Kernel texture(grain hardness) is a fundamental and determining factor related to wheat(Triticum spp.) milling, baking and flour *** are three kernel texture classes in wheat: soft and hard hexaploid(***), and very hard durum(*** ***).The genetic basis for these three classes lies with the Puroindoline ***, the easiest means of quantifying kernel texture is with the Single Kernel Characterization System(SKCS), although other means are valid and can provide fundamental material *** SKCS values for soft wheat would be around 25 and for durum wheat≥*** kernel durum wheat was created via homeologous recombination using the ph1b mutation, which facilitated the transfer of ca.28 Mbp of5 DS that replaced ca.21 Mbp of 5 *** 5 DS translocation contained a complete and intact Hardness locus and both Puroindoline *** of the Puroindoline genes in durum grain resulted in kernel texture and flour milling characteristics nearly identical to that of soft wheat, with high yields of break and straightgrade flours, which had small particle size and low starch *** water absorption was markedly reduced compared to durum flour and *** strength was essentially unchanged and reflected the inherent gluten properties of the durum *** quality was essentially equal-to-or-better than pasta made from ***, soft durum germplasm showed good potential with moderate grain yield and resistance to a number of fungal pathogens and *** breeding efforts will no doubt further improve the quality and competitiveness of soft durum cultivars.

Polyamines are small aliphatic amines found in almost all organisms,ranging from bacteria to plants and *** most plants,putrescine,the metabolic precursor for longer polyamines,such as spermidine and spermine,is produced from arginine,with either agmatine or ornithine as *** we show that Arabidopsis thaliana(Arabidopsis)arginine de-carboxylase 1(ADC1),one of the two known arginine decarboxylases in Arabidopsis,not only synthesizes agmatine from arginine,but also converts *** to *** analyses indicate that duplication and neofunctionalization of ADC1 and NATA1,the enzymes that synthesize Nδ-acetylormithine in Arabidopsis,co-occur in a small number of related species in the *** ADC2,which is localized in the chloroplasts,ADC1 is in the endoplasmic reticulum together with NATA1,an indication that these two enzymes have access to the same substrate ***,these results are con-sistent with a model whereby NATA1 and ADC1 to-gether provide a pathway for the synthesis of N-acetylputrescine in Arabidopsis.

Background: Since 2021, high-risk Human Papilloma Virus (HR-HPV) testing has been the recommended screening test for cervical cancer for all settings;either used alone in a “test and treat” strategy, or with a triage test, with or without biopsy, before treatment. Cameroon has rolled out immunization against HPV 16 and 18, but studies show a higher prevalence of non-16/18 HR-HPV types. Objectives: Determine the prevalence of precancerous lesions, in women with HR-HPV infection and evaluate association of digital cervicography (DC) VIA/VILI positivity with HPV serotype, as a measure of their contribution to precancer and cancer incidence. Methodology: The study was cross-sectional, descriptive, and analytic. It took place at the Etoug-Ebe and Ekoudoum Baptist Hospitals in Yaoundé, during the period April-September 2022. We reviewed the records of women screened for cervical cancer between february 2020 and December 2021 and evaluated the prevalence of lesions on digital cervicography (DC) with VIA/VILI for women positive for HR-HPV serotypes. The data were analyzed using SPSS version 20.0 for Windows. P values Results: We identified 315 cases with a positive HR-HPV deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) test, 224 (71.1%) had a DC VIA/VILI triage test done. Of these, 30 (13.4%) women had a positive DC VIA/VILI, with five women (2.2%) having lesions suggestive of cancer. Out of 11 cases positive for HPV 16 alone, 05 (45.5%) had a positive DC VIA/VILI test. Of the 14 cases positive for HPV 18 alone, 03 (21.4%) had a positive VIA/VILI, meanwhile only 19 (10.7%) of the 177 cases positive for non-16/18 HPV had a positive VIA/VILI test. Conclusion: A high proportion of women (13.4%) with HR HPV had a positive DC VIA/VILI, with a significant proportion (2.2%) having lesions suggestive of invasive cervical cancer HR-HPV serotype was associated with DC VIA/VILI positivity;HPV 16 had the strongest association (45.5%), followed by HPV 18 (21.4%), and non-16/18 HR-HPV (10.7%), suggesting a

为了更好地理解环境和基因型对小麦阿拉伯木聚糖含量的影响,为小麦品质改良提供科学依据,采用比色法测定了美国西部51个硬质小麦品种的阿拉伯木聚糖组分含量,这些小麦品种包括冬小麦和春小麦,分别被种植在3个不同的地点。结果表明,参试冬小麦品种水溶性和总阿拉伯木聚糖含量的变异范围分别为0.39%-0.81%和3.09%-4.04%,春小麦品种这两种木聚糖含量范围分别为0.48%-0.92%和3.94%-4.70%。小麦籽粒阿拉伯木聚糖含量的变异同时受品种、环境及其互作效应的显著影响,环境效应大于品种效应。小麦品种间阿拉伯木聚糖含量的变异主要表现在水溶性组分上。就不同组分而言,基因型对水溶性阿拉伯木聚糖组分的影响相对较大,环境则分别对冬小麦水不溶性、春小麦水溶性阿拉伯木聚糖组分有较大的影响。品种间和环境间阿拉伯木聚糖含量的变异,冬小麦大于春小麦;水溶性阿拉伯木聚糖含量的遗传型方差春小麦大于冬小麦。冬、春小麦的水溶性阿拉伯木聚糖含量的广义遗传力均大于95%,通过遗传育种的方法改良小麦阿拉伯木聚糖含量是可行的。冬小麦与春小麦阿拉伯木聚糖含量的平均值之间无明显差异。

