Introduction:Medication-related osteonecrosis of the temporal bone is rare and has been reported to be associated with the use of anti-resorptive and biologic ***,we present the first case of tyrosine-kinase inhibitor-related external auditory canal(EAC)osteonecrosis as well as two cases related to anti-resorptive ***:A retrospective case ***:Case one:an 84-year-old female presented with chronic otitis externa and osteonecrosis of EACs *** had a history of osteoporosis treated with denosumab and risedronic *** successfully underwent left EAC reconstruction using an inferiorly-based pedicle periosteal flap while the right ear canal was managed *** two:a 69-year-old male presented with osteonecrosis of the right *** had a history of osteoporosis treated with alendronic acid and zoledronic *** osteonecrosis is conservatively managed with local debridement and antibiotic *** three:a 60-year-old male presented with osteonecrosis of the right inferior *** had a history of chronic myelogenous leukemia treated with a tyrosine-kinase inhibitor,*** failing conservative therapy,he underwent right ear canal reconstruction using a periosteal vascular pedicle flap without complication and experienced complete resolution to his ***:Anti-resorptive agents and/or tyrosine kinase inhibitors may lead to dysregulation of bone remodeling and result in rare cases of temporal bone *** a local debridement and antibiotic therapy fail,definitive surgical excision of necrotic bone with subsequent reconstruction of the EAC may offer patients a possible resolution in symptoms.

Importance: Preeclampsia and depression are two of the most prevalent disorders known to affect pregnant women and unborn infants. however, few studies have prospectively examined the adverse influence of in-utero exposures to the two disorders on the optimal development in their offspring, including mortality, adverse birth outcomes, and infant temperament styles. Objectives: (1) To examine whether exposures to preeclampsia and antenatal depression were associated with developmental indices of offspring at birth and temperament at 3 months; and (2) To evaluate how preeclampsia and antenatal depression were associated with offspring temperamental style. Design: Prospective cohort study with regular assessment of mother"s blood pressure at each prenatal visit, offspring were followed till three months. Setting: Two prenatal clinics, New York City, USA. Participants: A cohort of 233 pregnant women were followed throughout pregnancy. Of those, 141 provided ratings of infant temperament at three months. Exposures: Diagnostic outcome of maternal depression by clinical interviewers blind to preeclampsia status were ascertained using the Structured Clinical Interview for DSM-IV Axis I Disorders. The development of preeclampsia, defined by the onset of hypertension (> 140/90 mm hG) after 20 weeks" gestation, accompanied by 300 mg of protein, monitored via electronic medical records. Main Outcome Measures: Birth outcomes were assessed via standardized ratings at delivery. Infant temperament was reported by the mother at six months, using the 91-item IBQ-R (Infant Behavioral Questionnaire-Revised). Results: Preeclampsia was associated with an over 5-fold increased risk for fetal/infant mortality, a 3- to 7-fold increased risk for poorer birth outcomes, and flatter affect and distress in infants. Objective‘Sludge’refers to administrative burdens or frictions that preclude people from getting what they want or need(eg,duplicative forms,complicated instructions,long waiting times).This mixed methods study evaluated patients’perceptions of sludge in the colorectal cancer(CRC)screening process and some impacts of this *** We employed an exploratory sequential mixed methods study design that comprised patient interviews and a patient *** interviews informed final survey revisions and captured contextual data about patients’experiences with *** transcripts were inductively and deductively analysed to identify overarching *** survey quantified sludge,delayed or forgone screenings,screening experience(Net Promoter Score)and health system distrust(health System Distrust Scale).We usedχ2 or t-tests for univariable comparisons and logistic or linear regressions to evaluate the association between cumulative sludge score and delayed or forgone screenings,screening experience and health system *** were integrated