Strategically designing layered two-dimensional SnS_(2)-based hybrid electrodes: A futuristic option for low-cost supercapacitors

Supercapacitors are promising energy storage devices in current century due to their high specific capacitance, cyclic stability, high power density, and high voltage rating. Due to their excellent electrochemical properties, supercapacitors are invariably used in a multitude of applications ranging from portable electronics to electric vehicles. The electrochemical performance of a supercapacitor mainly depends on the type of electrode-active material used in it. Thereby a careful selection is mandatory to achieve the excellency. Nanostructured electrode-active materials such as carbon nanomaterials, transition metal oxides,transition metal dichalcogenides(TMDs), electronically conducting polymers, etc. are invariably used for supercapacitor application. Among these, TMDs have received great interest, particularly transition metal disulfides such as molybdenum disulfide, tin disulfide(SnS_(2)), etc. Tin is abundant on the earth with excellent charge storage capabilities, attracted great scientific interest for application as electrode materials in supercapacitors. Good electronic conductivity, long cycling life and low-cost are its added ***, we discuss the recent trends in layered two-dimensional(2D) SnS_(2)-based electrodes to develop low-cost supercapacitors. Initially, their crystal structure, basic properties, synthesis methods are discussed. Further, strategically designing electrode nanostructures to achieve excellent electrochemical performance is reviewed then after. This includes material design in terms of morphology, pore-size,and shape as well as preparation of 2D SnS_(2)-based nanocomposite electrodes. Furthermore, the challenges and future perspectives of 2D SnS_(2)-based supercapacitors are included.

We propose an explicit,single-step discontinuous Galerkin method on moving grids using the arbitrary Lagrangian-Eulerian approach for one-dimensional Euler *** grid is moved with the local fluid velocity modified by some smoothing,which is found to con-siderably reduce the numerical dissipation introduced by Riemann *** scheme preserves constant states for any mesh motion and we also study its positivity preservation *** grid refinement and coarsening are performed to maintain the mesh qual-ity and avoid the appearance of very small or large ***,higher order methods are developed and several test cases are provided to demonstrate the accuracy of the proposed scheme.

Colorectal cancer is one of the commonly encountered cancers across the Western World. In United Kingdom, this constitutes third most common ranked cancer and second most common ranked cause of cancer related deaths. Its acute presentation as a malignant colonic obstruction imposes challenges in its management. Colonic stent has been used for many years to alleviate acute obstruction in such cases allowing optimisation of patient's physiological status and adequate staging of cancer. In this review, current literature evidence regarding use of colonic stent in acute malignant colonic obstruction is critically ap.raised and recommendations on the use of colonic stent are advocated.

Approximately 10%-20% of the cases of acute pancreatitis have acute necrotizing pancreatitis. The infection of pancreatic necrosis is typically associated with a prolonged course and poor prognosis. The multidisciplinary, minimally invasive “step-up” approach is the cornerstone of the management of infected pancreatic necrosis(IpN). Endosonography-guided transmural drainage and debridement is the preferred and minimally invasive technique for those with IpN. However, it is technically not feasible in patients with early pancreatic/peripancreatic fluid collections(pFC)(pFC in paracolic gutters/pelvis;or in walled off pancreatic necrosis(WOpN) distant from the stomach/duodenum. percutaneous drainage of these infected pFC or WOpN provides rapid infection control and patient stabilization. In a subset of patients where sepsis persists and necrosectomy is needed, the sinus drain tract between WOpN and skin-established after percutaneous drainage or surgical necrosectomy drain, can be used for percutaneous direct endoscopic necrosectomy(pDEN). There have been technical advances in pDEN over the last two *** esophageal fully covered self-expandable metal stent, like the lumen-apposing metal stent used in transmural direct endoscopic necrosectomy, keeps the drainage tract patent and allows easy and multiple passes of the flexible endoscope while performing pDEN. There are several advantages to the pDEN procedure. In expert hands, pDEN appears to be an effective, safe, and minimally invasive adjunct to the management of IpN and may particularly be considered when a conventional drain is in situ by virtue of previous percutaneous or surgical intervention. In this current review, we summarize the indications, techniques, advantages, and disadvantages of pDEN. In addition, we describe two cases of pDEN in distinct clinical situations, followed by a review of the most recent literature.