目的:对全身皮肤血管区域进行定性和定量分析,确定全身皮肤穿支血管的位置、数量、口径、穿支蒂的长度、类型、来源血管以及穿支所供应皮肤的面积,为穿支皮瓣提供血管解剖基础。方法:选用10具新鲜尸体,采用改良氧化铅-明胶灌注技术进行动脉灌注。将每个口径大于0.5mm的穿支血管进行解剖并记录。拍摄X线片以显示皮肤内血管的形态和分布。定量数据分析包括全身各部位的穿支血管的数量、口径、类型及其供应区域的面积。结果:发现全身128支起源血管发出440支穿支供应皮肤。其中肌皮穿支与肌间隔穿支之比为3:2。穿支平均直径为0.7mm。穿支血管的分布规律如下:①躯干皮肤的血供主要来自肌皮穿支,这些穿支在皮肤内的走行距离和分布范围大于肢体皮肤的穿支。②肢体皮肤的血供主要来自肌间隙穿支血管,主要分布在深筋膜表面,皮神经和浅静脉周围穿支之间形成链式血管吻合。③单位面积的穿支数量与皮肤的移动程度成反比,穿支的口径大小和穿支在皮肤内走行距离与皮肤移动度成正比,与穿支的供应面积成正比。结论:本研究提供详细的皮肤穿支血管解剖数据,为临床设计应用穿支皮瓣提供解剖学依据。

Macroscopic Traversable Wormholes: Minimum Requirements

While wormholes are just as good a prediction of Einstein’s theory as black holes, they are subject to severe restrictions from quantum field theory. To allow for the possibility of interstellar travel, a macroscopic wormhole would need to maintain sufficiently low radial tidal forces. It is proposed in this paper that the assumption of zero tidal forces, i.e., the limiting case, is sufficient for overcoming the restrictions from quantum field theory. The feasibility of this approach is subsequently discussed by 1) introducing the additional conditions needed to ensure that the radial tidal forces can indeed be sufficiently low and 2) by viewing traversable wormholes as emergent phenomena, thereby increasing the likelihood of their existence.

This paper discusses the feasibility of thin-shell wormholes in spacetimes of embedding class one admitting a one-parameter group of conformal motions. It is shown that the surface energy density σis positive, while the surface pressure is negative, resulting in , thereby signaling a violation of the null energy condition, a necessary condition for holding a wormhole open. for a morris-Thorne wormhole, matter that violates the null energy condition is referred to as “exotic”. for the thin-shell wormholes in this paper, however, the violation has a physical explanation since it is a direct consequence of the embedding theory in conjunction with the assumption of conformal symmetry. These properties avoid the need to hypothesize the existence of the highly problematical exotic matter.

To search for genes associated with migratory phenotypes in songbirds,we selected candidate genes through annotations from the Mouse Genome Informatics database and assembled an extensive candidate-gene ***,we implemented a next-generation sequencing approach to obtain DNA sequences from the Painted Bunting *** focused on those sequences that were conserved across avian species and that aligned with candidate genes in our mouse *** genotyped short sequence repeats from the following candidate genes:ADRA1d,ANKRD17,CISH and *** studied the possible correlations between allelic variations occurring in these novel candidate migration genes and avian migratory phenotypes available from the published lit*** found that allele variation at MYH7 correlated with a calculated index of speed of migration(km/day)across 11 species of *** highlight the potential of the Mouse Genome Informatics database in providing new candidate genes that might play a crucial role in regulating migration in birds and possibly in other *** research effort shows the benefits and limitations of working with extensive genomic datasets and offers a snapshot of the challenges related to cross-species validation in behavioral and molecular ecology studies.

The British Medical Association(BMA)guidance on non-therapeutic circumcision(NTMC)of male children is limited to ethical,legal and religious *** we evaluate criticisms of the BMA’s guidance by Lempert et *** their arguments promoting autonomy and consent might be superficially appealing,their claim of high procedural risks and negligible benefits seem one-sided and contrast with high quality evidence of low risk and lifelong *** literature reviews by the American Academy of Pediatrics and the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in developing evidence-based policies,as well as risk-benefit analyses,have found that the medical benefits of infant NTMC greatly exceed the risks,and there is no reduction in sexual function and *** BMA’s failure to consider the medical benefits of early childhood NTMC may partly explain why this prophylactic intervention is discouraged in the United *** consequence is higher prevalence of preventable infections,adverse medical conditions,suffering and net costs to the UK’s National Health Service for treatment of *** of the issues and contradictions in the BMA guidance identified by Lempert et al stem from the BMA’s guidance not being sufficiently ***,that document called for a review by others of the medical issues surrounding *** societal factors apply,ultimately,NTMC can only be justified rationally on scientific,evidence-based *** are entitled to an accurate presentation of the medical evidence so that they can make an informed *** decision either for or against NTMC should then be respected.