for *** Southeastern United *** Patients who were 45–75 years of age,at average risk for CRC and had either completed or been referred for CRC screening(colonoscopy or stool-based test)within the previous 12 *** 22 interview participants and 255 survey participants completed the study.38(15%)survey participants rated their screening experience as poor(Net Promoter Score=0–7 out of 10).The mean(SD)health System Distrust Scale score was 22.4(6.3)out of 45 possible points(higher score=greater distrust).Perceptions of sludge in the CRC screening process varied,with long waiting times and burdensome communication being the most common sources(58%and 35%of participants,respectively).Sludge was positively associated with delayed or forgone screenings(OR=1.42,95%CI 1.28,1.57,phealth system distrust(β=0.47,p

AIM: To determine the prevalence of bipolar disorder(BD) and sub-threshold symptoms in children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder(ADhD) through 14 years' follow-up, when participants were between 21-24 years ***: First, we examined rates of BD type Ⅰ?and Ⅱ diagnoses in youth participating in the NIMh-funded Multimodal Treatment Study of ADhD(MTA). We used the diagnostic interview schedule for children(DISC), administered to both parents(DISC-P) and youth(DISCY). We compared the MTA study subjects with ADhD(n = 579) to a local normative comparison group(LNCG, n = 289) at 4 different assessment points: 6, 8, 12, and 14 years of follow-ups. To evaluate the bipolar variants, we compared total symptom counts(TSC) of DSM manic and hypomanic symptoms that were generated by DISC in ADhD and LNCG subjects. Then we sub-divided the TSC into pathognomonic manic(PM) and non-specific manic(NSM) symptoms. We compared the PM and NSM in ADhD and LNCG at each assessment point and over time. We also evaluated the irritability as category A2 manic symptom in both groups and over time. Finally, we studied the irritability symptom in correlation with PM and NSM in ADhD and LNCG ***: DISC-generated BD diagnosis did not differ significantly in rates between ADhD(1.89%) and LNCG 1.38%). Interestingly, no participant met BD diagnosis more than once in the 4 assessment points in 14 years. however, on the symptom level, ADhD subjects reported significantly higher mean TSC scores: ADhD 3.0; LNCG 1.7; P hD status was associated with higher mean NSM: ADhD 2.0 vs LNCG 1.1; P hD subjects had higher PM symptoms than LNCG, with PM means over all time points of 1.3 ADhD; 0.9 LNCG; P = 0.0001. The local structure of the metal single-atom site is closely related to the catalytic activity of metal single-atom catalysts(SACs).however,constructing SACs with homogeneous metal active sites is a challenge due to the surface heterogeneity of the conventional ***,we prepared two Rh1/CeO_(2)SACs(0.5Rh1/r-CeO_(2)and 0.5Rh1/c-CeO_(2),respectively)using two shaped CeO_(2)(rod and cube)exposing different facets,i.e.,CeO_(2)(111)and CeO_(2)(100).In CO oxidation reaction,the T100 of 0.5Rh1/r-CeO_(2)SACs is 120°C,while the T100 of 0.5Rh1/c-CeO_(2)SACs is as high as 200°*** in-situ CO diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier transform spectroscopy(CO-DRIFTS),we found that the proximity between Oh group and Rh single atom on the plane surface plays an important role in the catalytic activity of Rh1/CeO_(2)SAC system in CO *** Rh single atom trapped at the CeO_(2)(111)crystal surface forms the Rh1(Oh)adjacent species,which is not found on the CeO_(2)(100)crystal surface at room ***,during CO oxidation,the Oh group far from Rh single atom on the 0.5Rh1/c-CeO_(2)disappears and forms Rh1(Oh)adjacent species when the temperature is above 150°*** formation of Rh1(Oh)adjacentCO intermediate in the reaction is pivotal for the excellent catalytic activity,which explains the difference in the catalytic activity of Rh single atoms on two different CeO_(2)*** formed Rh1(Oh)adjacent-O-Ce structure exhibits good stability in the reducing atmosphere,maintaining the Rh atomic dispersion after CO oxidation even when pre-reduced at high temperature of 500°*** functional theory(DFT)calculations validate the unique activity and reaction path of the intermediate Rh1(Oh)adjacentCO species *** work demonstrates that the proximity between metal single atom and hydroxyl can determine the formation of active intermediates to affect the catalytic performances in catalysis.
