular fluid annulus in cortical bone but not in cancellous bone. Diabetes impacted the spacing of the lacunae, while the perlecan deficiency had a profound influence on the pericellular fluid annulus. The LCS network features play important roles in osteocyte signaling and regulation of bone growth and adaptation.
