The black soldier fly,Hermetia illucens,comes with big promises for industrial purposes since its larvae feed polyphagously on a broad spectrum of organic ***,research focusing on adult flies is scarce,which is inconsistent with their reproductive relevance within the rearing *** particular,directed oviposition is a challenge in artificial ***,decomposing organic matter is commonly used as oviposition substrate,which has extensive potential for improvement in view of the lack of standardization and the risk of microbial ***,we identified three fatty acids and one fatty acid methyl ester derived from the surface of old oviposition sites and targeted to elucidate their effect on preference behavior and oviposition site selection using Y-olfactometry and prepared oviposition sites,*** to tetradecanoic acid attracted gravid females and stimulated oviposition most strongly,while decanoic acid demonstrated a repulsive *** kept in mixed-sex populations were attracted by tetradecanoic acid,resulting in a higher egg mass found in the compound box(3.0–11.4 fold),a≥2.3 fold reduction of nonspecifically deposited eggs,and the highest total egg ***,decanoic and dodecanoic acid caused females to lay a greater proportion of eggs nonspecifically outside both *** data suggest that fatty acids,especially tetradecanoic acid,are important cues for oviposition site selection in black soldier *** order to achieve a directed oviposition behavior,the role of further short-and long-chain fatty acids as attractants should be examined.

CHAARTED was an ECOG-led phase III trial looking at early chemotherapy with the use of docetaxel in addition to androgen deprivation therapy （ADT） versus ADT alone in hormone-sensitive prostate cancer. The positive results of the trial showing marked improvement in overall survival in those who received chemotherapy with ADT have revolutionized the treatment of metastatic castration-sensitive prostate cancer.

Efforts on chemoprevention have been an attractive target of investigation for prostate cancer. Since prostate cancer is the most common non-cutaneous malignancy among American men, efforts for chemopreventative strategies make sense. However, such undertaking has been wrought with problems and wide-scale efforts to launch drug chemoprevent/on have been dampened by mixed results.

The proPSMA trial is a Phase III multicentric trial that examined the role of gallium-68-prostate-specific membrane an tigen(PSMA)-p o sitro n em issio n tomography/computed tomography(PET/CT)scan versus conventional CT and bone scan to determine the presence of distant disease prior to curative-intent treatment with surgery or radiation for men with highrisk prostate *** findings showed the superiority of PSMA PET/CT scan with 27%better accuracy and sensitivity at 92%versus conventional CT and bone scans.

ARASENS is an international phase III trial demonstrating the beneficial role of darolutamide,a novel antiandrogen,when added to docetaxel and androgen deprivation therapy(ADT),with improvement in overall survival in men with metastatic castration-sensitive or hormone-sensitive prostate *** is a nonsteroidal androgen receptor antagonist that has been previously shown to improve metastasis-free survival in nonmetastatic castration-resistant prostate *** showed that the risk of death was 32.5%lower in those who received additional darolutamide compared to ADT and docetaxel *** also improved other secondary endpoints including time to castrate-resistant disease,time to pain progression,time to first skeletal-related event,and subsequent initiation of ***,therefore,shows that darolutamide,in addition to ADT and docetaxel,as a form of upfront systemic intensification of“triplet”therapy for patients deemed chemotherapy-fit,represents a new standard of care for men with metastatic hormone-sensitive or castrate-sensitive prostate cancer and is anticipated to further change the landscape of treatment for this population of patients.

PREVAIL was a phase III multinational, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial that enrolled chemotherapy-naive men with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer （mCRPC）, which showed remarkable improvement in co-primary endpoints with an overall 81% reduction in the risk of radiographic progression, as well as 29% reduction in the risk of death in favor of the enzalutamide arm over placebo. All secondary endpoints including time to subsequent chemotherapy initiation and prostate specific antigen （PSA） progression were in favor of the enzalutamide arm. The results of PREVAIL shows the utility of enzalutamide that would likely soon expand the indication to asymptomatic or minimally symptomatic men with mCRPC not previously treated with chemotherapy.

Signaling through the vitamin D receptor has been shown to be biologically active and important in a number of preclinical studies in prostate and other cancers. Epidemiologic data also indicate that vitamin D signaling may be important in the cause and prognosis of prostate and other cancers. These data indicate that perturbation of vitamin D signaling may be a target for the prevention and treatment of prostate cancer. Large studies of vitamin D supplementation will be required to determine whether these observations can be translated into prevention strategies. This paper reviews the available data in the use of vitamin D compounds in the treatment of prostate cancer. Clinical data are limited which support the use of vitamin D compounds in the management of men with prostate cancer. However, clinical trials guided by existing preclinical data are limited.

The TOPARP study showed the beneficial utility of olaparib in a heavily pretreatedpopulation of metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer who were biomarker-positive for aberrations in DNA repair gene. A higher response rate to olaparib of 88% （14 out of 16 patients）, time to radiographic progression as well as overall survival, was seen in patients who were biomarker-positive compared to those who were not. This study showed a promising way of targeting prostate cancer with an enriched population of patients who harbor these deleterious genes. this paves the way for offering new therapeutic opportunities for men who have otherwise few remaining options.
