Fault detection and classification is a key challenge for the protection of High Voltage DC(HVDC)transmission lines.In this paper,the Teager-Kaiser Energy Operator(TKEO)algorithm associated with a decision tree-based fault classi-fier is proposed to detect and classify various DC faults.The Change Identification Filter is applied to the average and differential current components,to detect the first instant of fault occurrence(above threshold)and register a Change Identified Point(CIP).Further,if a CIP is registered for a positive or negative line,only three samples of currents(i.e.,CIP and each side of CIP)are sent to the proposed TKEO algorithm,which produces their respective 8 indices through which the,fault can be detected along with its classification.The new approach enables quicker detection allowing utility grids to be restored as soon as possible.This novel approach also reduces computing complexity and the time required to identify faults with classification.The importance and accuracy of the proposed scheme are also thor-oughly tested and compared with other methods for various faults on HVDC transmission lines.

Sustainable water management is essential to guaranteeing access to safe water and addressing the challenges posed by climate change,urbanization,and population growth.In a typical household,greywater,which includes everything but toilet waste,constitutes 50e80%of daily wastewater generation and is characterized by low organic strength and high volume.This can be an issue for large urban wastewater treatment plants designed for high-strength operations.Segregation of greywater at the source for decentralized wastewater treatment is therefore necessary for its proper management using separate treatment strategies.Greywater reuse may thus lead to increased resilience and adaptability of local water systems,reduction in transport costs,and achievement of fit-for-purpose reuse.After covering greywater characteristics,we present an overview of existing and upcoming technologies for greywater treatment.Biological treatment technologies,such as nature-based technologies,biofilm technologies,and membrane bioreactors(MBR),conjugate with physicochemical treatment methods,such as membrane filtration,sorption and ion exchange technologies,and ultraviolet(UV)disinfection,may be able to produce treated water within the allowable parameters for reuse.We also provide a novel way to tackle challenges like the demographic variance of greywater quality,lack of a legal framework for greywater management,monitoring and control systems,and the consumer perspective on greywater reuse.Finally,benefits,such as the potential water and energy savings and sustainable future of greywater reuse in an urban context,are discussed.

Morbidity Profile and Causes of Mortality in Type 2 Diabetes Patients: Data from a Tertiary Teaching Hospital from Eastern India

Background: Data regarding the prevalence of morbidity and mortality in patients of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) is scanty in India. Objectives: To determine the prevalence of micro and macro vascular complications, acute metabolic complications, infections, Non Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD) and cause of mortality in T2DM patients admitted to a tertiary care teaching hospital in Eastern India. Material and Methods: This was a hospital-based prospective study evaluating 150 T2DM patients admitted to a tertiary care institution in Eastern India. Diagnosis of micro and macro vascular complications, infections and NAFLD was made using standard protocols. In case of death, the most probable cause was noted. Results: Out of 150 patients, 14.7% of patients were newly diagnosed T2DM and out of them 41% of patients had vascular complications and 54.5% had infections. Of the total patients, 56% had nephropathy, 20% neuropathy, 17.3% retinopathy, 31.3% CVD, 11.3% CAD, 4.6% acute metabolic complications, 44% infections and 16.6% had NAFLD respectively. Macrovascular events occured earlier than microvascular complications. Multiple logistic regression analysis showed strong association of age, duration of diabetes, serum cholesterol, triglyceride, LDL-C with retinopathy (Regression coefficient β: -0.1086807, 0.4127152, -0.0513393, 0.0146429, 0.0587475;p < 0.05, < 0.001, < 0.05, < 0.05, < 0.05 respectively), while only duration of diabetes was strongly associated with nephropathy and neuropathy (Regression coefficient β: 0.2538751, 0.2261636;p < 0.001 for each). Increasing age was associated with CAD (Regression coefficient β: 0.055392;p β: 0.0055014;p 18.6% patients died due to diabetes related complications. Cardiovascular (CV)-related deaths (CVD+CAD) were most common cause (51.5%: CVD 36.4%, CAD 15.1%) to be followed by infections (27.3%) and then chronic kidney disease (12.1%). Foot-and-mouth disease(FMD) is a highly contagious and economically devastating disease of livestock, primarily affecting cattle, buffalo and pigs. FMD virus serotypes O, A and Asia1 are prevalent in India and systematic efforts are on to control and eventually eradicate the disease from the country. FMD epidemiology is complex due to factors like co-circulation, extinction, emergence and re-emergence of genotypes/lineages within the three serotypes, animal movement, diverse farm practices and large number of susceptible livestock in the country. Systematic vaccination, prompt diagnosis, strict biosecurity measures, and regular monitoring of vaccinal immunity and surveillance of virus circulation are indispensible features for the effective implementation of the control measures. Availability of suitable companion diagnostic tests is very important in this endeavour. In this review, the diagnostic assays developed and validated in India and their contribution in FMD control programme is presented.

Pseudoaneurysm is a known complication of pancreatitis associated with significant mortality and morbidity. Imaging plays an important role in the diagnosis and management. Computed tomography(CT) helps localize the lesion and the severity of the background pancreatitis but digital subtraction angiography with coil embolization is recommended to avoid bleeding and inadvertent surgery. However, in cases where angiographic coil embolization is not feasible due to technical reasons, thrombin injection via CT or ultrasound guidance remains a viable option and often described in literature. In this series, effort has been made to highlight the role of endoscopic ultrasound guided thrombin instillation especially in patients with poorly visualized pseudoaneurysm on ultrasound thereby avoiding surgery and the associated mortality and morbidity.

利用海底地震仪（OBS）记录的水层多次波对加拿大西部近海的海底结构进行成像，将成像结果与常规一次反射数据成像结果对比。这一多次波偏移成像（镜像成像）方法利用了海底之上的下行压力波场，其特点是数据完全不含任何一次反射的信息，而是由这些反射的虚反射信息构成了接收信号。镜像成像方法是利用针对一次反射波的克希霍夫叠前深度偏移算法对接收的虚反射数据进行成像。通过对数据和速度模型的一个简单处理：假定检波器不位于海底而是位于海面上二倍于水深的高度位置，可以解决穿越水层的多次波的附加传播路径。偏移结果表明，与利用一次反射波成像的常规方法结果相比，尤其在反射体很浅且OBS间距稀疏时，多次波偏移成像方法对海底下的结构提供了更宽的照明。镜像偏移方法的成像结果与垂直入射的漂缆数据（单道）在照明度上是相当的。
