The thermophysical properties of expanded liquid mercury have been investigated along the liquid-vapor coexistence curve by using Monte Carlo and Molecular Dynamic simulations. For the purpose, an empirical state dependent interatomic potential for the region of dense metallic liquid is used, while the state dependence is not necessary near the cliffcal point. In order to test the validity of this potential, we determine the surface layering and the sound velocity, two properties very sensitive to the choice of the potential. Our results are in quite good agreement with other theoretical results and to the experimental data available in the literature.

Maximal local loads in animal joints are necessary to design bio-inspired mechanical *** studies presented methods to determine joint reaction forces in humans and ***,many of these methods are invasive,and no work has been published yet about the joint reaction forces in the horse forelimb during ***-invasive methods to measure the kinematics and ground reaction force of a horse forelimb were used in this work.A musculoskeletal model of horse forelimb was built with mechanical methods for the estimation of joint reaction *** entire forelimb was reconstructed by scanning real bones geometry with a 3D optical scanner and modeling all the muscles on a Computer Assisted Design(CAD)*** model dynamics were simulated with OpenSim in order to estimate the joint *** study allows knowing an order of magnitude of the loads at the joints at jumping in order to determine latter the maximal joint contact loading values that will be a key at designing bio-inspired joints for mechanical assemblies.

Three-point bending fatigue experiments were conducted on a typical Zr-based bulk metallic glass(BMG)at ambient temperature to investigate the fatigue behavior under cyclic loading *** show that the stress amplitude-cycles to failure(S-N)curve of the Zr-based BMG is determined,and the fatigue endurance limit is 442 MPa(stress amplitude).To evaluate the probability-stress amplitude-cycles to failure(P-S-N)curve,an estimation method based on maximum likelihood was proposed,which relies on statistical principles to estimate the fatigue life of the material and allows for a reduction in the number of samples required,offering a cost-effective and efficient alternative to traditional testing *** experimental results align with the American Society for Testing and Materials(ASTM)standard,indicating the reliability and accuracy of this estimation method in evaluating the fatigue behavior of Zr-based BMG.

BACKGROUND Bifidobacterium longum 35624 has shown efficacy in improving irritable bowel syndrome(IBS)symptoms compared with placebo in double-blind randomized ***,few data are available from real-life clinical practice or from studies that used Rome IV criteria to diagnose *** To assess the effect of *** 35624 on IBS severity and quality of life in a reallife *** From November 2018 to January 2020,278 patients with IBS(according to Rome IV criteria)were enrolled in a prospective,open-label,multicenter observational study by private practice gastroenterologists to received one capsule of *** 35624(10^(9) colony-forming units)per day for 30 *** in the study was independently proposed to patients during spontaneous *** severity(assessed by the IBS severity scoring system)and patient quality of life(assessed by the IBS quality of life questionnaire)were compared between the inclusion visit(baseline)and the visit at the end of 30 d of *** characteristics of patients were described at *** variables comparisons between inclusion and end-of-treatment visits were performed using the t-test and Kruskal-Wallis *** variables comparisons were performed using theχ^(2) *** total of 233 patients,with a mean age of 51.4 years and composed of 71.2%women,were included in the *** these patients,48.1%had moderate IBS and 46.4%had severe *** a 30-d treatment period with one *** 35624 capsule per day,a significant decrease in IBS severity was observed compared to baseline(mean±SD,IBS severity scoring system scores:208±104 vs 303±81,P<0.001)and 57%of patients moved to lower severity categories or achieved *** quality of life of patients was also improved by the treatment(IBS Quality of Life questionnaire score:68.8±20.9 vs 60.2±20.5;P<0.001)and 63.8%of patients were satisfied with the *** Thirty days of treatment with *** 35624
